7 hours in Japan Airlines Premium Economy | Singapore to Tokyo 

I've flown JAL to Europe from Sydney many times in premium economy and it is amazing. The perk of lounge access cannot be ignored. Crew are so friendly and efficient. I remember one flight where I fell asleep before the meal service. Not long after I woke up, a crew member came to me and said "I saved your meal, would you like it now?" This is the difference between just doing what is required and going above and beyond!

Imagine if the lounge PA speakers suddenly blasted out: "SUNFLOWER!!! SUNFLOWER!!! Taiyo ni mamorarete!" 😹✌️

‘Says not hungry and won’t order much’ in lounge. I then watch several dishes served and eaten. Hate to see ‘am hungry’ 🤣🤣

Seeing you eat Rice AND Chips reminded me of college days in Cardiff, where 'Half and Half' was the term used in fish and chip shops, when you would have a half-portion of each - though, it seems, you had a FULL portion of each .... despite eating "small"!🤣🤣Also, 'I hear the sound of business-class cutlery' is one of the saddest lines ever written !

The flight attendant asked IF you wanted noodles? She doesn't know you like we do. 😁

Looks like an iterative improvement over the older premium econ they used to fly. Excellent. It's good to see JAL still have some of the best legroom of any airline. Back in ~2016 they would sell upgrades from economy to PE for ~US$300 on the Jakarta-Tokyo flights at check in. A good deal if it was available.

A great seat, and their meal for Premium Economy was okay. I'm not surprised you had so much food before taking off; you wouldn't have survived the trip without it. Hee-hee, the RU-vidr with "Two Hollow Legs."

I always thought that large compartment above the heads of the Premium passengers was the compartment for the Premium Economy passengers.

Took this flight a couple of times when traveling from Singapore back to the U.S. Allowed us to have a pretty full day in Tokyo before the flight back home. As to the PE seats, they’re great. Even I, at 6’2” tall, have enough leg room. Also like the fact that they seats recline in a shell, so you don’t have to worry about invading some else’s space. My only nit in PE is the catering. I found it lacking on JAL’s economy and PE classes. Our flight from HND to the U.S. had two meals, the first being typical economy fare. The second could best be described as some kind of sustainable mystery noodles that were horrible. ANA’s catering in Economy and PE is much better. Oddly, I also think JAL’s catering is better in business than ANA.

Great flight, your flght time departure and flight time duration is same as Majority Ferry Trip in Seto Inland Sea. Bit curious, what flight you take from Tokyo to Singapore? Sadly, you got seat at Middle left Aisle, bit far from Window.

That s a decent space for a sky flight seating, less shoulb be criminalized.

Seems JAL really loves to offer their ramen selection on board for some reason. I wonder why...

IMHO the best perks in this premium are: 1)the sliding seats (not reclining) 2)the small privacy barrier at face height Those two features alone add A LOT of privacy and comfort, making a real "premium feeling"!

Safran Airgo fx premium economy seats are my favourite product an airline offers.

Changi Airport is basically one big lounge, with so much to see, do, and eat that one doesn't need to use an airline lounge there.

I guess the fact it was a night flight means the lack of window seat didn’t matter so much. And you got to drive the plane at 11:18 which was a nice bonus.

Flying JAL Premium Economy from SE Asia to Tokyo then onto the USA, next week. 6 hours one route and 11 the other.

JAL is definitely one of the world's best ! Love JAL ! However, the food in the Quantas lounge is pretty normal (nothing fantastic).

Hmm, not all 787 routes get Premium Economy; 787-8s only have Business and Economy. Am rather 50-50 on the value proposition though - the hard product seems really good, but the soft product offering falls kind of short.

1.5k for a premium Seat on midhaul for one flight. R they insane. Even better Airlines like Qatar are less expensive.

I am starting to get the clue that if I am traveling anywhere near Japan, to take a Japanese carrier because it will just be better.

I took the premium economy last month, but they didn't offer me the champagne and cup noodle 😂

So now you know that unless it is priced at less than 1.5x economy its simply not worth it. Better to save and buy business class when priced 2-2.5x economy.
