A way to make rejection not hurt is not taking it personal. It's a job. Sometimes you arent what they are looking for, bad timing. It's not you personally, it's just not the look they are looking for
I agree, but sometimes the agencies can be realy rough on people and not explain why the model is not good enough, sometimes models feel more hurt when the look is the minus becouse they for sure tried VERY VERY hard on it!
So true. One agency told me I'm perfect except that I didn't "sell myself" hard enough to them at the interview. A bigger one said big agencies don't like models to "sell themselves" and talk about all the freelance work they've don'e, etc. One told me I'm too bulky and need to lose 10lb while another told me my body type is perfect. Finally found the right one and I'm walking in nyfwm today :] Enough about me haha. I love your channel. I'm a subscriber for life!
Eric Chong that's awesome man. As I said in the video, some agencies have a type and its usually based on the clients they have a relationship with. Glad to hear you didn't give up and now you're in a major show. Good luck with the show man, let me know how it goes.
guys! sometimes modelling agencies are looking for something very particular. Very specific. It’s not that you are ugly or not good enough, it’s just that you aren’t the exact look they are looking for ❤️
I wants to go for modelling but I am scared to be rejected . Are there any modelling institutions or trainers that can teach you about walking and posing in front of camera and they can also help you in building your portfolio
Well if you a girl when you walking your head suppose to stay up straight no matter what my cousin is a model too and when you walking one foot on front of the other move your hips left to right not too much so that you hand can balance relax your hands no tight fist relax your face don't smile too much when walking it depends on what runway you doing . relax your face work on your post don't post for too long cuz other models are coming don't put you face down or keep looking into the audience to see where your people at make sure your is clear b4 . For man : all you have to do is walk almost the same as the girls and don't be shy put one feet one after another on front and take big steos but not too long kinda put your hand on your pocket ya hit me a like as a thank you reply if I'm wrong.
i’m 5’8 and 14. I don’t know what i’m going to do with my future when I’m older, but I really want to start modeling at a young age. Hopefully it will help me figure out what I want to do for myself when I’m older! :)
I see models who stoop or slouch, as if they don't want to be seen. I like models that smile and engage with the audience. Most act like robots. Shows use a ridiculous number of models. If each model displayed two outfits, they could afford to pay double.
Shows need to use a lot of models so they can speed up the show. Models take a while to change backstage so it would be a lot slower if there were fewer models
Keep in mind how much work goes in the background when models are changing, needing to get their hair and makeup redone. Shows last a few minutes, they do not have the time... Have you ever seen the stress a backstage manager goes through? My god...
Keep in mind that most models don't make any money doing ramp work. It's considered a steppingstone to hopefully some kind of editorial photos or campaign where they would make money. So a lot of the people walking on that catwalk are not getting paid at all .
I never got rejection but always asking me to move somewhere and i couldn't commit to that being i was young but mostly scared of being used and on my own
Here, I just want to share my experience. I'm 26 yo and I've been through many rejections since I started to enter the modeling in Bangkok at the age of 19. There are reasons for rejections that I could point out. Firstly, my height (5'9 or 175 cm.) that is considered to be not tall enough. Secondly, my look that has even been called "Ugly" sometimes with my unfavourable face for people in general and my naturally skinny body that I feel comfortable with and I've lived and eaten healthily. Thirdly, my sexual orientation, how I express myself as not so masculine. I consider myself as a more feminine one with my facial features, my body, and my sexual identity. I do not want to be a girl but I don't want to pretend that I'm manly. Even though I somehow managed to get someone hiring me for a couple of runway shows and photographs, the proportion of getting hired to rejections is 1:10 The bottom of my heart always screams not to give up on my dream but the fact that I have to face those criticisms sometimes makes me lose faith.
yo thank u for the advice! this video is much appreciated. much love nd ill check out yr other stuff -dont meet requirements -2 commercial -bad moods -bad timing -bad attitude -have yr look -not yr model type
this could help people handle rejection better and stay calm. but if you've been rejected by too many, then what should you do? give up? these tips apply to other things, like if you ask someone out and they say no it's just cuz you're not what they're looking for
I went to click models in. Nyc they told me I was perfect but because I was 2inches smaller around my waste they couldn’t take me😧but I got that close !
I got scouted through social media and I thought it was a scam and it was legit! I literally gave up on modeling in my 20s and then now at 34 finally got signed with out trying! They found me!
Reason number one is because they are too small. It's about selling the cloths, not about the models. I always wanted to do some modeling work but since I am just a little bit too short I didn't try it for a long time. Two years ago I finally took the chance and applied for some jobs. Today I uploaded a video in which I shared a lot of practical advice on how to find jobs and get your first photos. I wish someone would have told me this when I started out.
Hi, I have watched the video, thanks for sharing. But they didn't tell me why I was rejected though and I really want to pursue it as my career this year
Three years old. I find your conclusions consistent with my experience. How refreshing not to be laughing my ass off at some IG wannabe giving advice. Except ....your height parameters of 5'10"-6'3"... I cannot remember a guy below 6' who really took off and lasted. One or two jobs as the hot new guy no-one has ever seen and then they are done. With great photos 6'4" or 6'5" is an easier sell than 5'10". The hobbits should stick to acting . 5'10" foot NBA players are probably more common than 5'10" guys walking for Armani.
I’m so scared of applying I’m 5’2 and I wanna do high fashion but I know that I’m gonna get rejected 💔😭😭I’ve always wanted to do modeling since I was 6 and everyone around me keeps telling me that I should do modeling and I really want to do it , I’m very passionate about it . I watched your videos about how one can grow taller and showed it to my family but they keep discouraging me they are like , “nobody is tall in our family, you can try exercises and supplements nothings gonna work, it’s in our genes 💔I sometimes wanna give up but I feel like this what I was born to do , it’s so sad but I’ll figure it out in the end.😭
girl don't let your height stop you, if you put your mind into it and believe yourself you will be successful no matter what you do, also don't listen to the people discouraging/hating you cause of your height, they just jealous you got potential 💖✨
Don’t listen to your family. Literally don’t you’ll just waste your time. Push as hard as you can and let whatever happens happen. But don’t let them discourage you
Hi Marico, thanks for the sub! This is a great question, I might make a video about this soon. I'd say you can ask the opinion of others. High fashion models usually have edgy look and unique features while commercial models have great smile and a friendly face.
LOL at 1:30 into the video I had subtitles on and he was talking about commercial looks Idk what he said but in subtitles, it was like "commercial look you might want to do your homework and look for other agencies that represent crap models with your type another reason you might get rejected" Idk I just found that funny
I also wants to know that how much money did models get from agencies and how do the agencies earns money I wants to know the whole process I also wants to know that how can we find a good agency that will not sexually harass you
VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION! Are people usually rejected for facial piercings? I only have 1 on my lip, and I can't find out if agencies secretly dislike them or not. I can still remove it, but I can't find answers anywhere. Please let me know, I need an answer from someone with experience. Thank you
The first agency that I refer accepted me but my mom changed her mind and after 1 year I send my photos to another agency and today they rejected me rudely lolll Anyways not giving up I’ll apply in a agency before I turn 17 💪
Hey I just your video and I am sooo happy I got these tips! I am considering modeling and am doing some research on different agencies, open calls etc. I wanted to ask you one question - are protruding ears fine with agencies? Mine always seem very prominent whenever I put my hair behind my ears because I have lots of thick hair! Do you recommend that I show them or cover them?! Thanks so much!
I've been thinking of doing runway for a career choice but I'm currently at the height of 5'4. Would that ruin my chances completely? Of course I have some growth time left but it's unlikely I'd shoot up to 5'8.
I am 16 year old and i am 6,3 feet tall. My problems are that my nose is big and i have a very basic hair color(dark brown) and eye color(dark brown almost black).Should i consider platsic surgery with the posibility of being excepted by agencys?
No you shouldn't, you are above average height, that something that make you different from other people, you definitely have a chance, try to get scouted or enter a model agency an they will tell you what they want.
@@wanastfleur6400 thanks an agency just accepted me and i had a photoshoot few weeks ago. They pretty much said i would be good for runways with a little training. When it comes to photos for magazines and stuff they said it wont be easy unless i am in a group photo or something.Ngl if you hadnt commented i wouldnt have tried in the first place so thanks
Sara Sampaio had been told from an agency that she was too commercial. Well, I guess they regret that cause she has walked for many famous brands and VS. So, if they tell you you are commercial and you don't want to be a commercial model, show them they're wrong;)
I'm new to your channel so I don't know if that was answered already but how old is too old to begin modelling as a male? For a 29 year old what would you recommend?
I have 'unique' beauty such as high cheekbones, symmetrical face, good facial structure, jawline and dimples and I am also the perfect height and measurements, I live in the Middle East. If I get signed by IMG, will I be told to move, because I am not sure I could afford that?
I have to go to my first casting 15.09.2018 but my photo folio is not ready i can go personally to represent my self wethout my photo folio pleass i need your answer
Your portfolio should have a minimum of 12 looks looks and or styles showing previous work you have done. Try several different themes. Like a sports look where you are actually acting out an activity, a formal, a casual, a swim look, a lounge/ sleep wear look, a summer, an autumn, winter, spring, etc.
Guys never give up on your dreams no matter your size or height! #tooshortforwhat my friend who is not even 5" 7 started that movement she god discovered by Tyra banks! @tooshortforwhat on Instagram💖 YOU GOT THIS!
There are petite models. Generally 5'7" or under. They are often booked for swimsuit, lingerie, and parts models. It is not uncommon for petite models to work in catalogs and to become actresses. Go to www.thebalancecareers.com/types-of-female-models-2379353
