100% AGREE with 'Not to be Okay with your salary' Had similar experience as you. I started my first job out of college in Kitchener and the was hired at what can be said as market average. Just after probation we went through compensation again- Got 25% hike. People forget that they can just ask for it.
Could you please make a video/share suggestions on the best areas in Downtown Toronto for new immigrants (from the perspective that one can pay up to C$900-$1,000 and still have a private room and good infrastructure access, from the perspective of single PR immigrants. Thank you.
Thanks Navjot for making this video , it's very informative and well explained . Your videos had helped me a lot during immigration process and now I am in Canada and I owe you. Thanks a lot. Wishing Simran a speedy recovery!
Amazing video - covered most of the points such as TFSA, phone contract, my personal fav - “Don’t be ok with your income” .. sometimes we end up valuing oneself pretty less than what we deserve. Time to upgrade skills & get more cash inflow. Thanks Navjot 🙏🏻
May Simran get well soon! And, we can see both of you together again in the upcoming videos !! Your all videos are quite informative. I never miss them. So good to see auntyji after a long time 👍
First time I saw ur video was on the day you guys posted a video getting your photos in new delhi. It's been a long time I have been following your videos and life.... U guys r like family friends.... Lots of luck and success to both of u...
I like your videos paji, just subscribed to your channel yesterday. 1. Don't be a co signer for anyone's loan. this will affect your eligibility in your future loans. 2.If you are a student don't use your tuition credits for filing taxes when you are earning less than $50k/year save it for later use when you enter 20.5% tax bracket when you start earning more than $50k/year. Along with RRSP contributions. 3.Always have an Indian mentality when making big purchases like negotiating auto loan interest rate it will save you thousands of dollars on long run, negotiate on credit card interest rate (after building good history with no payments missed), negotiate on your salary as paji said in the last point, I did that and out of no where the HR at my new job accepting my counter offer and gave $3k/year extra on what they were offering(that's my car insurance for an year lol)
Thanks as always your videos are very informative. I have a feedback about the money spent on learning driving by which I mean canadian driving to pass the road test. I would suggest for new immigrants to get their license when their Indian license is till valid (3 months after landing) so that you atleast can practice well using rental cars by maybe taking 1 or 2 class from a driving instructor to understand the road rules. This is applicable if you dont have any friends or relatives to assist you. Else its not easy to clear the road test here without sufficient practice and you will end up paying for additional road test (when you fail multiple times) and pay for driving classes which is quite expensive.
thanks for sharing all this very helpful and valuable information! following your journey, and getting inspiration! loved the lamp made by mom! Kudos! very creative! Get well soon to Simran! All the best for all you do!
Very insightful. Thank you for the video Navjot. Could you also advise / make a video on how much to bring along (as a family of 4) while moving into Canada for the first time, and how / in what formats. I remember you briefly talking about it in one of your earlier videos, but would help to have more deets. Fyi...excited to share that we are moving in Sept'22 to Winnipeg (MPNP). Wish simran a speedy recovery. Best.
No offenses but you trying to say we should travel all the way to Canada leaving our family behind to drive the brand-new car according to insurance not even by choice on top of that Hyundai has least resale value in north America so it's kinda even out.
hello paji, you have mentioned a lot of times in your videos that you help in answering questions regarding mortgage and finances, how much you charge for the call, or just wondering I live in Kitchener only do you entertain meetings? if yes how much would that be. Thank you.
Hi navjot i have done French till C1 level and currently looking forward to do masters in canada just wanna know will French help me in my career (marketing) in canada and keep up the good work really enjoyed your content 👍
Hi Sir, your all videos are very informative and both channels are doing good job with helping us, my question is rule #10 and 35, which you used most in your videos, what is it mean and where we can get or read all rules?
hi potatoes, I am Deepak ;ur viewer and supporter from long time. Finally I got my COPR which was delayed due to covid. I am just planning to move and there are so many questions and concerns. do let me know if we still have those calls (except these investment ones- surely will need them down the lane) which were more like a guidance for new immigrants ,in terms of province selection and real expectations from Canada. just want a quick one to one :). Thanks.
Thank you Potato Talkies for this informative video, it really stands helpful. My concern was that there are already many PR backlogs which are yet to get cleared. So should I go for PR through PNPs or should I go for the education option. Even if I take the PNP option would there be any such backlogs there too?
2019-2020 subs. signing in! Navjot and Simran you're a success, happy tp see you get there! Your drive and persistence got you there, congrats!!! I wanted tp share a mental tussle I am going through. I am a highly emotional person and I can't stop dreaming about buying a new car when I get there as a PR, as soon as I get a job! I know that's not ideal since it will get harder for me to qualify for a mortgage to buy my first home. Please note I don't wanna a crazy expensive luxury car. Wanna buy a brand new Toyota hybrid or Subaru Impreza. My main career will be white collar, but plan to do Uber Eats as a side hussle to pay my car loam EMIs. The car will cost C$ 30,000 roughly. Please share your thoughts on this, would be greatly appreciated.. even if it's a dumb idea please tell me
Navjot i always watch ur video till the end Hey Guys welcome back to our channel to Tabtak ke liye Bye Bye, because they are not very long max 20 mins and our very informative with some glimpses of Canada. especially the pts like Car insurance minimization, Govt bonds for tax saving for retirement, asking more salary as u shown ur worth in 2 months and then switching because ideally one is well settled in home country and already doing well in career so experience count which I used to believe that we would start with labour jobs and then initial year would be tough. But thanks to highlight and one should know their worth even if one is ready to take a simple job. I guess that's why u saved so much money that u buying properties. Btw the excel u shared, is it applicable for India budgeting too? And initial ghar ka rent Ontario mein single person ko kitna dena chahiye if shared accommodation mein rehte hai and koi job nahi hai aur kin logo ke saath rehna chahiye
Thank you 😀 It’s applicable in India too!! You can live for $600-700 a month in shared accommodation. Just search for rooms on kijiji / FB marketplace and talk to people leasing out to see if your wavelength matches.
Hi very nice and informative video, do u have any idea of how much interns are usually paid while studying masters? 55k to 60k is what is max offered currently, should we ask more and if the company denies ? Any suggestions comments.
need a suggestion.. I have been contacted by few consultants where they offer a job assistant services where in they will make resumes and market it to targeted employers... this would help in getting a job, which in return would add scores and help in cracking the draw... do u agree with this service.. is it possible by a consultant to help maker ur resume to get a job?
@@Potatotalkies please do a video on comparing both and talking about why TFSA is better. I currently prioritize RRSP and would love to know why I should prioritize TFSA.
@@Potatotalkies but if college give me offer letter it might happened that immigration office will not accept my application because of below 50% marks
Hello brother, wanted to ask you one question may not be right asking here.. we want to try for Canada PR and my wife will be primary i will be dependent but i did my masters in NIBM global University and bachelor's in EIILM university, unfortunately both the universities are not listed in WES.. what do i do?
Hello Sir If a person lands in Canada in June with a job in hand so he can invest in TFSA from June to Dec only or he can invest for whole financial year? January To December?
Hard times all around the Crypto market especially with the collapse of BTC, yet I still acquire $27,000 every 14 days from my investment with a platform in town.
