I prefer pull on jeans because I hate the button on fly jeans showing and kind of popping out and showing through sweaters. It makes my tummy look even bigger!
Humm, my shoe closet is legendary. I am hitting my 70's. People are standing in line waiting for my leather items. I am Italian & grew up in Europe! Where being well heeled is a must!
I’ve got the same hair and length. Root clip your curls to top of your head, ive just started doing it and that makes me look more youthful. Thanks for the video. ❤✌🏼🙏🏼
Recently saw the Princess Royal Ann in one of her late mother’s jackets. She rocked it. Not sure of the era of the piece but she made it look modern and classic.
Thanks to your videos, I completely overhauled my shoe wardrobe! Booties, cap toe heels, red pumps for the holidays and some kitten heel pumps. THANK YOU!
Yay!! Thank you so much Susan! That means a lot to me! Sounds like you have a great shoe collection now! I’m sure you’re noticing how they are the quickest update for all of your outfits
I enjoy all your clothes you put together it teaches me how to put my outfits together and learn to live my clothes I already have. So nice to learn modern ways.
Adding shoulder pads modernizes my shirts and dresses, giving me an instant facelift! I have narrow shoulders and wider hips so the shoulder pads balance my proportions and bring more attention to my shoulders, neck and face. It brings the eye upward.
Thank you so much. I’ve been watching some of your video blogs. They are extremely informative and fun to watch. Most of this I already know but it’s always good to refresh and perhaps get a few more tips that I’ve never thought of before. Anyways, thank you very much and I will like and subscribe.
This year I am very much into close toe flat mules that look like ballet flats without the back side. They look very polished and so easy to put on. They work well with slacks, jeans, joggers, and midi skirts. I bought a cream quilted leather, a black smooth leather, a denim blue leather with horse bit, and an antique gold velvet with a circle of rhinestones.
A basic T shirt in black or white looks really cool with a chunky gold necklace! Old Navy has a classic one called the Vintage T. I don't like faux leather because it feels stiff and doesn't hold up to years of wear like real leather does. But leather is so expensive, especially when styles change as they invariably do. So I buy jackets in faux suede instead. We called it ultrasuede back in the day but whatever you call it, it's soft and realistic looking, and in some cases it's even washable. I think the key is the color. I bought a black faux suede moto jacket at a discount center that looks just fabulous. I think if you stick to colors that occur in real suede it will look best. Currently, I'm looking for a faux suede jacket in a light beige.
I know this is oddly specific, but I would love to have your help finding shoes that are fashionable but COMFORTABLE. I have bunions and can’t wear heels. HELP!!❤
I'm slowly changing my wardrobe, learning from you as much as possible--and so far I'm feeling confident about my choices. However, over the past 8 years, I became obsessed with Susan Graver clothes from QVC, and now I'm so embarrassed with all the clothes I purchased. My biggest concern is about the polyester cardigan/tank sets in various colors. I'm pretty sure they are out of style, but I need someone to confirm that and give me the nudge to get remove these items. Can I get some positive okays to do so? Even the leopard print one? The ones that are duster length? The tunics? I'm 63 years old, retiring next year and I want a modern start. Many thanks!
Twin sets, tunic, duster all done in polyester knit or jersey material (especially patterned) are for 70/80/90 year olders because they are easy on and off.
Time to let another lady love them. Sell or donate, all of it, all of it. Everyone makes mistakes, don’t punish yourself for it. And….Stop watching QVC. Get back into life Go out and try on. You won’t regret it. It’s hard, trying on clothes takes time. Be choosy. You will be liberated I promise
Hi Nada, love your videos they are so informative and helpful. I've been wanting to know what brand & color 💋 lipstick you are wearing on this video? I'm loving it 😍 I've seen u in it before it looks beautiful on you & I think it might be a good one for me. Thanks 😊
I’m happy to say I have just about everything on the list. I’m looking for a black leather sandal that’s very comfortable and sturdy to walk hours in, but doesn’t look like an athletic sandal. And I wear sz 10 Wide, so shoe shopping is never easy for me.
That is awesome that you have everything on this list! I don’t know how you feel about Birkenstocks, but they are trendy right now come in all sizes and work for wider feet. :)
Nordstrom has some trendier shoe brands that carry wide widths. Vince Camuto and Sam Edelman are ones that I've seen. Also, some styles of Clark's run wide plus, they have some styles that come in wide widths. Naot is a brand that has similar styles to Birkenstock but have a more streamlined silhouette.
I love your videos. I wear ball caps because it's windy in Northern Colorado where I live. I recently purchased a 3 pack from Amazon with black, khaki and white hats. My husband didn't like my old one but does like these because the front of the hat is structured. He then curved the bills for me too. Apparently, ball caps are very specific! 😅 I love them though and wear the black one all the time. I like the sun out of my eyes and off my face and long bob out of my face too. I'm all about black sunglasses and a black ball cap.
Thank you Kristine! You definitely have the cool girl thing dialed in. Black cap and sunglasses sounds perfect! I forgot about curving the bills as a newbie! Thank you for mentioning that!
Jeans drive me crazy. I can never seem to find that perfect fit let alone the fact the what's "in style" really seems to vary widely depending on who you ask.
always awesome video....i am looking for modern boots knee high boot with a three inch heel. i am confused about if pointy toe kitten heels are in. modern tights.
Thank you! Yes, pointy toe kitten hill boots are in style, but so are square toe and block heeled. The most modern tights are black or truly any color in an opaque material. I also like the cable or textured tights.
It's wonderful to see you sharing your experience with our 7or9 Air-Touch Foam Comfortable Ankle Boots! We appreciate your support. Much love!. Kissssss
Would love to fimd your boots where are they sold???..I live abroad but will be in Chicago this summer are they carried by any stores there? Im hard to fit so must try on ...cant order online.
@@latinaalma1947 Hi friend, sorry we haven't physical stores abroad. You can measure your feet size and check out our sizing chart to ensure your first steps are as comfortable as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
To me, frumpy means not so much out of style, but never in style and ill-fitting, unkempt, not at all complementary to the wearer. A person can wear a classic outfit from a by-gone time that makes them look elegant, dignified, worthy of respect. Just because something is modern does not mean it isn’t frumpy. If it doesn’t fit-too large, or isn’t flattering, it’s frumpy. Too tight and faddish, especially on an older person, it’s tacky.
I totally agree with you on all of this. Some being modern does not necessarily make it not frumpy. I’ve done a lot of videos on frumpy trends. But modernity is a factor although possibly not as important as that and flattery. Thanks so much for the comment!
I have several caps with good intentions. I have long thick hair also. I’m curious to see you in one. I have not wore them but glad to know they are a youthful product to have. Waiting on you Nada!😜
Go for classics. You can do it. It doesn't have to be the horrid word retro . White blouse, white and black jeans, black leather jacket, boot cut jeans, tank tops, well fitted tshirts, denim jacket, polo shirt, straight leg jeans, white sneakers, blue and white striped button down shirt, This list is classic. Could be from over 60 years ago. Just some thoughts. I could be. completely wrong.
You are not wrong Pam! Thanks for the comment. The problem is that many women don't feel like those style represent their personal style. This is my essentials list and like you said it has not changed, but many women don't love them, at least not on their own.
If you think tshirts. Styles are bad for over 40 yer old women, don’t go near the plus size department! Even when stripes are out, the plus sized department has tons of horizontal stripes and flowery prints.
Agree. If you need a plus size, go to a high end store and buy a few mix and match outfits. Choose quality over quantity. Pay more and look great in a few outfits. A new outfit every day that looks cheap because it IS cheap is a lose-lose combination. Another suggestion for large women is learning to sew. One needn’t become a professional seamstress to sew a simple top that fits and the color, pattern, cut is complementary. Leave mismatched stripes, shapeless garments to Walmart. Don’t shop there unless it’s to buy fabric!
I think gray would be a beautiful choice for you, as well as silver or white :). If you don't like gray, of course, skip it, but it's a great neutral for you :)
Over 50 can not really wear retro--it just looks like you are still wearing your old wardrobe! I look stupid in a baseball cap-- i like them, and i wish i could wear one.
