The 07 moisturizing mistakes 01. Not using the right amount of moisturizer 02. Not moisturizing two times a day 03. Not following the right order 04. Skipping moisturizer on oily face 05. Skipping moisturizer on acne 06. Not moisturizing your neck and chest 07. Applying moisturizer on dirty skin May this be helpful to anyone :) Thank me later ;)
xd Been doing skincare for years and was hoping to not hear that I have to put on moisturizer twice a day. Simplifying my skincare routine has been really nice, but been hoping to do less and get the same benefits from moisturizing once. No luck, or maybe I haven't found the right moisturizer.
I got amazed when you talked about religious practice . As a muslim, I wash my face five times a day.I also have dry skin. But this video just cleared all my doubts about moisturizing.Thank you so much ❤️
I recently added a serum for 'barrier fix' to my moisturizing game at the recommendation of an esthetician. It's only been a few weeks but I can already see and feel a huge difference. Finding the right product when you have acne prone skin can be exhausting but it's amazing when you finally find it
@@valentinechild I've been using the Aveno 'restore and calm' for sensitive skin collection. It includes a cleanser, triple oat serum, and moisturizer. The cleanser and moisturizer are also specifically for 'redness relief'. They have made my skin feel great over the last few months
The right amount of moisturizer is soon important! I used to use way too much because my skin was dry, thinking it would help. Once I started learning about skincare and learned how to layer the proper products in the right amount, it completely changed my skin. And twice a day is so true. When I get lazy and don't do it at night if I'm too tired, it really shows and it takes so long to get it back in shape.
A way to stay consistent is to not use it as soon as you are going to sleep but instead do it a couple of hours before For example, estimate how long you stay awake for Let's say you usually stay awake for 16 hours Then after 14-15 hours apply the moisturizer as you will not feel too sleepy by then(you can use a calendar scheduling, an alarm or whatever) This way you will always have enough willpower to do it instead of doing it with half a brain
I could never use a pea sized amount even though its slightly oily and acne prone, I use the Illiyoon soothing gel and use a big glob before my tretinoin and it leaves my skin nicely dewy.
Great video! I like the part where you explained about the “religious practice” requiring to moisturise more often. Hope you will slide in more of the same info regarding this for your future videos. Thank you, Dr.
Totally agree! It's disappointing that even a Muslim derm doesn't talk about it. I have dry sensitive skin which always felt "tight" after wudu'. I hate it when those blessed with great skin without much effort kept on bragging that they only use wudu' as their only skincare holy grail. Good for them but it made me hate myself.
Thank you for the info. These are some moisturizer options for oily skin types : - axis-y calming cream - rovectin lotus water - jumiso waterfull cream - torriden soothing cream - dermatory cica gel cream - torriden cream - isntree mugwort cream
My skin type is sensitive, combination and acne prone. My current fav moisturizer is Premium Whitening Water Gel by Hada Labo is 🤬 ! SOOO SOOTHING SOO GOOODDD! Will repeat for more jars and jars in future 🥹
i just want to let you know that emoji signifies someone mad and is cursing... idk if you know that but it just seemed so random to add that when you dont seem to be mad about something lol
@@raisondetre7948 it's not ofc but it's not unheard of people who are using some emojis in the wrong moments because they thought the emoji meant something else lol
From very oily skin+acne+black/whiteheads changed to less oily etc. I'm using foaming cleanser twice daily. My own toner containing 5 ingredients. Soothing gel, niacinamide serum and gel cream moisturizer.
Wow you're the first skincare person I've seen mention religious practice😳 I am a Muslim and I wash my face several times a day. Thank you for concerning about us💜

Yes thats the absolute best for my skin !!! Im combo and acne prone sensitive skin and i e spent thousands on creams / moisturizer and cerave is the best !!! Thicker than a snicker
One of my favorite moisturiser for acne prone skin and also for oily skin is a 100% the iUnik Centella Calming Gel Cream combined with their Green Tea Relief Serum. Those two helped me reduce the amout and redness of my acne by SO much. Definitely a huge recommendation for everyone that is struggling
To be honest, I'm kinda guilty of using too much moisturizer even though I have an oily skin, I only stop over moisturizing because my mom suggested that maybe over moisturizing is the reason on why my skin still have new acne popping up even though I avoided dairy and always do my morning and evening skincare routine.
I'm a normal-oily skin type, usually gel type moisturizer is my best bet. And my favorite is local product's Kayman skintella moisturizing gel, my skin never look this radiant and healthy before 😊
Neutrogena Hydro boost for morning and Neutrogena Retinol for night cream has been helping me a lot. I start by cleansing, toner, Hyraulic acid, Naiacinamide serum and moisturize. In the morning it's the same step followed by Sun screen in the end.
@@jev11 I have a combo with oily t zone. Three months ago I switches to Some by mi AHA BHA PHA moisturizer. The consistency is the same as Nuetrozena hydroboost but the ingredients are better and has helped with acne scars as well. Consistency and patience is the key. When you try something new, introduce only one new thing to observe how the skin reacts. These were a few things I wish I knew before.
One of the best videos about skincare I’ve seen!! This is REAL!! I had difficult skin sensitive dehydrated with acne, and all my problems got resolved and my skin is super glowy repaired and smooth using hydrating toner, hydrating cream ( I use Cerave) exactly the amount he showed with azelaic acid 10% cream and Cicaplast as sealing moisturiser on top. I was always afraid it could be too much for my oily skin but that was literally all I needed!!!
Muslim follower here 😊 I washed my face many times every day so that my moistutizer never stay long on my skin.. thank you for your wrll explaination ..
my age 20s I have oily to combination skin.. now I useing simple kind of skin light moisturizer. I think simple brand is a good brand for acne skin. I watch your video in daily basis. and try to improved my skin problem......
I have sensitive, eczema prone spot (side of the nose with crust buildups) and combination skin (t-zone & dry cheeks) I am using qv rescue gel for about a month & it’s good! 🤞🏻🤞🏻
My best moisturizer brands are Cerave, Cetaphil, La Roche-Posay, Hadalabo, and Hatomugi... all products from those brands have no smell. I hate to use scented products for my face. Besides those brands, I'm OK to use whatever brands as long as it has no smell. Even though I use more than a pea size and drink more than 2 lt in a day, my skin is still (weirdly) feels very dry. That's why I always bring distilled water in a spray bottle to spray it when I can't reapply my moisturizers
Same,i also wash my face five times ,and some might be wondering why,we actually pray five times a day,and before praying we perform "wudhu" cleansing some part of our body which is obligatory if you have water
They're probably muslim, muslims do wuzu and wash parts if their body with water 5 times a day, but since it's only water it's not harmful for skin barrier
I have oily sensitive acne-prone skin and my dermatologist reccomended La Roche-Posay's Effaclar H moisturising cream and I love it! It's light weight and perfect for my skin type.
@@laur83 I'm already using the Effaclar cleanser not the Effaclar H one,at the moment I'm following my dermatologist's advice, but thanks for the recommendation, maybe I'll try it someday!
Mabuhay for me Brilliant skin products suit mine , and helps a lot of filipino who are trying to find good skin care . They have a lot of skin care set that very convenient to use at home that cost not much. Proud user here😍
I have oily to combination skin and I swear by Illiyoon's Ato Ceremide cream. I just adjust the amount I use depending on the season. We're currently in the summer so I use half to a third of what I used last Jan-Feb when it was the cold season, where I felt my skin was too dry.
i have combination skin, and ive been eyeing illiyoon's ato ceramide. i live in a tropical country, some say i should buy the gel or lotion variant because the cream is a bit heavy.
@@skippynutbutter I haven't tried the lotion but rn I have the gel, I was sent the wrong one when I ordered online. I was supposed to get cream for the cold season. I also live in a tropical country. I would say the gel barely gets through the cold nights. I knew that because my face is oily when I wake up that I need to wash my face in the morning. It doesn't happen with the cream. So I'd say gel for summers and mornings then cream for cold months.
I have combination skin and I'm using the Aiken Prebiotic Hydra Moisturiser. It's an affordable and great product, and my skin is totally in love with it.
Gosh you explain everything well, concise, and accordingly, thank you for your this tip. I have super oily skin, and I thought applying moisturizer will add up to the oiliness of my skin. Will do all the steps and procedure you have provided, Thank you!
I’m using Iunik Centella Calming Gel Cream moisturiser for day time and night time would be either Rosken Sensitive Skin Cream or Some by Mi Aha Bha Pha Moisturiser😉
In hot humid climates, like the kind we have RN in India, even a moisturising sunscreen is enough. You wouldn’t need a separate moisturiser. But for dry and cold climates it’s a must. Always use it on damp skin for best results!
I needed this in my life..i suffered from acne for more than 20yrs and major reason to my depression😢 nothing works..i just wanna ask if applying pure castor oil on my face will help or severe my acne?
i literally had a very dry skin so i always put a heavy texture cream as moisturiser 2x a day am pm definitely not a pea size but alot iwould say because pea size wasnt enough for my dry skin and boom its not dry anymore i would say its gotten to a normal skin now so i believe for dry skin applying more amount of moisturiser is acceptable
I have always wondered why the colour of petroleum jelly differs in Asia and Europe.I recently ordered one from uk and that one feels more hydrating and effect lasts longer.
Because it’s a by product of oil so it depends how it’s extracted in which country. Same with anything, wine, chocolate, vegetables and fruit in one country will be different to another coz of the soil, nutrients, growing methods, weather etc
using moisturizer that is not compatible with our skin probably is a common mistake, too. I sometimes use too much, because I want to finish the one I use and move on to next product I have bought, cause I hope I might like it better...
I agree. I used kiehl's oil free gel moisturiser but it was expensive. So I tried a few brands recommended by beauty vloggers. One wasn't moisturing enough for my oily skin (was surprised), one felt odd, one contained fragrance and I had reaction. The current moisturiser that I use has niacinamide. happy with the results
I have been using moisturizer from 1 year because I just became teenager and I have oily skin and I have seen in a lot of videos that using moisturizer is necessary for teenager like me. it's been 1 month I haven't used moisturizer and damn my skin started to produce too much oil , pimples and acne, So this is a advice from me never stop doing your skincare even if you have healthy skin because the condition I have now is worst
for me it’s the opposite, i cleanse my face everyday and it has absolutely killed my acne, although my skin looks a bit dry now, so i have to start using a moisturizer ! but either i have no pimples at all either i have small whiteheads, that’s it, it’s so refreshing cuz i’ve only been cleansing for a week
I use safi probiotic moisturizer! It's very affordable and suitable for oily and sensitive skin!! 😁 I've been using it for almost a year and my skin feel less itchy than before. For sunscreen, I haven't found one that suits me yet😢 probably going to skip it for now
R u using a gel moisturizer or the cream one, if you have an oily face, u really should use the gel one, what moisturizer u r using now? Bc u might need to change to another moisturizer
@@starfantasy_zptniss8659 I’ve tried quite a few cream abs gel moisturizers. I forgot to add that I’m on Tret lol. Cerave’s PM moisturizer is my current favorite.
I have acne but also very dry skin, and I found that using baby oil is the best moisturizer for me. Yes, regular, plain baby oil. That stuff that's meant for babies' butts. It's thick and thus highly moisturizing, but also very gentle and somehow doesn't clog my pores. I apply a very thin layer of it on wet skin after washing my face. I've used oil free gel moisturizers in the past, they helped with my acne but they were not hydrating enough for my dry skin so I kept flaking. I've also used a lot of regular moisturizers. The ones for normal skin were the worst of both world (worsening my acne while still not hydrating enough) and the ones for dry skin hydrated me well but worsened my acne. So no matter what face moisurizer I tried, nothing worked. There isn't a lot of advice out there for this kind of combination skin of extremely poorly distributed sebum. So I've had to think outside the box a bit. So when I first tried using baby oil I had given up on everything and tried it only because it was the closest thing in my shower that I could put on my face, since I'd usually use it for my body. I was surprised it actually worked lol.
I highly recommend skintific 5x ceramide. 1. It is not that expensive 40rm-50rm (sometimes theres a discount on tiktok shop for only 30rm) 2. It has 5 different types of ceramides. Ceramide is an important ingredient for your skin to repair your skin barrier. 3. It has nice really lightweight non-greasy&oily texture, Oily and acne prone skin would REALLY REALLY LOVE THIS 4. The quantity is quite a lot too. It can last for 2-3 months or more
Not only is Sibu’s natural face cream awesome for skin prone to break outs, eczema, dry patches or just overall sensitive, but it’s pump dispenses just the right amount of moisturizer.
Im using Cerave Salicylic Acid facial cleanser then i follow it with Cerave salicylic acid moisturizer and CERAVE SPf 30 Moisturizer in the morning. Well in the night instead of salicylic i use cerave hydrating facial wash then cerave hyaluronic serum and cerave night time moisturizer. I dont care about wrinkles or fine lines my very concerns are acne and acne scars.
Hello Dr. Ingky, I have seen a video of yours about Aloe Vera, where you stated that its a moisturizer and it locks in the active ingredients. Now, I understood also, that a chemical sun screen has active ingredients. In this video you state, that sun screen should be applied to the skin AFTER the moisturizer, what confused me, as the "active ingredients" should be locked into the skin by a layer of Aloe Vera on top... can you clarify that for me please? Thanks in advance!
Love the videos it's always informative and easy to understand! I read that if you cleanse your face in the evening you don't really need to cleanse in the morning if it's not summer. My skin type is normal to sensitive with psoriasis on my eyelids and nose and forehead, so I don't want to cleanse too much cause of the rubbing :( Would you recommend always cleansing in the morning as well or is it ok to just wash with water?
I have a really dry skin and using a cleanser twice a day let alone once, no matter how anti-drying the cleanser claims to be, is not good for me. I get kind of an allergic reaction when my skin is too dry. I don't wash my face or take bath frequently because of that reason. I try to use a cleanser once a day (sometimes that's even too much). So what I am trying to say is figure out what's best for you and what works for your skin considering medical opinions etc.
Nice! I love to use Innisfree Bija trouble lotion when I got pimples.. the texture was very light and non oily, fast absorb too. I use together with bija trouble spot essence just to apply on the pimples only really super fast healing.
Some of my moisturiser recommendations. Do take a look 😅, hopefully it helps! - Purito B5 Re-barrier Cream. Might look light but don't underestimate the hydrating and moisturising powers. This stuffs great. Moisturises. 10% panthenol, good ingredients list. I'm currently trying this out. So far so good. Loving it. No adverse reactions. -Bonajour Green Tea Water Bomb. Another one of my favourites, if you wish your moisturiser to do more than just moisturising. Has peptides, niacinamide, green tea extract, polyglutamic acid etc.etc. THOUGH, and thats a very big though, I wouldn't recommend on a broken skin barrier. In which I'll go to next. - Krave Beauty Great Barrier Relief. Now this is just the most skin friendly stuff I've used when my skin barriers damage. Not severe damage though, its when I know I've gone a little too far and happy with swapping my skincare. Then my skin gets angry at me and that's when it just wants a nice barrier loving routine. And that's also when I'll reach out for this. -Stratia Liquid Gold / Cerave Moisturising Cream, those with severe damaged barriers can opt for this. Even oily skin. No fancy ingredients. Just science. Triple trinity ingredients; ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids to help rebuild back your barrier. Stick to a simpler routine though when you're using this and you'll heal in no time. Hope it helps
@@emilychung9216 Biggest red flag is when your skin just doesn't feel right. Its like.. tight, oily, dull and flaky. Like all life has left your skin if that make sense. Then red patch appears all over your face. You get acne at places where yoh wouldn't get. Your normal skincare just burns your face and you can't tolerate anything. (The burning one is a major flag, felt that before and hated it) You will feel you just need to keel adding toner upon toner upon toner. So whats the checklist: 1) Burning + Stinging sensation 2) Skin looks / feels ultra dull and oily (lifeless) 3) Random acne appearing 4) You always feel like you need to keep adding layers upon layers of toner. Hope this helps! 😁
@@wenjie3710 Thanks so much. Although I don't think my skin is at that state, but do have very sensitive skin (get redness around T-zone area). That's why I need to choose the right products for my condition.
@@emilychung9216 not a problem at all. Ideally if your skin barrier is damaged, you may wanna stick to tone -> moisturise -> SPF for a month at least. That's almost how long it took for my barrier to heal.
Brilliant advanced moisture booster gel -cream Product of Philippines by Ms. Glenda. I suffered from severe acne and only this moisturizer helps my skin to recover. Now my skin also glowing using their tinted sunscreen everyday. I'm so happy to share it here so other would try it 😊
Id reccomend an inexpensive moisturizer called complex 15. Its the only moisturizer i can apply without washing my face first. I rinse with water wipe my face then apply it. Possibly the urea has something to do with it.
