Another masterpiece! The short glimpse of your wife's expression when you arrived with the mini desserts (4:20 into your video) was priceless. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Thank you Bill, this was a thoroughly enjoyable video. I felt like I was on the cruise. And all that scrumptious food! I adore your wife's spirit and the easy rapport between the two of you is also pleasant to see. Cheers!
Hello Bill, Chanced upon your channel accidentally and I just loved your style, effort and the editing. It was all hunky-dory-ed, Cockney-ed & Banter-ed. Really Chuffed ! Thank you for the tips, inputs and knowledge. Fair Winds.
today 10-11-24 was the first time I've come across the "Ritzy Travel Guide" What a delightful video. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband and I will be on the Ascent next year and can't wait to follow some of your suggestions. You and your wife did and excellent job. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. Have a amazing time on the Ascent next year. If you haven't already seen it, you can watch Part 1 here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tRcCyJ2_iVc.html
We just booked a Western Caribbean cruise in Feb 2025, based solely on your review! This will be our first Celebrity cruise and hopefully the beginning of many to come. Thank you!
Hi there, how exciting! Wishing you a fabulous time in February. By coincidence as I write this we are staring out the window looking across the bay, and the Celebrity Ascent is right opposite us! We're on a cruise with Azamara, and we're in Portofino, anchored out to sea, and the Ascent is right here too!
No doubt you will have a fabulous time!!! Celebrity was the first cruise I ever went on!! It was a small ship and I did not have the world's best cabin but it was still absolutely phenomenal!! I had my 3-year-old and 9 year old daughters with me and they were treated like royalty!!
@butchieblock9118 We have been on 6 Carnival ships and 1 Royal Caribbean. We will be on the Celebrity Beyond in May. We are so looking forward to Celibrity.
We just found your channel and are absolutely delighted! Thanks for taking us with you on your cruises. We hope to see you French Polynesia on Paul Gaugin or Ponant one day
I just subscribed to your channel after watching a couple of other reviews and tours. Love the honesty and very matter of fact way you give your listeners a great show. You and your wife are such a great couple, her saying almost says wet paint don’t touch was something my wife would say. Definitely remind me of my wife and I, I’m more blunt and she is smooth as a river rock.
brilliant review and video. Reminds me so much of Celebrity beyond that we cruised last year. We never got sample much of the late night life, as we undulged a very lot in the beautiful cocktails, from very early in the day, every day. Made up for it most days by getting up early and doing 10 laps of the running track. And then indulging in eggs bendicts daily. Great memories.
Thank you for your videos. Everyone gives nice tours of this ship but love you give day to day what’s going on. Can’t wait for our sailing July 2024. Love the way you narrated it all. 😊😊👍🏼
My beautiful wife and I just finished our week aboard the Celebrity Beyond and were most impressed with everything on board. It may even be our favorite ship to date. Having looked forward to a repeat visit, we elected to try her younger sister the Ascent for our next cruise. Surely, it will live up to its sister's offerings.
Love this!!!! The time and effort you put into this is apparent. I feel like I'm there!! I love cruising, but, alas and alack, my husband cares for it not. So I'm very, very much enjoying watching you and your wife living the good life. Please continue the onboard cruise reviews!
Hahaha I've just found your chanel & I absolutely love your style! We were aboard celebrity edge in April and I am chiomping at the bit to book another. I think we will stick with Celebrity as I really enjoyed the ship.
This is an amazing video. I have never cruised and been thinking about it. You have thankfully put me off any sort of MSC from one of your videos. I am loving the Cunard and this. It looks amazing. Could I ask a question regarding smokers onboard and what the rules are as unfortunately I am one. Many thanks.
Hi, thank you for your kind words. Smoking on cruise ships is prohibited indoors, but there are always designated spots on deck, at various places around the ship! I hope you find your dream cruise!
Thanks so much, Bill. My wife and I love to watch all your videos. They are very entertaining. Your comments always put a smile on my face while watching. We love how you and your wife review the food. We were surprised to see the almost midnight buffet. Most cruise lines did away with it a while back. We will be on the older ship, Silhouette, in April. I am sure we will enjoy that as well.
We love your videos. Have you tried the retreat? Luminae and Blu are far superior in food choice and personalized service than any of the 4 MDR restaurants. The crowds in the Oceanview were very stress producing but essential if you like Indian cuisine.
did you end up making/posting a video about the different types of cabins? I find that the most complicated when considering a celebrity cruise. we've been looking at a cruise in march 2026 on the Xcel, which of course doesn't launch until 2025, but I expect it will be similar to Ascent and Edge.
I love everything about you , your channel and your wife. I would love to be on a cruise with you two and Ofcourse my hubby! 😂 soaking up all your food knowledge! We are booked for our first ever Celebraty Cruise on the Apex. Thinking about moving it to later in the year. After August. Would you prefer Apex or this one? Have only cruised Princess twice with the 3rd in 27 days to Alaska.
Hi Bailey, lovely to hear from you! All of the Edge Class are almost identical, with very fractional differences, so any of them would be fine! Don't forget to go to the buffet restaurant at lunch, on the last sea day... Celebrity put on a seafood extravaganza!
Hi, we really enjoy the Edge Class of ships. Any of those 4, the Ascent, Beyond, Apex or Edge are really on their game. For the price point, they are very hard to beat.
Just discovered your channel. Some of the best videography I've seen. So many questions. What cameras are you using? Do the cruise lines allow you to use a drone? Great work! Thank you.
Hi there, lovely to hear from you! We use a variety of cameras. For onboard work we use: DJI pocket 3, Insta360 and offshore the DJI mini 4. Drones are generally not permitted onboard without approval. But can be used on shore, for ship views. Some of the footage we take looks drone-esque, but was actually taken by 360 cameras, that give a similar 'swooping' feel to the viewer
@OurCruiseLife I've just been watching your review of Margaritaville Islander. I was about to say that's either very brave of you, or very inspired! What a great review. Such a colourful ship!
Thank you, Bill, for a good view of the daily activities on Celebrity Ascent. Based on what you showed about the food choices, though, I think I will be looking elsewhere.🙂
Hi, cabin review in about 3 weeks. We just came back from another cruise, on the Celebrity Infinity. So I'll also be putting out a video on lower cost Celebrity cruise ships versus the newer Edge Class.
You asked if that Carnival cruise line was good. I watched a video. It was overcrowded and filled with lots of trashy-looking people. I'd say it is the cheapest cruise line. Some, I'm sure, are stylish and cultured, but most looked trashy and cheap.
Hi, it indicates the cost for additional servings. The first lobster tail plate is complimentary, but subsequent ones are at a charge. Years gone by you could literally keep asking them to bring more and more.
Vast majority of the foods at the Eden Cafe for breakfast and lunch are free , yes. There are a couple of upscale items which have an additional fee. But most are complimentary. The Eden Dining Room, in the basement is a Specialty Dinner venue, that is additional cost
Do you also know if casino players get free drinks while playing on the machine? When we were on Celebrity Eclipse in September 23, drinks were complimentary if you are playing. We are going on Ascent in about a month.
@nsn9668 Yes, last time I was aboard, Celebrity is one of the few cruiselines that provide free drinks while playing in the casino. You have to be ACTIVELY playing, meaning your key card is in a slot machine or you're at a table game and you order from a waiter.
Hello Ritzy... Bill! 😂 Great video again but this ship is really not my taste. Saw you last time on the beautiful Cunard and this one appears like an IKEA from the looks. Very uncozy and not elegant at all. But some nice outside areas.
I was raised in an area (New England) where lobster is very common, and I know which lobster is the best. It's disappointing that Celebrity Ascent chose to serve lobster tail, rather than serving whole lobster. If they had to serve a part of the lobster then the claws and knuckles are better than other parts. There is a big difference between fresh lobster and frozen lobster, and frozen lobster tail would be a disappointment for me.
I love the review. Food looks very good. I still don't care for the ship and perhaps when you go on the Infinity, if that's the one you're sailing on, you'll see my point better about what's lacking in the public mix and mingle areas of the Edge class ships. The entertainment seems to be "high energy." Is there any American songbook type of entertainment? Any romantic feel on the ship? I'm not feeling it. It's a different Celebrity than the one I'm fond of and while I'm fine with moving forward and adapting to changes, there is an essence I find missing on this ship in every single tour and activities video I've watched.
Hi Benjamin, yes it's the Infinity in our next series, in a few weeks . It will be a fascinating comparison! We were on the Summit, to Alaska in 2005, which is a sister ship. So it will be a bit like old times!
