You would need a quiet screw compressor, and many diesel trucks have built-in air compressors. You need diesel in an Apocalypse because you can make your own vegetable fuel.
For the price of 3 or 4 battery packs, you can get a great air compressor that will last for decades (unlike those batteries). Don't really see the need for a needle scaler.
For important daily use pnuematic tools I prefer SO impact wrenches, military contract surplus drill motors, and the cheapest die grinders and sanders I can find. I also have an HF returned pop rivet gun, the better one. Works great after fixing it when new.
Based on how long my air ratchets and impacts under 3/4" drive have sat unused for years with the switch to cordless, I see no use for them. Air drills still have their place in heavy drilling. Air die grinders are still a must, cordless are handy, but no where close to the power of air. Air hammer is a must and a needle scaler is handy as hell.
