A visit to a new location is always a treat, Li and I are both enjoying our time here in Taoyuan (a large city in Taiwan, about an hour west of Taipei). My BIG TIP from today though, to any and all of you planning a trip to... anywhere! - Prioritize time making local friends. It is worth it, every time.
Visiting the Old Town of Bei Pu is great, and we could possibly have stumbled across it on a map somewhere (or TripAdvisor?), but how could we know which place exactly? What to do? What to order? or Which exact restaurant? Even Li able to speak Mandarin, she is still a visitor here along with me, and so I just am so grateful to our friends here for helping us quickly cut straight to the fun stuff. We are able to simply entrust the day's itinerary to our friends, and we can sit back and enjoy what this day of life will bring!
I had the pleasure of meeting Yi Lun last year, you can hear the story in today's video, and it turns out that we both have a love of bicycles/fitness and exploring, AND a passion to learn about local foods! It works out well, and I am looking forward to more hangouts in the future! For now though, thanks again Yi Lun (and Germaine!), we really had a lot of fun today.
