I have a similar screen which I've put into my own little Pi4 cyberdeck, made out of a 7" portable DVD player. The one I have has several ways to power the screen, a couple of which are not along the edge, and it has a connector for a ribbon HDMI. It's nice not having to have cables stick out the side. Mine has a built in audio circuit and speakers. Which while it's nice to have, the original speakers were not that great. They did have connectors that matched up to some slim laptop speakers I scrounged up from a broken laptop. They sound better and more importantly, turning the volume up above 50% used to cause the screen to shut itself down. After the speaker swap it was louder and didn't cut out anymore. Something to consider if you're trying to find a screen to run off a Pi4 on battery power. No one wants to carry speakers and a separate battery or PS. Oh and that was with a 12v 6a battery through a buck converter, capable of providing 3.5a constant, 5a max, turned up as high as 6v. Still can't get maximum overclock either with all that power. I had less power issues with the Official Pi 7" screen however, the official screen has no audio and at least an inch of extra glass between both of the long ends, which is unnecessary and was in the way on my original project a Pi4 boombox. The screen was wider than the carry handle by about 3/4," also has power and ribbon cable far enough from the edge. Some things to consider if you're building your own portable, which I totally recommend doing.

Thanks for the nice demo video!! I do like how they have clearly identified the buttons and connections on the PCB board!!! That makes it easy for users to see how to connect and use it right out of the box!!!! Thanks again and my best you and your lovely wife!!!!!

The second port on the displays says VGA. Isn't that a minified "analog" VGA connection usable with some adapter cable? Because the other port says HDMI.

You know I just noticed that, indeed it says VGA but is a mini HDMI connector, will look if there are adapter cables out there because it would be actually good to have a VGA input as well, could use it with some "older" cameras with VGA output as monitor as well.

I actually just got one of these for $23 CAD shipped and I am SHOCKED at how good it is. TBH I wish I had picked up a few of them at that price. Hoping aliexpress has another deal soon.

I will be placing this screen in a dashboard and the power button will not be accessible. Are the buttons on the side accessible from the screen itself like the power button? Or can a raspberry pi turn on the screen when powered?

@@ZardoxDrezeer my bad, you are right, win 11 only support 1024x768 although it does support 800x600, go figure, I thought I had tried the monitor on win 11 as well. Makes no sense why win 11 does not support 1024x600. Learned something new today. Maybe there is a fix in the registry, would need to look for it.

I just checked the website and there is no indication about refresh rate, which tells me it is not 120Hz otherwise they most likely would have mentioned it. So I assume it is 50 or 60 Hz.

Yes you can, just connect it to a HDMI output and USB for touch input.

As far as I know, phones do not have HDMI outputs. Although some Samsung phones have the ability to be used like desktop's, but I can not confirm as I do not have a Samsung phone.

Hi, Make sure you connect the micro USB port labeled "Touch" to your PC and also make sure your cable is actually a data cable and not just a power cable. It might help to check your device manager for an errors.

@@iHayri1 The Chinese purchase guarantee for private users is actually a fiction. From many countries, nothing pays off to return to China, also to Banggood. In my opinion it's better to pay half and reduce the risk of buying. Of course, everyone should consider it on their own.
