About targeting: to identify a boss you can also click on the orange boss skull + HP bar on the top-right of the screen, and it selects the corresponding boss! (learned this recently) Loved the video!!
About Black Lion Chest Keys: No, you cannot simply "jump" to the specific story steps on a new character. You have to play through the preceding chapters and steps in both the Personal Story and HoT to get to the ones rewarding the keys. Even in case of LW Season 2, you have to complete the necessary Episode. If your only aim is to get more keys, you are better off doing map completions, which have a 30% chance to give you one as a reward. Also, the core story rewards 3 keys, the third coming from Chapter 6 (The Battle of Claw Island step)
I knew them all. "I'm a guild wars 2 master." One thing to note with the targeting, with illusion bosses like HPA, you can click on their name in the event menu on the right hand side of the screen and it'll take you to the real one each time. That is even quicker than looking for the giveaway tell or cycling
While I didn't learn anything new, this was a great list! Couple of added notes: The party Level number will turn blue and display WvW rank while in WvW maps, even if your party mates aren't there with you. And for Drizzlewood Coast - Some red zones can be fast travelled to in the same way, but they must be currently under attack by the good guys.
when using "/emote @" for targeting it will not only display targeted text but your character will also automatically face in the direction of your target when starting the emote animation - that is assuming you and your target arent running around, then it is obviously less effective.
Although it is a nice collection of tips, those were hardly any new stuff for me - although I relearned about the @ for emotes just recently. There are other less obvious ones you could add, like - you can move the location of your shared inventory slots from top to bottom by dragging the bag icon - you can reorder you pinned achievements - drawing on your minimap - adjusting the number of items to craft in the crafting panel by click and drag up & down over the number - a lot of little tricks about filters and searches in different windows - targeting a boss through clicking on the health bar displayed in the event panel on the right I learned about some of those from similar videos of laranity.
For Drizzlewood Coast, you can click the red territory to drop in if the assault is ongoing in the red territory, which you will not see the NPC icon or message if you just port in to the map.
If you have a lot of loot bags, typing ‘o o’ in your inventory after doing a meta event brings up bags you can open making inventory management a little easier.
All cool tips. Playing too long definitely shows.... The creating table hack is especially useful in guild halls that have scribing unlocked as quick bank access. Targeting boss enemies like Amala, click her white health bar in the "orange event" portion of your screen and it'll automatically select the real one or other boss you're fighting.
@@HeroineDark yep, during Deimos. I know the real Saul gets a health bar since he needs to stay alive, but you're right, I can't recall if the clones have health bars. They're at least way easier to spot!
Not sure how commonly known this is, but if you’re crafting items for research notes, you can click the button “salvage as crafted” (or something like that, I don’t have the game open at the moment), and it will salvage as they are completed so your inventory doesn’t get filled.
Dayum, not me sitting here thinking 'i will know everything on this list because I'm built like that 😤' then learning the bank is accessible from every crafting station in the first minute or two zzz GGs 🤣💀🤣.. great video brudda and congratz on the channel growth! 😎👌
maximum sympathetic that you are a gamer and also do fitness. it is the best private employment. so you never get bored with two time-consuming hobbies 💪🏼✌🏼
I'll leave a like and a comment. I knew all of these but this is still pretty good info for newer players and we need more people who new players can watch
The first one got me. I group with people so rarely that I never realized those numbers display useful information, haha. I've never been able to get a good handle on tab targeting, sometimes it seems like the game makes strange choices for which mob to target. Good video.
For the longest time I had run group content of all kinds and always just thought "what do all those weird numbers mean?" before I finally put the pieces together.!
didnt know about more than half of these, especially the bl key farm! i have 4 toons i just boosted to 80 and never played them again. im definitely farming those bl keys now lol. thanks for the video!
Great stuff! To add to the first two comments the level icon will display wvw and I believe pvp level and you will get black lion keys from doing map comp. Great stuff, I recently found your channel. Do you have an account tour / character showcase ? Would love to see your main characters and what your into in the game.
Thanks! I haven't done any sort of account tour or anything--I mostly just play my main power berserker you'll see in most of my videos. I did show this character and a couple of my alts in my "Learning DPS Rotations" video, if you care to see!
14 seconds in and already learned both tips lol. Just started playing a couple days ago so my information about the game is limited. My brother plays as well he actually just started again he played before any of the dlcs were even out back when the game wasn’t free.seen him click the disperse materials or whatever in inventory and here I was clicking stow away on all my materials one by one. I miss even small stuff like that so the video was definitely helpful for me who isn’t even that observant.
When you're new, there's SO many tips to make your life easier you'll learn. As I mentioned in the video there's already lots of other videos out there, so I was really trying to find things not covered elsewhere. But off the top of my head... -Once you have more access to more maps and it's easy to get around, doing three "Daily" tasks (in your Hero > Achievement panel) will get you an easy 2g per day. -You can Shift+Click an item, skill, status, etc to "ping" it in chat, which will allow other players to mouse-over, or even preview equipment on their own character. You can also combine this with the /wiki command, so you can type /wiki, then ping an item, and the wiki will take you straight to the page for it. -If you haven't yet, pick up some higher capacity bags from the Trading Post. 15 slot bags are cheap. You also get a free 24-slot bag for subscribing to the GW2 Newsletter in your Arenanet account profile. -The "Sell Junk" button on Merchants will sell anything with a dark gray name, which is stuff that's really only meant to be merchant feed anyway. -If you're out and about and run out of gathering tools, click the WvW button on your toolbar, then go to Obsidian Sanctum. Easy access to merchant, bank, etc. Then to leave, open the WvW panel, and click the button in the bottom right, and it will take you back to the *exact* spot you were before. -You automatically have the starting zone for all races unlocked, which are right outside of their respective racial cities. Lion's Arch also has portals to each city. If you don't have access to Lion's Arch, you can enter the PvP lobby, and there's a portal to Lion's Arch there. -If you open up the map, and are fairly zoomed in, you can mouse over the icons in the top-left (for Vista, Point of Interest, etc), and if they've been revealed, they'll sparkle on your map to show you where they are. Hope this helps and welcome to Tyria!
@@avoxtr thank you so much and they were all helpful, especially the gathering tools one because I’m always like oh look ore im gonna go smack it. Bam pops up no gathering tool equipped and I’m just like 🥲 I was literally sitting here telling myself two seconds ago okay when I finish this I’ll go here and get tools just to end up forgetting to get the tools, then I’ll still continue to get distracted by all the things I can gather and I’m like omg why did I froget the damn tools I want to chop the tree. Yeah “sell junk” sells just trophies right? Which as far as I know don’t have any other purpose that I’ve seen because I don’t see the option to ever sell them on the market and you can’t store them for crafting materials either.
Yeah Sell Junk only sells items that have virtually no value outside of being merchant feed. You'll see a lot of trophies are given purely for the sake of selling to merchants too, like those from Fractal Encryptions!
You probably heard this one too many times but I just have to say it. You are literally a real life Norn who discovered RU-vid and decided to forge his legend by making videos 🤣💖
I wasn't aware of the specifics where to get more keys as well, although I knew that there is more than just the level 10 one. Just kept casually going through the story with my alts.
Look up Black Lion Key on the Wiki, and there's actually a section that shows which story chapters reward them! I found some of them require you to progress the story enough to reach them, others let you jump straight in.
Only downside is it doesn't work on the "Meta Events" chests where they have to report how complete they were. But still, it helps for pretty much any other chest!
you have stretch marks on your biceps just like me, this happened to me from my experience with steroids when the muscle grew excessively but quickly :)
By default you can have two. You can have up to four active with the gem store item "Additional Crafting License," which of course isn't free, so that's the real advantage to swapping them out for the small fee in-game
I'll give it a shot myself next patch! I've left it on in the past and even double checked the wiki + official forums when writing the script for this. So if nothing else, I know it's *supposed* to work as described. Wouldn't surprise me if it's broken or has other parameters it's looking at right now though
