Things like these really make me wish there "bonus" trophies/achievements. Ones that don't count toward 100% (or platinum),and either show up separate from the list or don't show until you complete them. Something similar to Xbox challenges, but without the time limit. That way, you get those nice rewarding notifications when you do something cool and hard, but it doesn't make it something that completionists feel required/pressured to do, unless they really want to (and maybe even have to go out of the way to look up).
@@ditehart I think the Uncharted Nathan Drake PS4 collection did something like this. Completing the game on the hardest difficulty gave a trophy but it was on a different list to the main ones (including the platinum) so there was still recognition for doing it but if you were going for the plat it wasn't essential
@@ditehart Horizon Zero Dawn did just that, i got the platinum and i'm only missing to separe trophies for doing new game+ in the two hardest difficulties. I genuinely love they did it that way, hope more devs start implementing it
The thing about Ornstein and Smough is that you *do* get rewarded with a lot of stuff for beating them, like the ability to get their armor sets, their weapons and the Leo ring, depending on which one you killed last, and most importantly the ability to warp between bonfires. And technically, acquiring the Lordvessel and discovering the Princess Guard covenant in the following room are two silver trophy rewards for their demise.
Or "X Videogame Features We (don't) Want in Real Life" 1. Crosshair 2. Save/checkpoints 3. Invisible walls 4. Miraculous healing/ resilience 5. Health/Stamina/other bars. 6. Dialog options we could choose from. 7. Inventory/bottomless pockets/chests with our things available (at hotels etc.) 8. Eagle vision 9. Cheat codes 10. Perk system/Skill trees..... These might also be used for Tuesday Checklist... BTW: Many thanks for all the great content to the P.S.A. Crew :)
There is such a friday feature if i remember correctly. One questionable thing on this list was people knowing a lot of guns names duo to game like CoD and Battlefield :D
Well if there's a hidden trophy which almost all games have that could be one of these or spoiler to the game and that ofc ruins it bcuz u can check hidden trophies on ps4 by pressing x on them then square soo really don't want to hit a spoiler trust me it's the worst. (i never check hidden trophies untill i completed the game thing or when I'm at a point where there's really no spoilers)
@@thegrandestmaster Those are an obvious red flag yes, but I'm talking about the ones that are visible like just taking a glance over it so you see what you're dealing with
I don't. I feel like it's kinda spoiling some parts of the game. But I check the trophies after my first playthrough though, I even check online for the hidden ones.
I couldnt agree with Pitioss Ruins more.. I mean the Gengi Glove midway and the Black Hood item at the exit are pretty damn good rewards though.. but the first time I did PR was 7 hours... its THAT hard. a platformer FFXV is not.
I collected everything on the map for Rise of the tomb raider and completed the game in the highest difficulty.......I deleted the game and stopped going for the platinum when I suddenly saw how manny coop trophies there werw
Online trophies should be banned. Having to rely on other people for trophies is annoying plus the fact that servers can go offline, making them permanently unearnable
@@jonathann.5754 Problem wth local co-op trophies is that not everyone has a friend to play the game with. At least with the online co-op trophies you can play with a complete stranger.
You remind me of an achievement for "Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon", Complete *90% of the game* with a partner. Boy, I wish I had a friend who would play that long with me locally.
Such a list is a great idea ! Though it would need Nubuo Uematsu in it, the iconic composer of Final Fantasy. Think what you will of those games, the music is among the best the video game medium can offer.
One thing that I wish had an achievement was Crash Bash (my first game). Completing the adventure mode in 2 player. It is brutal and basically impossible without a friend, cause that is just insane. Also, completing the game fully (150 percent isn't a complete save file) would be a gold, no matter how many players.
You aren't much rewarded by doing the pacifist run eighter, you can unlock all trophies as long you spare papyrus after starting a genocide, so that way, neutral and pacifist are the runs you can do the dog shrine. The other trophies can be obtained on genocide as well
Honestly, the most brilliant thing about the Undertale trophies is that you can get all of them in your very first run. Why? Because it means they're not an incentive to reset the game. After all, the game encourages you to leave after you're done with the pacifist run, to not reset and just let the characters live their lives happily. Wouldn't it be kinda contradictory if the trophies encouraged you to do the opposite?
I just wanted to say thank you guys. I have really bad anxiety, usually in public situations. When it gets really bad I can turn on one of your videos and the mellow nature of your videos and the fact that they're about video games (things that have helped me get by since I was a kid) makes them all the more therapeutic for me and can get me through waiting at the doctors office or before I have to see my in-laws or just haveing to be in public. So I guess I just wanted to say thanks guys (and girls) you do great work.
I agree with the Pitioss ruins one. A trophy would have been the cherry on top of the sense of FINALLY after the frustration of completing it. I have the platinum for Undertale. I haven't gotten on the full genocide run... >.>
there is a trophy for Ornstein and smough. it's the one you get when you recieve the lordvessel. they're the final test and you get the lordvessel immediately after them...
You also get a Soul, with which you can make either Ornstein's lightning spear, or Smough's hammer. That's 100x more rewarding than any trophy, since these rewards change the way that you play the entire game and give you a new experience. You also unlock the ability to buy Smough/or Ornstiens armour. Although Ornstein's head piece has no plume :(
Yeah true but there isn't really a specific trophy for beating O&S, acquiring the lord vessel is technically the reward for beating them but that doesn't count imo. That trophy is more of a progression reward for making it that far into the game which means that it's also a trophy for beating all the other bosses before O&S soooo no there isn't a trophy for beating O&S specifically.
I know what you're talking about :( have rewatched these videos lots. Still want his training with his monkey master to be complete and him to come back
Totally agree! Great video! Can't stand it when I get a bunch of trophies for simple storyline accomplishments but nothing for seriously hard/time-consuming efforts like collecting every item possible, completing bestiaries, or even learning every skill/spell/attack/etc. Love your channel guys, keep it up.
In the vein of trophies that make you do something x amount of times: Defeating Riku in the Destiny Islands paopu race 100 times and setting "the score" 100 to 0 (Kingdom Hearts).
If anything, beating Ornstein & Smough is impressive. Beating them twice, with both times having different outcomes of which one you’ve defeated first, is probably MORE impressive, since you’ve witnessed the both of them consuming the power of each other.
Dark Souls does give you a trophy for getting the Lordvessel, which is your reward for beating Ornstein and Smough. So no, it doesn't hand one to you for them directly, but it does hand you one for getting the item for taking them down.
*No trophy for:* buying a game, all its DLC, its soundtrack, art books, official strategy guides, all remasters, remakes, re-releases, merch, attending special events and music concerts. *Looking at you, Final Fantasy franchise...* I know you can't expect to buy you way to a trophy or something, but it would be nice hahahaha
@@DJAB87 i'm happy they are not continuing to milk XV honestly it's already a failed attempt it'll never be fix They shoehorn too much of todays business practices in it alongside their own treatment and i don't want the DLC to be more than my base game treatment Bought the ultimate beta disc and learned from it
You do actually get a trophy for beating Ornstein and Smough, kind of. You get the trophy for obtaining the Lordvessel which you get immediately after beating the duo, so, kind of.
In DS2, there is additional weapons ( and sorcery I think) you need to grab from the DLCs expansions. They added it to the trophies on the Scholars of the First Sin version.
My story is a bit of the opposite of this list, you see there was a trophy in KH1.5 for KH1 on PS3 where you need to obtain all Gummi Blueprints which meant having to complete all Gummi Ship Missions and it was tedious (especially if you have Monstro on the wrong route and potentially eating you in one of your runs) and then when the PS4 re-release of KH1.5+2.5 came out I went after the same trophy only to not realize later on that you only needed to obtain 30 blueprints this time so I didn't need to do all the missions. So I ended up unlocking it without realizing it and felt like I wasted my time.
They Should gove tiny rewards in conjunction with some trophies Like a dark souls theme when you platinum it Like nintendo does with Mynintendo and it's platinum coins
That was a thing on PS3 for some games, and there were even rewards in PlayStation Home I remember getting for playing Red Dead Redemption. There is a theme for platinuming Bloodborne, which they email you. More games should do that.
Yea... There was no f***ing way I'd have spent the 2 weeks dodging lightning, if I hadn't played FFX on my vita... I cried a tear of Joy the day Rob put that in a video.
Counter List: 7 Specific Things we Can't Believe There are Trophies for 1.) Heartbreaker (Bioshock Infinite)- Kill a Handyman by ONLY shooting his heart What would 2-7 be?
Hollow Knight has 2: Completing the Path Of Pain, and insanely hard platforming section, and successfully killing all bosses on radiant in the Godmaster dlc. Radiant makes the bosses 1 shot, and changes their arena. You get a bit of lore for each of these, but it is hardly enough to be worth.
you get a million rewards after beating O&S though. -two trophies for lordvessel and the princess' covenant -the soul of either Orenstein or Smough, which you can forge their weapons from -you get the ability of warping between bonfires -you can buy their armors -the bestest of the rewards: amazing chest ahead
The Pitioss Ruins took me hours, lots of rages, almost crushed my controller in my hands and then when it went 2d. I had to walk away from my console. 4 hours later(almost as long as it took me to kill the Adamantotise). I finally beat that dungeon. Didn't play the game again for a week.
Taking on all the hordes in Days Gone gave zilch after doing them all. Granted it was fun but there should have been the extra motivation to do them with a shiny trophy for doing so....
I think the reason why is they are pretty easy with proper planning and being decent at the game, I mean you can jog turn shot jog turn shot never get touched
I still can't believe there were no difficulty trophies for God of War 4. All GoW games had that and for some reason this one didn't. So all the casual players got the Platinum, and thus, the purpose for getting said Platinum was lost. I beat God of War difficulty twice, the second time on New Game+, for no reason.
It’s like how none of the dlc bosses in dark souls have an achievement tied to beating them but all of them are in the top 5 hardest bosses in the game
I think a cool Friday Feature would be the worst feelings while playing through a game. For example, playing through a set piece, just to die in a stupid way, ruining the flow of the action, or dying when a boss is on a slither of health etc.
would coerce people to play Genocide too... undertale was about have choices & free-will, having an achievement for either side would be detrimental to the game's motto "UNDERTALE! The RPG game where you don't have to destroy anyone"
I finished demon souls by only parrying enemies with a dual dagger build no direct attack only parry damage no magic nothing lol I've been use to dual wielding assassin in other games , i unconsciously play it that parrying is the only move to attack lol
In Hollow Knight there are tons of things you don't get a trophy for, including completing pantheons (boss rushes) with bindings (handicaps), complete bosses on radiant mode (harder version, one hit kill), completing steel soul mode (iron man mode, this achievement exists on PC but not as a trophy on PS4) and last but not least completing the Path of Pain an extra hidden platforming challenge in the white palace that might be one of the hardest things one can do in a game.
It really hurts that Code: Veronica didn't have a platinum, at least on PS3 I'm not sure about PS4. You have to beat all the battle games, which includes using only a knife as Wesker for his, because I didn't know he could get a magnum... And it's a silver. I got all the rest my first playthrough.
Actually Rob, In Dark Souls, there is an achievement for acquiring the Lordvessal, which is given to you immediately after defeating Ornstein and Smough, so technically there is an achievement for beating them, its just not called "beat Ornstein and Smough"
Admittedly i was over an over leveled sorcerer on my first playthrough so Ornstein and Smough werent that hard for me in the first try. Future playthroughs with more appropriately leveled builds definitely made it much harder.
@@100percentNotaBot Most people don't know how to pronounce it. His joke is that neither he, nor most people, know how to pronounce it. There actually is an answer.
@@100percentNotaBot In Japanese, you often essentially drop the "U" sound entirely unless indicated that it's a long U, which is why they wrote "Smough" in English.
@@100percentNotaBot And there's no U sound written into the name here, so you're only looking at the conversion of "Sumo" to "Smo", or "Smough" to look more complete as a name.
I feel like there should be a trophy in the Witcher 3 for exploring every damn question mark. That took me a hell load of time and the game doesn't even acknowledge it.
Now, y'see, we might all be laughing at the opening skit, but I'm totally going to start doing that 'biscuit unlocked' thing in the office all next week.
Infamous Second Son when you are told to use your neon to fight the boss but you manage to do it only with smoke. They don’t even recognize it in game that you did it only with smoke and just assume you used neon at some point.
There needs to be a trophy for you guys consistently making entertaining and high-quality content. Well done. And thanks for cheering me up in the morning.
You forgot Breath of the Wild where you get NOTHING for 100% completion! It took me hours to find all 900 KOROK SEEDS (if I spelled it wrong, bite me), and clearing every shrine, and getting every possible item in my inventory, only for it to say on the map that I did everything. The only way you can prove it is by showing the save file...which you probably deleted in rage. But I completely agree with you on everything else.
I'm not a football game guy, but in the football games I've played I've DEFINITELY kept trying to score with the goalie, it's such a good laugh and would be a great trophy idea.
