The only ones I would care about is the collision avoidance features and the annoying stop/start feature. Fortunately the former is a option and the later can be programmed out with a simple reprogram. The cabin noise can be rectified easily and inexpensively. The rest you mentioned are all associated with their excellent off road capability.

While all vehicle’s have faults some of the things mentioned in this video are precisely why I like the Gladiator. The driveline is more durable than any other midsize truck. 4WD is manually activated - no electrical solenoid switches to fail. The 3.6 L in standard form is the simplest and most rugged engine compared to the competition - no turbo’s, port not direct injection - and the optional 8-speed ZF auto trans is widely regarded as possibly the best mass produced transmission in the world. The brakes are superb. The off-road capability is unmatched. Hopefully Stellantis keeps these rugged features in future vehicles and avoids complicating the driveline. Owners do NOT want hybrid 4 cylinders or switch operated 4WD systems or independent front suspensions.

We just bought a 22 Gladiator overland with 12K miles. It has a soft top. We are in our 60's and absolutely love it. We have no complaints with any of the points he brought up in the video. We find that it steers and rides quite well, and is very comfortable. As far as room, my 6'4" son rode in the passenger seat and was quite comfortable. I am 6 foot and do not find the interior cramped at all. We recently rode in a newer Tacoma crew cab and found it to be very cramped (wife in the back and me up front) and poor ride quality. With the soft top, on a very windy day, yes it can get a little noisy but that doesn't bother us. It's all part of the experience. These things are all subjective and depends on your own personal needs for a truck. We don't have a need for a full size truck.

@@danoesq2 It does seem that critics of Gladiators and Wranglers -- I'm not talking about the other Jeeps, just these 2 that still LOOK like the "classic" Jeeps -- simply repeat lame/baseless myths they hear from other people who don't know anything about Jeeps, either. So the erroneous criticisms continue -- sloppy steering, rough ride on the hwy, always in the shop (etc.) -- as they won't listed to the facts. Plus, Jeeps are still WAY up high on the list for resale value. Why if they're crap? Are they perfect? No. Are there some issues? Yes, but no other brand is free of issues, either. Ask Ford, Mazda, BMW, GM, Nissan -- and "the best" Toyota...not lately though, are they. It seems Jeep critics are in one of these categories: -- never owned one. -- never driven one. -- driven/owned an older one. -- can't afford one (and so suffer from Sour Grapes syndrome -- they're angry at Jeep). In reality though, the current model Jeep Wranglers/Gladiators (again, not talking about the Jeep Liberty, Compass, Grand Cherokee, whatever) -- meaning 2018+ Wrangler JLs and 2020+ Gladiator JTs -- are the best Jeeps have ever been. If I needed to buy a new vehicle today (and still had to stick to he mid-size segment only, as I do), I'd get another Gladiator (Rubi)...but I agree the prices are still insane. Yet so are a lot of other new "specialty/performance" trucks regardless of brand. "Jeep Wave" (It's a Jeep Thing) -- BR (2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon)...which wants to move back to CO. ;-)

I purchased a 2022 Diesel Rubicon Gladiator about a year ago to flat tow behind our motorhome. We do light off roading these days and mainly highway miles. Besides the road noise we couldn't be happier. It easily handled the 35" tires without a lift. Just knowing you have the best vehicle for off roading means a lot! Since 1999, this is our 3rd new Jeep. We love this one and we'll be keeping it for many years.

i also have the 22 diesel rubicon JT. i love it but the suspension is not adequate for the motor. it bottoms out in the city even with the fix and i do drive it within expectations of the law :) i love the truck otherwise and i am sure i will love it much more after a new suspension... the brakes are incredible! one thing they don't mention is the fact that the JT has a boxed frame vs, toyota's c channel. there is a big difference in strength. also, the rubicon has a great drivetrain. it all factors into the cost if we look deeper into it. all these trucks shown cost too much, ours cost more because of what we are getting under the skin.

I bought one last September, been to southern UT twice, I think it rides pretty smooth both on and off road, off course it doesn't drive down the highway like most newer cars but no one expects it to, off course it is not as quiet as most newer cars but no one expects it to be that quiet. I'm over 60 and wish I had bought the first year 4 door Wrangler Rubicon when it came out. Every time I drive it, I wish I had bought one sooner. I'm six feet tall and I can sit comfortably in the back seat with the front seats all the way back, I can't do that in a ZR2 or a Taco (even a new one with rear disc brakes). I see other suv's & mid sized trucks and they would be nice, but they don't have articulation, and they will never be a RUBICON.

Jeep recently addressed the number one issue, which was price, by making drastic price cuts to move out the 2023 models. Ten-fifteen thousand off the list is what I've been seeing around here. As for the collision avoidance feature, I believe you can turn that off in the settings. And as for that insipid, auto start/stop, you can purchase an Auto Stop/Start Eliminator from a company out of WV to address that. I bought one for my Wrangler--it costs $100 and takes about 20 minutes to install!

Could have made this video RRALLY short; #1 reason people don't like the Jerp Galdiator: IT'S A JEEP, with all the qualities Jeepers LOVE about their vehicles. #1. Solid front axles; AWESOME articulation!!! (normal solid axle steering feel) #2. Fuel economy; while not great, as good as 4 bangers in Nissan and Toyota. (but it's a JEEP!!!!) #3. Five foot bed; It's not a work truck. (not that it was EVER meant to be) #4. Passenger room; bigger on the inside. If your want room, buy a work truck or luxury sedan. #5. UPGRADED interior features; digital, touch screen, electric seats, BUT IT'S STILL WATERPROOF!!!!!! (Warning: collision warning system requires lower sensitivity setting than most vehicles) #6. Road noise!!!!! If you want a quiet vehicle, get a luxury sedan. If you want THE MOST CAPABLE offraod vehicle, with removable top AND does, buy a Jeep. #7. Pricey, See #6. Also, retains value REALLY WELL!!!!!!

So dumb. I wouldn’t buy one that didn’t have a solid axle in the front. I’m on my second gladiator.my 21 overland had 33k decided to upgrade to the Mojave. I’ll prob buy a 3rd one eventually. I like trucks, not front drive(awd) car based garbage. No interest in a full size truck or a 4cyl turbo and I had wranglers so I gotta be able to take the top and doors off. This is all whiny crap, they are awesome. V8 would be nice but that’s all I’d change. Maybe 2 inch higher from factory too🤷🏻‍♂️

I bought the 2020 Gladiator Rubicon, so I could add larger tires, have a high lift, so I can go where I want. I didn't get collision avoidance as I seen it as a nusance. The Rubicon should have come with either the 3.0 diesel or the 6.4l V8, and Dana 60 axles or Dana 60 front, Dana 80 rear, as well as at least a 4.5 inch lift, and a winch compatible front bumper, as standard features. Hear that Jeep?

That's a unicorn anyway. That is what everyone ends up with. Just ordered a stubby winch capable bumper, then next is the winch, followed by engine/transmission and transfer case skids. Maybe offroad Auxbeam lights and recovery gear, if I have left over money. Next year a lift, Steer Smart steering components, shocks, new tires. Just empty every pocket. Work lots of OT.@@thegenrl
@RickZackExploreOffroad

The new Wranglers and Gladiators have a winch capable front bumper option. You can even get them with a Warn winch from the factory. The purpose of a lift is to allow the space for larger tires, they do nothing in of themselves to improve the cross over angles. The only thing that increases ground clearance are larger tires. The JTs can accommodate 35s without a lift and no need to re-gear..

Ok I’m trying to have an open mind about this video, after buying a new 2024 Gladiator Sport S. Coming out of a 2019 Colorado Crew Cab 4x4 WT V6, we bought new, but we only keep them for 5-6 years anyway. Plus we wanted a Gladiator at first, but couldn’t find one after they were first released for under $48k with hard top, automatic and power windows, never mind telematics for under $55k! But this new one had a $15,700 discount listed at $52,400 so it was down to $36,700! But has everything we needed, including now a 12.3” screen and SOS911 telematics system. Not quite like the Chevys OnStar but close. So far though you listed the ride is bad? but mine rides like on a cloud compared with the Colorado! The only difference is the steering in the Colorado is much tighter and precise, plus the mileage is less in the Jeep. Acceleration seems similar but the Jeep has 3:75 gears to the Chevys 3:42. more to come in a while

The list of complaints here is ludicrous. 1. Ride quality. It's an off-roader and a truck. 2. Fuel economy. I agree. It normally gives me around 16.5 in the city and around 19 on the highway, but it's naturally aspirated with no nonsense. 3. Small bed. Long bed don't survive off road. It's plenty to carry your toys. 4. Passenger space. I have three teenagers and all fit okay even for long trips. 5. Interior packages. It's designed to be super spartan, not a Lexus or Porsche. 6. Trailer Brake controller. I agree. 7. Cabin Noise. Buy a Lexus. Is an off roader and a truck. 8. Price. Agree and dealers don't make it any easier. I got my Mojave fully spec at a discounted price in 2021.

1) the solid front axle is for Articulation (try it - your wife will appreciate it) OFF road. Jeep owners sacrifice ride and steering feel to gain the ability to keep the front tires on the trail 2) If pavement performance is a priority, a mid-size pick-up from Nissan or Toyota will fill the bill far better 3) Jeep = Just Empty Every Pocket or "Jeep makes master mechanics out of their owners." This is the MAIN reason NOT to buy one

Steering is vague because of the suspension setup Its live axle front and rear for better articulation, most 4x4s these days have independent suspension in one form or another As its live axle, you wont get rack and pinion steering. Youll get a steering box which is a tech that has been around for a very long time...yes its vague, but rack and pinion wont generally work in a live axle vehicle

What idiots came up with this list of complaints? Did they forget this is a mid-size truck? And clearly none of them had ever driven a Jeep before if they didn't know what to expect in how it handled. I've had my Gladiator for over 2 years now and it's been a great vehicle. The ride is great, it has more than enough room for passengers, the bed size is right on par with most mid-size trucks, and the fuel economy is not much worse than other mid-size trucks. And mine is lifted with 37" tires. And the complain about interior noise is BS as well, and I can talk on the phone hands-free while doing 75 down the highway with no problem. And of course it costs more, you're paying more for the bullet-proof 4x4 capabilities of a Jeep compared to any other plain old pickup truck, that's a no-brainer!

It had good power and was better than wranglers before it but for my purpose, Jeeps just don't do it unless you buy one as a weekend driver, My awd Challenger has great highway stability and is really quiet inside and gets me through the snow well. Jeeps are nosier and take more effort to drive at highway speeds. If I ever bought one, it would be a 10 year old one, used one for a low price. All that said, I think they're good vehicles but they aren't meant for comfort.

I've owned my 21 Gladiator for 3 yrs, 07 JKU for 7 yrs and a 00 TJ for 6 yrs and I have loved every gas guzzling mile I've driven them. Yes, they are not as roomy as others but that's just something you gotta live with to ride around topless and doorless. As for power, if I want more, I'd hemi swap it before I trade it in on another truck.

It is a Jeep.....the only problem I see is the outrageous price from greed....but that's gonna change soon........ can't wait to get mine this fall. My retirement ride.

This review is a joke if you buy a jeep there are things you understand and when you talk bed length none of the other vehicles are any different. 😂 That’s where I stopped watching.

Here’s my problem with the jeep gladiator and I don’t even own one, but I’m looking to buy one. I am not paying $6000 for adaptive, cruise control and an automatic. That is seriously all I want. I’m not looking for Rubicon or a Mojave or Willys or any of the more expensive models. I’m just looking for a damn gladiator with adaptive cruise control and an automatic. This isn’t a tough concept. I’m not paying for all the other crap. Basically what I’m asking for is what every other vehicle on the market has as a standard and Jeep wants me to pay $6000 for a standard. not happening. I want one, I don’t need one . if a dealer wants to contact me, I’m fine with that, but I’m tired of looking

You're wrong about the trailer brake controller, it's an option that replaces the cigarette lighter socket.

It's a JEEP!!! It's not a luxury vehicle, if that's what you're expecting you should buy a Benz or Land Rover

I love Jeeps but hate them too. It felt amazing and badass driving. I miss the removable roof and getting the sunshine. Knowing you can take it anywhere is comforting, and fun in the dirt and snow. BUT, the interior does feel a bit cramped. There is nowhere to comfortably place a phone mount without taking up a ton of room, and you have to get a higher end model for apple CarPlay for use of maps, as well as automatic windows and locks. Those features should be pretty basic for any entry level vehicle in 2024. My biggest complaint was the seat. My God. The seats were so hard, it felt like sitting on cement. I had to trade it in because it was causing my back injury to get much, much worse. The gladiator is appealing however. They're kinda ugly, but shoot, right now because nobody is buying them, you can get one for 10-15k under msrp, cheaper than most Wranglers or any trucks for that matter. Even cheaper than a little ford maverick! So you get a badass, off-road capable "truck" at the price of a sedan, essentially. Only thing holding me back is that gas mileage to be honest.

There are hundreds of venders that sell products to mount stuff on.. I installed a bar on my dash (made by Vector Offroad) that runs the full length of the dash. It bolts directly on the same posts that the dash itself uses. On it I use Ram Mounts to attach multiple Go-Pros, an iPad (for navigation), my iPhone, the drone controller (i can fly the drone while driving) and even a survival knife and an emergency EPIRB. All permanently plugged into the vehicles 12 volt power. In my JKU I can easily fit enough food, water, camping gear, tool, emergency equipment, rifles (and ammo) for two weeks in the bush. That includes a 50L ARB refrigerator.

All the reasons listed have NOTHING to do with the Jeep, but rather owner expectation management. They expected it to be something it's not. Sounds more like the complaint list comes from people who should have bought an SUV, not an off road Jeep. You don't buy a Mustang and expect it to act like a GT40. You don't buy a Wrangler/Gladiator and expect it to act like a Toyota Highlander.

As a gladiator owner, All of these things are true. There are actually more things, That I could think of. But it is still one of the best vehicles. My biggest complain is quality. Lack of quality.

The number one problem is, the maker of this video has never owned a Gladiator. Number two, You can alleviate most of the ride and steering problems by, lowering the air pressure in the tires to maximize the tires patch on the road. I'm talking about removing maybe 3 to 5 pounds of air pressure. The recommended air pressure on the tire is for hauling maximum loads. I've lowered mine about 5 pounds and i love the way my Gladiator, rides and steers. I also love the way it handles and pulled my 6000k trailer, with no electric brakes, but had to get the electric brake adapter controller that plugs into the 7 pin connector. The Police Man, said I had to have electric brakes to legally pull that much weight.

"Don't buy a mid size pickup 4x4 jeep because it's not a princess car with good gas mileage" - would have saved us more time on this video Like wtf is this opinion list? Just say you like smaller cars with comfy stuff and we will give you a pass, but "most jeep owners hate these things!" are nonsense

If you're buying a Jeep for a smooth ride, here's a quarter, save up and buy a clue. As for fuel economy, it's still way better than the old straight 6, and way better than my old Dauntless 225 V6 4bbl from my 1966 Kaiser Jeep, so don't complain about 16mpg. It's a Jeep, it's square, noisy, bouncy and never made to tow or haul. Flush out your head gear buddy.

I just drove the Gladiator rubicon today and it drives as good as our 23 Tacoma and easier to drive, turn than the frontier. For a review to complain about large off road tires on a truck much less a 4x4 truck shows he/they are of the squishy vehicle nature and have no business in a truck or sports car and should stick to minivan reviews. We are thinking about a rubicon for cross country retirement traveling or maybe just for fun and use our Tacoma for long rides. Cabin noise in the front seat is bad but I can fix most of that easily, the back does not have it.

I'd love to see it as a club cab with a 8 foot bed. And the reason you're not getting more fuel mileage is the more hp the worse the fuel mileage that's the price you pay. Hate to say it but that's a fact.

I’m gonna sum it up in one sentence. You bought a jeep. Regardless of it being a “pickup”, it’s still a jeep and will drive like one. I love mine because I knew what I was getting when I got it. I didn’t expect a fancy truck. I expected a jeep with a small bed lol

😂 makes a video on reasons not to buy and the comment section turned on you. I see your point from the aspect comparing the vehicle as a whole within its class. But the truth is there are certain vehicles that are made for lifestyle and certain ones made for everyday people. Jeeps as far as wranglers and gladiators are meant for off road/ recreational vehicles not designed for daily driving. That’s the same for heavy duty dully pickups, there a work/lifestyle vehicle meant for commercial work or farm land(pulling trailers ). Yet people buy them and complain 🤷‍♂️ regardless it’s your own money and decision
