For everyone who is spoiling Logan in the comments section for no good reason, please do not be a jerk. A lot of people still haven't seen it, so these types of comment(s) will be removed. Thanks.
It's such a fucking shame we never got the suit, or the real Deadpool on screen with Wolverine. I'm sure Ryan got Hugh to cameo in DP2 but that's not enough...
Its weird how aging works. Even in Days of Future Past and his brief cameo in Apocalypse, I never really questioned Hugh Jackmans age or his looks as Wolverine. In my eyes, he had looked pretty much the same since X2 and X3. He does look noticeably younger in the first Xmen movie but in my opinion, he was a little too young. I would say Wolverine and Logan from the comics always struck me as a guy in his early-mid 40s. He looks very mature, not in an old way but someone who is at the very end of their youth and pretty experienced. To me Jackman still perfectly encapsulates this look and could retain for at least another couple of years. This isn't to say I didn't love Logan or the direction they went with Wolverine. To me it did just kind of come out of nowhere though. I guess from Hugh's perspective he has played this character for almost 20 years and probably just wanted to see it off in a good way before it became stale. A noble movie in the end I think.
No, it's not the last time the characters will appear, but seeing another Wolverine with Reynolds' Deadpool won't be the same and we all know it. It's all just horrible timing. Logan should be the end of Fox's 17 year X-Men cinematic universe.
How epic would it be if Cable grew up in Eden with the other mutants from the Logan timeline and goes back in time to reverse everything with Deadpool??!😱
Peter1x2, that would be awesome sauce! It would be interestingly to see how they play out that story, since Cable is alwayd about stopping Apocalypse (and they wasted that option on a lame plot/villian).
tuggboat66 well compared to figure skating, isn't it a lot more violent ? lol .. don't think I've ever seen a body check or fist fight in figure skating . :p
Hugh Jackman had his bags searched at Pearson Int. Airport when he first arrived in Toronto to start filming the original X-Men. His claws that the studio had sent him to practice with showed up on the X-Ray machine . To which the security guard exclaimed "You're going to be Wolverine!" He then got an autograph, and a picture of the then relatively unknown actor. What a way to begin a legend!
For 20 FUCKING years I'ce endured these PG rated fucking Wolverine movies, and just when its rated-r and probably the best 20th Century Fox movie ever released its the last movie Hugh will be playing as Wolverine. You gotta be fucking kidding me. Hugh WILL ALWAYS BE WOLVERINE.
Remember, X-Men has already been split into having alternate timelines so If Hugh decided to come back, they can make another Wolverine movie and just use that excuse. Same with Professor X, he's now died twice in X-Men movies. Death in a super hero movie means absolutely nothing.
Surely a reboot, Probably sticking with Mcavoy and Fassbender as Patrick Stewart has also indicated it will be his last turn as Professor X as well. Be interesting to see who they can replace him with though, Tom Hardy would be my pick but I really hope they let the character forgotten for at least 5 years so when they bring him back there will be less bitching about the recast and more just happy he has returned
Tom Hardy is already almost 40 years old. If they're going to reboot Wolverine they may as well go younger. Especially if they wait a few years. Dont need to see a 44 year old Tom Hardy trying to be Wolverine.
Glenn Danzig was also up for serious consideration when casting the role on the X-MEN film. He was short and buff so it would've been sooooo great! I love Jackman though! He did a great job with it
Logan was amazing. Jackman's acting was on point, you could feel the pain in each move he made, that he was struggling with it. The action scenes were on point, and was definitely surprised by the little girls acting. Her facial expressions really drove her character. I hope they don't touch the Wolverine character for awhile, but they will eventually remake it as Hollywood does for everything, so I wouldn't mind Tom Hardy playing him.
When someone says Logan is Hugh Jackman's last movie as Wolverine do they mean last full movie? Can he still make short cameos as Wolverine in other X-men movies? Heavy spoilers for Logan. Since he does die at the end of Logan it wouldn't make sense for him to make cameos in upcoming X-men movies but Logan takes place in 2029. I don't think the X-men movies will get to that point in time for a while so Wolverine will still be alive in the times of the movies unless they do take place after 2029. It sucks he won't be in anymore full movies unless he's not coming back to even make 1 minutes cameos like X-men First Class or X-men Apocalypse. Just seeing Wolverine on screen for a minute is enough for me.
Allosaurus Rex excellent point I'm curious to this as well he is getting older but you're right they aren't basing anymore movies after 2029 since they were disbanded in 2022 anyways after 7 or so died.
Allosaurus Rex It's has last appearance ever for Wolverine and I think also for Professor X too. Though I think I heard that he'd be up for a part in Deadpool 2.
the main reason why Hugh wanted to quit was because of the weight lifting and diet, he's tired for the past years, and just did the hard work just for the fans, if you watch Days of future past, Hugh did not do much action, it is because i think it was planned and requested by him, it's not easy to get in shape especially when you get older.
Don't read any further, spoilers! [SPOILER] I'm so relieved that there wasn't an end credits scene of his claws popping up out of his grave and him crawling out of it slowly healing. It would have cheapened the tone of the movie, as well as Xavier's death, which by the way, came out of fucking nowhere, lol.
I loved Logan, only change I'd make is drop x-24 wolverine clone for Sabertooth or Colossus and have the backstory that they want Professor X dead for Xmen massacre
X-24 was a stylistic purpose. It was symbolic of Wolvereine's past that any other villain just couldn't be. Having literally himself come back to haunt him is what the internal struggle of the character was. X-24 was perfect for the film. In a comic book, it can be different. For a film, this was better.
I loved Logan and thank you, Mr. Jackman for being the one and only Wolverine! :-D Was the scene when he's holding the X-Men comics a reshoot because you can tell he has a fake beard and wig on. Perhaps he was filming the X-24 scenes and had already cut his hair and shaved?
dope video but there's some other things you could've included! - Sabretooth not being Wolverine's brother (Origin Series) - Wolverine can't actually die from an adamantium bullet despite how he got put down in Wolverine Origins. Adamantium can't pierce itself, so it would really just bounce off his head. Wolverine actually tries to cut adamantium in the comics and also in the 90's X-Men series (i think) and it just causes him immense pain and vibrations are sent through his bones. - Even though Hugh Jackman is taller than the original Wolverine, Ultimate Wolverine is 5'9 and since MCU is its own universe it kinda works out
Finally someone has talked about his claws. I've been ranting tinny friends about how they're different but know one pays attention. It ages until someone actually made a point that the claws are not consistent across all the movies. Although, I wish they did a mix of the newer claws, sitting up higher where it was show in the first few movies.
they need to tell more about his origins in the 1800's and early 1900's from how he was coping with his power from a kid to Civil War and then jumping to World War 1 and World War 2 I would really like to see that
By a landslide, Logan is the best X-Men movie so far. I'm so glad they made it rated R and they were free to show an amazing story with top notch actors. Is a long as movie but damn was very entertaining with a great sad story.
If you look at the fan art drawing for wolverine you see the claws are there in the fore arms just outside the body, an annotation would be good there. Its also reminisant of wolverine busting out of the weapon X program with the head piece.
I hope X-23 become a major part of upcoming x-men films, preferably without all the other little kids that were in Logan. If they go into the future and have them all as adults that'd be cool and all, but there's something about having the little girl shred people in half that sits real well with me. She was so cute/deadly and fantastically portrayed the character
Yes! OMG do a part 2? And talk about his "neck" weather it is or not coated with a adamantuim? Personally I don't think it is and I have read a few comic's in the past that have stated as his "true weakness" IF it was he couldn't move his neck right? Same thing w/his claws. I know when he has them extended , he can't bend his wrists. Also mention that they're suppose to be the lengthen of his arm. I think they're suppose to be a "foot long" ? I am thinking back to an old comic book too.
annihilationgamingTM his claws are 9 inches and his whole spine is not coated in adamantium. If it was he wouldn't be able to bend over or move his neck
Im glad Hugh Jackman got the Wolverine ( Logan ) movie he deserved. He loved what he did, loved the character and was awesome in it. It's sad that we wont see him as Wolverine again but at least he left in the way he want it. About the movie. It's FREAKING AWESOME!!
I saw "Logan" and if you want to see comic book movie, don't watch it... it's not comic book movie, it's much more serious and slow with not much action at all. I really liked it.
LMAO I don't think you saw the same ads as we did, as well as the movie itself. Mangold purposely changed the tone so that it wasn't a typical comic book movie. Wolverine even fucking addresses that IN THE MOVIE himself.
Omg.... this whole "it's not a superhero movie" thing needs to fucking stop. IT IS 100% A COMIC BOOK MOVIE. A more accurate thing to say would be that it's not your *traditonal* comic book movie. Have you ever read a comic? A lot of them are like Logan.. Logan is a phenomenal Wolverine movie, while also being a phenomenal movie, period. It has plenty of action that is true to the character and it's beautifully brutal.
Knew most of this. Jackman's height never bothered me, never realized Logan was short in the books lol I liked that in X-men, they got the look and disposition down. I never expect a movie to get canon just right, they rarely do ;-p
Hugh Jackman is an awesome actor. Plus he's a nice guy. His apartment somewhere, was next to a chefs apartment. She had a cooking show there, and invited him to be on an episode. She then proceeded to make fun of "Wolverine" cause he couldn't handle really spicy food. He laughed harder than she did. Also, his Van Hellsing was spot on.
I did know all of those things! please do a video about the things I don't know about wolverine. I'll send you a list asap so you can get working on it.
Saw Logan 2 nights ago, it was fucking awesome, and Jackman really outdid himself on this. One of my favorite movies instantly, only sad we won't get to see this legend on screen :( (probably, you never know with actors :P)
I've watched alot of these videos on Wolverine. None of them mention that he was also Death of the four horsemen in the early 2000s. They always talk about how he lost his adamantium at the hands of magneto, but no one talks about how he got it back as a horsemen.
The Dark Claw is by far one of the best alternate versions of Wolverine ever!!!! If not THE best version. And I agree, it would be soooooo badass to see a feature length film about The Dark Claw!!! I think an animated movie would be the best way to do it tho I think.... While live action would be cool, I just don't think they'd be able to really get all the looks and features of that character and his villains down the right way, if even at all, using special effects/make-up/cgi/etc etc, but doing an animated movie/trilogy/saga(or even show series) would free up their limitations and allow them to get past all the hurdles and challenges that doing a live action version presents/drums up. I think if enough of us fans were to write in to the comic creators of The Dark Claw, and post about it all over every outlet of social media to get the hype going and our request/wants to go viral, then we could probably get them to start working on making it happen.... After all it's our response and desires that cause them to do things like that for us, based on the popularity of it and how well it's received among us fans.... The same way that it kept Wolverine around in the comics and gave us all that it has about him since he was first introduced.... The same goes for Joker! He was supposed to die off after just the one issue he was first shown in, but the editor saw potential, and then when he was supposed to be killed off a little while later, that decision was tossed out the window when they saw how well received and popular he was with fans. Even Batman had things like that happen and fans were essentially the ones who decided what happened with things in the comics/Batman family and alternate versions/movies/shows/etc etc. So The Dark Claw could definitely become a possibility and reality if we rallied together and made it known to all of the powers that be it is something we want to see come to life on screen....
Fun Fact: ORIGINALLY, Wolverine's claws were not bone. They were actually solid adamantium blades implanted into his forearms when adamantium was bonded to his skeleton. That little factoid was later retconned.
True. As a matter of fact, that was a retcon as well. In the original design, the claws were just in his gloves. However, later the editors felt that this was lame because "then anyone can just become the Wolverine with the right gear". So, then they show his claws coming out of his hands.
Dan Kester Indeed. Personally, I think the bone claws are kinda dumb, because, while Logan is a mutant, it doesn't make biological sense for his body to grow these spikes of bone that pierce through his skin. I don't know. That's just my opinion
deadpool and wolverine had a great fight in the ealry 90s and that made me love both characters even more. i hope like hell they have an interaction in the up coming films
