I love the trick of creating a table around the text container to add color or a border. You may know, but some quick keys I use for this are Ctrl-A, Alt-N, T, Enter to create the table. To remove the border, Alt-J, L, H :)
Bro. Andy, Thank you very much for ALL of your video's one OneNote. As a Senior Pastor I started using OneNote about six months ago and after watching your videos I have become a [Semi-Pro] power user and it has made my daily productivity and process extremely easy to manage. If I could add some screen shots of my NoteBooks I would. I also added a quick click link that opens my email in my calendar and projects pages so that I can email information quicker. Keep up the great work and I am looking forward to addition videos on what you use OneNote for. God Bless! [As an added note: I have the entire NKJV Bible in OneNote as well to keep all of my notes and references in one places.]
2:30 I'm about a month into one note, and I use the Table-Shading method a lot. I might over use the table function, but I like how it lines everything up for me.
Hey Andy, I loved your tip about treating selected ink as text to help search. As someone who uses handwriting in OneNote a lot that would like to make searching text easier, is there a bulk setting to make ALL handwriting selected ink as text? Love the videos.
I'm using Mac Os version of One Note and I don't seem to have access to the same options ("Preferences" in OS lingo) , namely for the tip to make images as background by default. I'm I doing something wrong?
1000%. I appreciate the resourcefulness while keeping it simple and easy to understand. We dont want to know when one note was founded. We want to know how to use it and get the best out of it. Btw. This makes your videos act more as a reference than a piece of information entertainment. People will revisit this video when they have questions. At least, I tend to.
your onenote videos have been so extremely helpful. you've probably seen they are moving onenote 2016 to the onenote app, you should make a video on it.
Obrigado
Hello @AndyPark365 how to add the Navigation button in OneNote for Windows 10 near the upper left of the OneNote app window? my current OneNote version Microsoft® OneNote® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2208 Build 16.0.15601.20676) 64-bit
Way beyond 'helpful.' I've used OneNote for a decade without knowing any of the features you just demonstrated - I think that adopting a couple of them now will improve both the appearance & accessibility of my notes. You're an especially effective teacher because you anticipate what inconveniences or roadblocks a newbie may encounter & thereby relieve us of the frustration we'd otherwise experience. I'm definitely subscribing to your channel!
Hi Andy... I'm a big fan of OneNote but there are a couple of things I'm having trouble with... 1. Global Replace... the Find works great, but there's no Replace 2. The 'Table' feature doesn't allow for spanning of cells, like you can do in Excel 3. Pasting PDF content... sometimes I'll try to paste content from a PDF, and OneNote just crushes it. And, I don't want to just paste the document as an icon to be launched; I want to paste the actual content so I can highlight it and work with it IN OneNote. So, if you have any ideas, please send them along. Thanks so much.
What a fine fellow you are Andy and I thank you for this. I am trying to create a catalogue of items from a PowerPoint would you know if OneNote would be useful for this? Moving between sections is rally good therefore I'm placing the content and moving to a section [PowerPoint copied page] using a link. I'd be interestd on your thoughts as eventually the finished product would go on our SharePoint site for the business to access?
Great tips! I just recently made a decision to use one note as an organizing tool for my job. And I'm taking in a few RU-vids. And this one is awesome! New sub here, Andy! Thanks!!
Thank you for these amazing tips! I'm starting with OneNote and I specially loved the idea of setting the images as background. So helpful to annotate papers!
I'm torn between the familiarity of onenote and the capability of Obsidian. How do I chose? I'm not enjoying have to learn coding and markdown but I like linking my thinking. Please help!
@Andy Park Great tips as I'm still finding my way round OneNote. Re: Feed - if I try to login to feed on desktop it bitches about "Personal Microsoft accounts are not supported for this application unless explicitly invited to an organization." That seems borderline ridiculous when it works perfectly fine on Android and the Web.
Andy, thanks for putting these videos together. I've learned some new tricks, which is cool, since I instruct my teams on the use of OneNote. I wonder if you know how to automate the page format when selecting Meeting Details. I take a lot of notes for meetings. I prefer my page titles to have the format of Date, Meeting Title. When I bring in the Meeting Details for recurring meetings, OneNote formats the title, Meeting Title - Date. And it uses a date format that isn't specific. In our business the date format needs to be specific, like 2023.03.22. Is there a way to automate this? Thanks.
Hey Peter - I've searched around for a solution but no luck. It seems the title format is "hard coded" and can not be changed by the user. Not sure if there is a plug in that addresses this. If I come across a solution, I will reply here. Sorry it took so long to respond.
Thank you for being informative and clear in Influencer obligations. Not many kind and honest influencers in the world and you are one of them! Keep up the great and honest work ❤❤❤
One of the items I've hit with the OneNote is the storage size of a folder. Specifically, I've got one that is 0.56GB. It is very helpful for my job. I'm worried that there is a max size of the storage capability. I use the Link function, identify my notes with a unique number (provided in the raw data), tables, and Tags. All of which help to focus the interest to only those I'm I need to address. Another great feature, is the copy/paste of email as an attachment. These are then aligned to specific projects identified w/in OneNote.
Awesome tips and easy to understand instructions 👍. With two different versions of OneNote (i.e. Onenote & Onenote for Windows 10), is it possible to share a onenote link which opens in Onenote for Windows 10 ?
Hi Andrew. I don't believe it's possible to have a link that will specify which version of OneNote will open the note. If come across a solution, I will post the reply here. Thanks.
Thanks for making and sharing this. Question about using text in a container and linking it to Pages -- can you delete the list or table with the page names after you've used it to create the new pages? Or will that result in the new pages being deleted?
