The gentlemen are back in action!!! That was so much fun. So grateful for all the kind comments here. I’m even reading through each comment to see people’s favourite Sospiro fragrance 🤩
i tried Maraschino the other day.. i was blown away.. i'm not a big fan of Cherry notes in fragrances, but Maraschino nailed it!! can't wait to own a full bottle
i just bought Contralto and Cadenza!! they're gorgous!! Dolce Melodia is prolly my favorite smelling fragrance that i own. Vibrato & Basso are my daily dumb reach fragrances.. they're all incredible
Fatanstic video guys, definitely need to pop by the store to try Pasticio, the short discussion you guys had on fragrance performance made me think more about the current state of perfumery. I find one of the biggest misconceptions in fragcomm is this idea that longevity/performance = cost/quality, a lot of the brands will often ask perfumers to fill the bases of their scents with strong (and inexpensive) ambery wood molecules so it fits with peoples desire and perception of longevity. Unfortunately what I find is that these molecules often overpower the rest of the scent and after about 5-6 hours 99% of what's being smelt is the amberwood base molecule (e.g. Amber Xtreme, Ambrocenide). This is one of the main reasons why a lot of newer perfumes can sometimes smell very similar. The importance of the scent's longevity/performance is very context dependent, but what I usually find is once a scent is pushed to last well beyond 9 hours it tends to get very one dimensional. There are exceptions but these usually require a huge amount of skill and some "olfactic gymnastics/illusions".
Marcelo and Kevin…thank you for your explanation of these fragrances. Just received my discovery set and look forward to reviewing the scents on skin (one by one) as I rewatch this. Keep up the great work! Cheers!
Blind bought Pasticcio after watching this, can’t wait to get my nose on it! I think it will be such a unique addition to my collection. As always, thanks for the amazing content :)
"We are Sparta!!"⚔️ That's my catch cry for all who love to blind buy! You're a lot braver than I am! Hoping that once it lands it hits the mark for you. I love it...hope you do too😇 Thanks for reaching out @mich-shdjjsk, awesome to connect💫
Hello there, Marcelo! The true "Pasticcio" is the Sospiro homepage :) It seems like it was made back in the day when the internet was first invented :) As a German it seems I have to connect with other Geman private citizens via a perfume enthusiast social network to get my hands on a sample of Vibrato... Your video is great as always and got me interested! I will find a way to check out this brand... Kind regards from Berlin! Hans
Great to hear from you Hans. Not sure if you saw the new “Perfume Discovery Series” for Une Nuit Nomad that I created recently? The idea is to follow with me in real time as we explore some beautiful Perfumes. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uZFPKNlxGvw.htmlsi=HRdkVGXt-bWSa4nN I’m currently in the final stages of setting up a similar Discovery Series for Sospiro and you’ll be able to test these out alongside me🤩🥳 Once I have further details, I’ll make sure to let everybody know 💫🚀
Lovely video, gentlemen! The differing opinions on which way the fragrances lean is always an interesting topic of debate; glad to hear each of your stances. I am excited to try pasticcio and contralto. Dolce melodia is delicious but smells almost just like Sacred Bond by Reinvented, to me.
Love your content, love the dynamic between you two as well. Such a fun to watch duo, and very knowledgeable as well. I have yet to buy some Sospiro, so these videos really do help! I know I've asked it before, but how's that Discord coming along? If needed, I could help out with that.
Sorry for the very late response to your comment🙏🏽 Firstly, as always a massive THANK YOU for your support and positive vibes⚡️💫 so happy that you enjoyed this episode and yes it’s fun filming alongside Kevin🤩 Confirming that the NFC Discord server is in full flight and going off 🚀 Always good to hear from you @KingKiloOfficial
Thank you gents for this one! One of the few "hyped" brands I haven't checked out yet, probably because I tend to veer away from hype but a few of these (Maraschino and Pasticchio) sound like my vibe as a gourmand lover. Maybe Vibrato too as I love aromatics. A decent set is in order, it seems! :)
Great to hear from you Mike and yes, these new editions (that came out early 2022) are all super impressive by my book. Thanks for jumping into the conversation @mikeshandling8074
Great lineup, I was so sad they ran up of samples in Exsense when we were there, but for that time my personal favorite is still Opera Grande 🥰 As usual, a pleasure to see you two guys
Marcelo and Kevin, sorprendente! I have been contemplating getting a Sospiro in my lineup and you both just absolutely convinced me that I need to embark on it - like right now! I know you mentioned "Do Not Blind Buy" but I work the opposite - I think I am too much of a risk taker. But hey, when I am getting my recommendations from amazing and knowledgeable gentlemen such as you both, I don't think I need to question my strategy at all 😉 Keep the content coming, KM!
"We Are Sparta!"⚔️ clearly that's your battle cry Kartik! I look forward to hearing where you begin your Sospiro journey; knowing that I would instantly expect you to say "Pasticcio"😉 Thanks for reaching out Kartik, and so happy that you enjoyed this episode and very much appreciate the words of encouragement 💫
Ah yes, I've had a few comments come through making the same point! Clearly Basso is a winner. I will have to create a follow up production and make sure to include💫 Thank you for taking the time to share @jasvirsandhu1158, great to hear from you
Hello Marcelo!! This is Stephanie from Chicago!! U guys just made my day,my day off Saturday,u r so much fun watching u together,Sospiro it’s my Top top Fragrance from all,and of course Dolche Melodia my signature sent.
Hello Stephanie!!! So good to hear from you and so happy that you enjoyed this episode alongside Kevin and all things Sospiro. I have to say that it makes sense that Dolce Melodia is your signature scent....for me this fragrance is Pure Magic💫 Awesome to connect! Thanks for reaching out @stephaniebobrov6784
Excellent reviews, gentlemen! Sadly, I am still on the fence with Sospiro. I don't dislike anything. I am just not moved by anything either. I did blind buy Vibrato and it's nice. I think we are in a mini renaissance as it pertains to independent and niche producers. Many things are calling for my attentions. Anyway, always good to see the dynamic duo! Cheers! 🎉🎉🎉😊
Great to hear from you Vic; interesting that nothing ‘pings’ for you within Sospiro Yes, a lot of people talk about Vibrato, but as I mentioned in this episode, for me Pasticcio is the hidden gem in the collection… if you get a chance to test this one out, I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts on it Thanks for reaching out Vic. Good to connect with you and yes, it’s fun to be filming these episodes alongside Kevin💫⚡️
Try Sospiro Deep Ocean Amber, really different than their other offerings and it’s an odd fragrance, I normally don’t really care for their releases as well but this is one of my fav scents atm
Hey, guys! Awesome video! I personally love, Sospiro. Very strong, nice smells perfumes. They all a little on feminine side to me, maybe besides one, my favorite from the house - Basso. My favorite five 5 Tenore 4 Pasticcio 3 Vibrato 2 Dolce Melodia 1 Basso
Hello Marcelo, since Pasticcio is your favorite fragrance I would like to clear that it doesn’t mean “Mess” it’s a classical music term from the Baroque period in opera.
Great to hear from you Pablo and yes, a big recommendation on Erba Leather. I own Erba Oud and it's very good too. However I would recommend to you Pasticcio before Erba Oud. The former is a lot more complex and dynamic. Perfect all year round fragrance. But if you get the chance to test this side by side, I would be curious to hear your thoughts and perspective on this. Thanks for reaching out @darllord12
@@TheNicheFragranceCollector Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge, Marcelo! I will go for Pasticcio! Yesterday, I got a sample of erba oud, and although I love oud, I didn't like the one that Provenzano selected. It is a bit too "fecal." Is it from India?
Welcome Pablo! I just know that Pasticcio will be a good companion to Erba leather😍 Not sure where the food comes from… But I do know that Christian is partial to Indian Oud so this would be no surprise
Yes David!! We should have included this one in the line up!!🤦🏽♂️ I've had a lot of subscribers mention Basso...clearly a big favourite💫 Thanks for reaching out 👊🏽
Hey Gentlemen, love your videos. Especially your Bois 1920 in Florence. Reminded me of our trip there. Does the Erba Leather come in 2 different style bottles, I noticed online there is the black velvet one as well as a blue to purple fade. I know that bottles styles do change in the Xerjoff family, but was wondering if it’s the same fragrance or if there is any difference at all? Thanks again and keep up the great content 👍🏻
Grazie Mille💫👊🏽 greatly appreciate the support @ch_the_3rd72 Not sure about the bottle colour variant? The only ones that we have in Australia (and that I have in my collection) is the Black one....you've now made me curious as to what the other one is about...?🤔 Great to hear from you💪🏽
Great video guys, but one BIG omission no Basso, I love that scent and it really should be here, I know it is similar to Isola Blu, but to me it is better and cheaper and there is enough difference that if you like both there is room in your collection for both.
I hear you! It was so tough to only line up 7 and yes, I can see that we made a huge mistake in not listing Basso as we've had a few subscribers raise the same point!! 😥 I will have to make up for this and create another production!!! Awesome to hear from you @simply_psi, thank you for jumping into the conversation💫
@TheNicheFragranceCollector thanks for the reply and I do appreciate your dilemma. With such a prolific house with so many great scents in their line up it would be an impossible task, and between you an Kevin you've highlighted some of the less hyped fragrances in their line up and added a few to my musg try list. Thanks again your posts are a different level to most Fragrance reviewers, you don't just regurgitate note breakdowns from manufacturers or Fragrantica, you explore how scents make you feel, the emotions and memories olfactory stimulation provides.
In music, a pasticcio or pastiche is an opera or other musical work composed of works by different composers who may or may not have been working together, or an adaptation or localization of an existing work that is loose, unauthorized, or inauthentic.
What a great lineup, and bottles are also so colorful. As with most people I wanted to start at Vibrato, but never bought anything from this house. I have a question Marcelo. If one owns Perris Monte Carlo Cedro and other BOIS 1920 Cituses like Magia and Classic, would Vibrato still be non-redundant?
Awesome to hear from you Aditya and so happy that you enjoyed this episode...I always love filming alongside Kevin; he's a fun guy to hang out with. In regards to your question; 'no' is the quick answer. You're going to find that Vibrato is really a step away from the classic 'citrus' construct that you might be use to (in the fragrance's you mentioned)....for me all the Sospiro's are super complex and have a lot more going on than what the 'notes listed' are telling you. Even classifying them as 'Woods' 'Aromatic' is to simplify their performance. My recommendation is to test it out on skin and see if they resonate with you. In this episode there's been some comments coming through that some people don't rate the Sospiro's at all (which surprised me); so I've come to realise that they're not for everyone. Good luck Aditya, I look forward to hearing from you once you're discovered and see how they work for you. Always good to hear from you mate👊🏽
@@TheNicheFragranceCollector Hi Marcelo! Good morning! Yes, I love when you make videos with Kevin, both of you are so much fun together😃. I especially like Kevin, when he transforms from a FragNerd to being a kid in a candy shop (his enthusiasm), when in some episodes you ask him for a list of fragrances and he gets some awesome ones. Thanks for the suggestion on Sospiro. I do not own any Sospiros as yet, but my feeling is some people might think they are on the expensive side, hence go for other alternatives and not because they do not like the fragrances. Also, Sospiro does not get as much hype as let's say PDM or Creed. I shall try out Vibrato mostly in sometime and let you know. Coming to BOIS 1920, I was not able to find Classic Paradise here in India, so went with Classic and it too is a banger. Good to have these discussions mate
the only thing i don't like about Sospiro is that they repeat the colors of their bottles . My top 3 : 1) Dolce Melodia , 2) Contralto (bal D afrique expensive dupe) 3) Basso
It's funny that you write that.....I feel the same way😂 I want to line up my bottles, each with there own colour nuance😉 (I have to remind myself that once I'm wearing the fragrance it doesn't matter anymore😏) Great selection on the line up BTW🥰 great to hear from you @MauriMoore
Awesome to hear from you! Good question but not sure! I did notice that they can deliver to the US: sospirointernational.com Maybe this is an option? And yes both Argos and The Harmonist are incredible...awesome range of fragrance's Great to hear from you @extraordinarilyaveragereviews
Fear not! Preparing a new Discovery Series production with a focus on all things Sospiro and have placed Deep Ocean in the mix😎 Great to hear from you @oliverriezebos
In fact this date marks the start of the race!🚀 It’s on this day that we predicted that we will one day be filming with Christian 🥳🤩 Let’s see how we go🧐
Sospiro honestly is a glorified dupe house at niche prices. I got basso and its pretty much a copy of Roja Isola Blu. I only opted for the Basso as it is a better price/value proposition. Vibrato is also not bad but again a copy of Bvlgari Tygar which is harder to buy in AUS and cost more $$$ than vibrato. Anyway thats my take on the Sosprio Brand
Appreciate you jumping into the conversation @ss-xl1cc I personally rate this House really high. I do feel that they have unique fragrances. In fact they were actually the first to release to market the "Erba" series that Xerjoff now have (long story on this; promise to elaborate one day on it as it's super interesting) Also in relation to Basso and Isola Blu, my understanding is that Basso was actually released first (because I purchased this a few years ago) whereas Isola is a recent release....but I could be wrong It's true that Sospiro is at the top end of niche but for me personally I also feel that they over deliver on performance and overall scent...but hey, that's just my thoughts 😬 Awesome to connect @ss-xl1cc💫
@@TheNicheFragranceCollectorI think your right basso was out first... As regards to the erba (sospiro/ xerjoff) story, you should definitely make a video on that, would be so interesting
Strange how they can't keep the consistency the same, if it was my brand I would want it to stay the same always, or be transparent if any reformulations
Well never mind. I got a sample and it smells just like Roja oligarc if that's how you spell it. I'm pissed not really a fan. 5 outa 10. Glad I got a sample. ALWAYS SAMPLE guys.....
Ah Yes! This was a big mistake on our part😬 as we were setting up, we had a few on the table and then we culled back to the seven that we talked about… Clearly Basso should’ve remained on the table😉
