You should do a video on PFAS and the chemicals involved in techwear clothing. Especially in and around items that use Gore-tex and other water resistant/repellant/proof materials.
@@SeekoGT I think it would be important in getting some of these companies to adopt safer, healthier practices in regards to techwear. Which a lot of companies in the realm of Arc'teryx, Acrnym, Nike, etc., rely heavily on water-resistant materials.
Absolutely something that should be explored more in the techwear space. We won't have a planet to take fit pics on without getting ahead of the sustainability curve. I think techwear could have a major role in popularising alternatives too.
I’m a long-standing fan of Maharishi (and their MHI line too) which I wear more with streetwear pieces. The Modular Gear Project items are those that really catch my eye as they remind me of futuristic versions of Samurai armour
Hey Antwon, I've been watching your videos for about a year and today, I've finally bought my first techwear clothing piece (the 042 steven cargo from uniden) after a year of hesitation! I got some converse all-star to pair with it, so I just wanted to say thank you for inspiring me!
Love Maharishi and their up cycle stuff. Haven are doing awesome but it sells fast. Molle webbing integration is perfect. On the downside, I bought engendered garment recently and was a bit disappointed by the quality of the stitches for the amount I paid but your mileage may vary, I like their colors and materials.
Also good for Europe ppl is Varusteleka which sell both surplus and their own brand of tactical military gear that looks quite techwear-ish. Note that their shipping policies are ok to the EU but not that great to the UK due to brexit so no free returns :(
I’m actually surprised you didn’t bring up a Holy Grail or Machine 56 in this video. Those two brands seem like the figure heads of warcore/cyberpunk (on social media at least). They’re high quality as well, which I can attest to since I own several pieces from them (mostly Holy Grail though since they’re more my style). Anyways, great video as always and I’m happy to see you giving out recommendations for warcore that aren’t those stupid drop shipping “brands”.
i always found warcore to look quite cheap and tacky from what i've seen of it from instagram etc. but I really love your take on the style in this video! I feel like I owe it to the style to give it another chance. Also, would love to see you review or look into some of the newer hamcus releases, think theyre doing some amazing work on their newest collection!
100% underrated channel. I'm glad I found you! I love this style and you introduced me to Techwear and Warcore, and is now my favorite style. Subbed :)
Oh love these vibes. I've been kinda hungry to find different pieces and accessories to go with my collection of Vintage Nascar Jackets. They are incredible pieces and finding the right low profile but still like tech-wear/streetwear vibe has been hard. Especially living in a climate where I need some insulation haha.
Yooo wasn't expecting to see THE SOLOIST and NUMBER (N)INE. Those are some really good brands for finding and creating grunge/punk/rock outfits with a more unique/avant-garde twist for me. I see them in streetwear but I wasn't expecting to see them in a warcore video.
Thanks! A lot of things on the channel are winter-appropriate, but I often use an insulated midlayer with a shell jacket over the top for colder weather and most of the time that works great
Short and easy video idea Big and Tall Brands I'm 199cm and 130 kilos and built like heavy, there just isnt much out there made for my end of the curve. Especially since most techwear is out of Japan. Thanks!
I can’t speak on tall but I’m a big boy myself and I find Maharishis outer wear fits rather well I recently bought some kimonos and it fits great. Btw I’m approx 280-290 pounds
Can you make a video about brands that make clothing more like "corpo" style, like things that dont have alot of pockets/laces. Like Deus Ex Human Revolution type or Cyberpunk 2077 corpo elites.
Not a fan of the Instagram take on the aesthetic but some of these brands are pretty interesting. I checked out modular gear project and if their stuff is quality, the value on them is insane. Outer shell and puffy jacket for less than 500USD is amazing value.
Thanks for an interesting video, Around the World in Eighty days! Some time ago I bought a Maharishi sweater on Asos for something around 50 Euro. The retail price without discount was about 250 Euro. I'm very happy with its quality, fit and, especially, price) Also would like to have some pieces from EG, Neighborhood, WTAPS and Haven, they could complement each other very good in this military-casual style.
Are there any tech wear brands that do big boy sizes. I'm a UK xxl and really struggle to find most things above an xl. Also thoughts on jordan engineered? Been seeing lots more tech styled clothing infiltrating the mainstream.
Definitely gotta check out Blackmerle if you havent. South Korean brand with a similar modular approach to their collections as the last brand you mentioned, but visually a lot more interesting and unique.
A Black BDU is the most WarCore shit you can wear. Its cheap, its durable and practical. Altho its too bad that the original BDUs are no longer made and all BDUs are now just copies thjat cost $50+ I remember when you could buy a BDU for $5 Aned i regret that i didnt buy more of them, altho 5-10 years later both of my BDUs are still intact, Only lost the black color
The only problem with patches or symbols...veterans or those who served/serving don't like when someone who wasn't in the army and not related to it in any way. I guess you can get a black eye for one or two if you aren't careful
I am trying to get into the fashion wear. Would you happen to know what product is the 8:37 from? I am afraid to drop alot of money on something thats low quality. The mantus jacket looks pretty nice too.
I've mentioned them somewhere I'm sure but I've never actually picked up any of their stuff. Some interesting things but I'd rather go to Hamcus for that kind of aesthetic
Now it's time to go the other way, it will be great if you do a video lile this but going to the other end of the spectrum, showing us brands with more classic (normie) looking pieces but eith performance to them.
Way to late to comment on this, but it shits me to tears that the patterns for twentieth century military gear aren't readily available everywhere. I'm always looking for ways to incorporate military design elements into to repairs, or modifications, of clothing. I'd like to do that without collecting milsurp, as that stuff is mostly horribly overpriced. If anyone *does* know where all that shit is, HMU.
@@sherdawg WTAPS, White Mountaineering, Neighborhood, undercover, Comfy Outdoor Garments, CCP, Snow Peak Taiwanese: Wisdom, Guerrilla Group, Goopimade Korean: CAYL, IISE And there's a lot more
They have plenty of all-black stuff, and there's nothing wrong with expanding your horizons. I used to wear all-black a lot but now I try and use at least some colour in outfits
Ive been an adept of WarCore/TechWear 15 years before this was even a thing in fashion and it irritates me that as this style gets popularized- the fashion/look part is elevated above the functionality. Some stuff near the end of the video are decent. but if Warcore is heading toward the trend as shown in the beginning of the video- its gonna be fucking cringe
I don't really think of things in terms of 'single outfits' - ideally anything you own should work in multiple outfits and scenarios. Just like anything else, high-quality products come at a price so it's worth making the most of them. You're free to spend as much or as little on clothing as you like.
@@ThisIsAntwon Thanks for responding to my comment with such respect and logic, especially when I can't say the same for my own comment above. Probably the most snarky comment I've written on RU-vid to date. Sure, I've never spent more than $100 on any piece of clothing and don't plan on changing that fact, but I shouldn't have come across as so judgemental. I guess I'm just tired of the "Reddit effect" whenever I try to look for items to buy. (See ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4ZK8Z8hulFg.html ) I've had great quality $10 Gildan/FOTL/Hanes shirts, $30-$40 Puma/Adidas/NB shoes, $20-$35 Wrangler/Lee jeans, $20-$40 Puma/Adidas Hoodies, etc that have all lasted me years and years. Style is cool I guess, but I guess I don't value it as much as some do. I have to point out that your channel focuses on practicality and quality I appreciate that immensely. What many do is focus purely on the looks of an item and stop there without taking anything else into consideration.
as person that was in militairy and as somebody that is in gear and clothing for outdoor, these things shown in the video look strange and the funktionality is superficial crap. sorry. this is so much style over substance, i cant handle it. ridiculous But i like the way you talk about these things. not sure what to think bout that all :D
A loose body, skin full of acne, and despite the greying hair, it is clear that he is a little boy whose maturity has not aged at all due to his disguises and the fact that he thinks he is tough. It is the most fragile who pretend the most.
