The bad news is that you’re on your own and the bad news is that everybody around you has something to say about what you’re doing wrong. To that I say: There is no path, so walk wherever you feel like going and improve on things YOU feel you should improve on.
I'm turning 20 in just over 8 months, and this video really helped. Starting this year, I'm prioritising my health and working out, my passion for music and the trombone (I'm applying for a year in the military band) and my growing passion for fashion and political science (the latter of which i would like to make a career in). Thanks for the video, Tim! I'm certain this won't be the last time I watch it
Dawg, im so glad you exist. This shit all genuinely made me feel better, i went through a really bad breakup a few days ago and i really needed to see this
I'm so happy I made productive decisions about my finances that changed my life forever, hoping to retire next year.. Investment should always be on any creative man's heart for success in life.
Thanks for the advice! I'm new to financial planning and wasn't sure where to start. Any tips on finding a reliable financial adviser or resource to guide beginners?
As a beginner, it's essential for you to have a mentor that is verified by finra and SEC to keep you accountable. I'm guided by a widely known financial consultant Stacey Macken
I just graduated as an electrical engineer at the age of 22. I’m very into fashion and am gonna build a brand called asad alex (based off of my Arabic and American name). My goal is to flip the world upside down and change it for the better. I’ve noticed that everything seems to have become so degenerate and over the past few years I have become more religious and changed my ways. This video is proof that I will accomplish my goals and so everyone that sees this comment I want you to know that I will achieve my goals inshallah and you can achieve whatever you want in this world if you put in the work and dream big enough.
Probably one of the most grounded "what I wish I knew" videos that I've seen personally. Love your style and editing touches in your vids too and this one was no exception. Good work man
This video really helped me. As a 26 year old who still lives at home and has a ton of student debt, it’s really easy for me to feel like I’m falling behind and recently had a severe panic attack because of it. I now have the motivation to really try and change my circumstances. Thanks Tim :)
Been following you since I was in college and I especially agree that not caring about what others think is top 1 on my list that I regret. I enjoy life a lot better now that I am true to myself. I am in my mid 20s and married with child. A lot of responsibilities on my end but still managing to take A LOT OF RISKS. Things have been working out pretty good lately but I'm not stopping here and will do more not only for myself this time but for my family as well.
I was laid off and had plenty of bills to pay and I didn't know what to do. I was desperate to find a source of income. After getting laid off I invested the money I saved over the years and created a small business (keep in my mind that I had mouths to feed as I am a breadwinner). I, of course, found a better job with better pay. The small business has been readying me and my wife to open a new business. I had a lot of help along the way but it has changed the way my mind works. I don't want to get in deep with it but I hope this will help you. I'm still trying to build a better life so I can only speak for my experience.
A lot of creators will make videos about this kind of 20s life advice stuff, but this is probably one of the best distillations of it that I’ve seen. Never understood the attachment random internet people have to creators until my friend intro’d me to your channel, at first just for the fashion content. Thanks, Tim.
I’m 26, $300K net worth. Been saving 50% of my salary, investing in stocks & living below my means. My goal this year is to be more serious and consistent with my investments for long term. I’m worried with the numerous bank failures as of late, am I better off reinvesting my savings in the stock market or do I wait?
Exactly what I’m doing again this week. The smartest thing I’ve ever done was having 30% in cash to buy on the way down in 2021. It hurt watching 30-40% discounts drop to 50, but grabbing Google, NVDIA, Apple, and others near the bottom has paid off
Excellent info. My problem is when it starts dropping I think it's going to keep dropping for awhile and I wait so I can get the best deal. Next thing I know, it's back up again
Today is my 21st birthday and I do feel really lost. As someone who suffers from mental health problems and doesn’t really get along with family, I’m just blessed that God gave me another year in this cycle we all call “life.” I do wish I could celebrate like other people who do their 21st birthday but I’m not that rich. I am thankful though for another year.
I think there is a huge level of "survivor bias" here. The vast vast majority of people who try to quit a 9-5 job to follow a dream of freedom (such as a content creator) do not succeed. It is a combination of skill, luck and privilege.
I'll be 26 in a few months and I've been demotivated in life due to many factors affecting it (unemployment, lack of savings, weight gain etc) but thank you for this video Tim! I really needed that push to keep moving forward
It's honestly uncanny how perfect youtube recommended me this video. I'm almost 21 and about to dropout of uni cause it's not for me. But at the same time I have no clue what to do after that. Plus I feel like my parents might be a little dissapointed. This Video reminded me that there is alot more to life than I can see right now. Thank you
27 with a college degree that I don't use with a job that I hate and currently so lost😢. I have no idea what I like or what my real calling is , wish y knew what I like just to put all my effort into it
When I was younger, I came to believe that figuring out what you don’t like is easier that figuring out what you like. To get to a point where you actually like what you do, I think you need to keep trying different things. I’m my case, after trying different jobs, I eventually ended up learning new skills online that I now use professionally. I don’t use my degree at all. The main idea though is that a lack of action won’t change your situation.
@@Spades340 Thanks a lot man I am thinking the same thing and try to learn skills online. But I spend so much time thinking what should I study or what do I like that I don't start. That last sentences really hit the nail
Always enjoy a life advice video, Tim. I'd also say that although it's good to think of your future self, it's important not to end up sacrificing your present self to it; life's too short not to cut yourself some slack in the moment!
Thank You Tim I’m turning 21 in feb and life had started to take its toll on me thinking i am 21 and i have nothing together, hence , I had started running From problems . Harder choices are just harder to commit cause doing the right thing is often harder than doing the right thing
As someone in their mid 20s feeling really stuck at life, these are honestly great tips that i didn't expect from this channel. Some of these really confronted me with the way i think about myself and stuff. Thank you for this video!
Your 20s is basically the same as your teen years. It's a formative time in your life. Learning about yourself. Figuring out what you value. Planting seeds for your future. The only difference is you have a bit more money and freedom compared to your teen years. Your 30s is when you actually begin that "stability" period in your life. Your 20s is for the most part an experimental period.
i'm 34 this year, and I agree with everything in this video. i also just started some of the things you shared, never too late. thanks for the good advice & affirmation.
Never followed the crowd. However in order to survive & flourish in such an environment you need to be able to sacrifice many things. They're cruel to whoever they can't blackmail into obedience. That's why powerful political leaders always focus on a room full of sheep that need a shepherd. In order to protect yourself from the flock, you may be heading towards loneliness and poverty because only those who don't have anything get to keep everything worth having.
Video like this help me a lot Thank you tim. Thank you so much, i lost my father at 20 years old and my mother at 26 years old. I'm 27 now is so hard lost both my parent at such young age. For me everytime i found someone video so helpful you guys just like my parent ❤
I still struggle alot with Point 5, Nobody cares - because all my life they did care. I was the fat Kid back then in school, got bullied pretty much my entire school life. Even after school in the first two companys i worked at (which had ALOT of toxic coworkers) it continued. Now i'll be 33 in March. I still struggle with it, even though i lost most of my weight (almost 90 Pounds, i'm very close to a healthy weight now), take more care of myself and got a bit into fashion. But my past really did hurt me in this aspect. It will be really hard to get over it, if i'm even able to get over it. If somebody still goes through something like me: It will get better, if you start working on yourself. It's freaking hard but will be worth it. But some things may not change - like the way you handle specific situations. For me, it's realizing that nobody now cares how i look/what i do.
this video came at the perfect time, i was stuck in a spiral just yesterday about the position i am in my life right now, not knowing exactly what i am doing with my life and this helped me gain a huge perspective so thank you for this video :)
I don't really like the hard life tip. I'd rather focus on the good stuff now, enjoying life, not working too much. Who knows what's gonna happen ? I've heard so many stories of people working their ass of just to get sick and die the day they retire. If I had kids, thing might have been different but right now I work part time, don't spend a lot of money and I am happy with that.
Totally agree, enhancing focus for a particular things is the simple advice to move further instead of doing so many things in a short of time, very inspiring! 🔥
I think for the point about nobody cares i think its a matter of "yes and no" like on a spectrum because its naunced? Sometimes I've had people point of things with my fits to give their opinion (good or bad) or notice patterns or whatever. But I think a better way to go by this is reflecting to yourself whether you should care about others opinions so deeply. I would prioritize cultivating your own self esteem by validating yourself. Just my 2 cents. Other than that, great video!
Hey Tim, just want to say I appreciate your video! Question: do you use any supplements for your hair? Im not sure if you know anything about hair loss
yo tim really random but can you make outfits inspired by the sakamoto days manga its a pretty cool series but the way the characters dress there is awesome
