I love that you said you needed attention because you weren't hugged enough as a child! 😆 So true, I was hugged all the time, but I'm happily an introvert. My husband was raised in an abusive household: physically, mentally; ugh, such a long miserable story. One (of thousands) of things his sister (who is very close with my husband and their parents) has told me, is that he got "a LOT of beatings" as a child; but my husband refuses to acknowledge any of it, doesnt deny it, just literally will walk out if it's brought up and will get angry if the topic is pursued- he will back up his parents regardless, on anything, politics, family secrets, an-neeee-thing. It's seriously the craziest shit I've seen. We've been married for 15 years this month, and I've watched his whole family pretend like they were the fucking Brady Bunch the whole time. I know a lot about his family, and despite loving my husband, I can see the damage. He was also (obviously) the mean kid and was a mean adult for a long time. He was always the one with the dirty jokes (the type that make people uncomfortable) because he enjoys the shock value. He used to thrive on always being the asshole, enjoyed being unpredictable, didn’t mind if people or animals were scared of him, liked to be passive aggressive then say it was " just a joke," to the point that I told him he had to get therapy or I'm out. Anyway, that wasn't really the point (he and I are working on it), my main point is that I can definitely see that need for attention oozing out of him. Across all facets of life. He will do anything to help anybody, at any time. He will help you move, help you build a deck, give stuff away to people, help if your car is broken down, he will spend his weekends fixing your car for free, etc, but then he'll make sure he talks about the nice thing he did that day (there's no way you'd ever catch him doing one of those "pay for the guy behind you" type of things, that's too anonymous 🤣). One time, I asked him if he really needed to feel "thanked" for everything he does, and he shrugged and said, "Ya, I think it's nice." We've got two little boys still (5 and 10), and he's a great dad but it took forever for me to drill into him that you do not raise strong young men by dominating them. I hated when the boys would start "wrestling" with him because he'd hold them down longer than necessary until they weren't having fun anymore. The same with tickling (continuing after they've asked him to stop, this REALLY bothered me, but I really hate being tickled). As the boys got older and played more rough (our 5 YO son, who was 4 at the time, is a scrappler, and as soon as he's recovered from being hurt, he will go back for more; where our older son would just quietly watch the play go bad from the sidelines), someone would always end up crying. So I started to really get onto my husband about it, and he said, "If they get hit by someone, I want them to say 'Shiiit, my daddy hits me harder than that'" (referring to our then 4 and 9 year old sons). That didn't end well. Now, he's very mindful of how aggressive he is with the kids. But he agrees he needs to talk to someone about why he feels "angry" all the time. You raise strong young men by hugging them as often as possible, being predictable, wise, and kind, and letting them know they are loved. Then, they'll grow to be bold, kind, and wise young men. I know everyone probably knows this, but for the people in the back, HUG YOUR CHILDREN, SO THEY WILL HUG YOUR GRANDCHILDREN.

@Gypsy 2007 All the skeletons in their family closet with zero accountability has made me crazy since moving here 😆. It took my SIL years to escape the manipulation. Unfortunately, we moved BACK to my husband's relatively small town in Southeast Alabama (where his parents live) in 2013, and that's when I started to really become entrenched in the toxic family dynamics (his mom ruled the roost, dad came in second, my husband was the golden "mean" child, and his sister was the "whipping girl"). My husband and his sister are opposites; she is "sugar and spice, and everything nice" (highly agreeable, never good enough, always apologizing, always caretaking, always forgiving those who never ask for forgiveness and thus don't deserve it), while my husband grew up to be "snakes and snails and puppy dog tails" (always picking at the flaws in people's appearance, making fun of individuals with disabilities, racist, aggressive, unpredictable, enjoying creating fear in others by scaring them etc, this included animals, being retaliatory, soaking up the attention he gets from being the asshole and being considered unstable to an extent, and most agregiously: being the one who OWES an apology, but never asks for forgiveness). He is his parents' favorite. Most of those loathsome characteristics have decreased significantly, and I can tell he is actively working on what he calls "getting his head straight," but as far as I'm concerned, he's got a lot of self-inventory to take, and a lot of forgiveness to ask for so others have the chance to forgive him. For example, my SIL used to say he was "mean" to her growing up, but that word has changed to "cruel" over the years; one time their mom was so mad at my SIL that SIL tried to flee the home, and their mother handed my husband his car keys and demanded that he go run over his sister - obviously she is still here, but this story just ends there, with my SIL chuckling softly. My husband's ability to clean up his own mess is going to have to start with holding his own father accountable, too (his mother died in 2018). He also has three daughters in their late 20s and early 30s (he had his first at 17, married her mom and had two more) who have stated unquestionably that he was physically abusive to them when they were young (making them wrestle and with him and with each other until one would start to cry and have to "tap out," making them exercise for punishment, beatings, they were terrified of him). Mind you, everyone in the family acts like NONE OF IT EVER HAPPENED, despite his older daughter just now seeking therapy. I commend you on leaving the situation with your ex. I'm not a doctor, but I have two masters degrees in education and psychology (I know, not a usable degree, I'm just very nerdy), and I ignored aaallllllllllllll of the red flags. I'm ashamed of that because I should have known better. I'm pretty sure I ignored them because I was exempt from the treatment I'd watched him dish out to others. I only put my foot down once I saw those characteristics coming out to our boys. For example: once the playing started to go bad and I intervened, my husband would retaliate by saying "I wouldn't have done (insert action here) if HE hadn't (insert any slight a 4 YO might do: laughing, yelling, hitting too hard, etc). WTF dude? He's FOUR YEARS OLD. It got so bad that my older son would sit bad on the couch in silence, watching the train wreck rather than join in while our little one would kamikaze-style go back for vengeance himself. I wish I'd just followed my instincts and bailed, to be honest. I've been in the family long enough now that Ifeel complicit in ignoring the elephant in the room. But once I totally lost my shit and told him every terrible HONEST thing I thought about his behavior and his parents' behaviors (and I've thought a LOT about them over the years 😆), he said "Wow, I don't even know why you've stayed." He apparently didn't KNOW I knew everything. Once it was out, it was out, and he asked me to give him some time to address all of it. The boys are crazy about him, and he is crazy about them. Perhaps my respect for him will return. I'm not sure; a lot of damage has been done, and while everyone else may forgive him for his past cruelty to them without him asking for forgiveness, I will hold the grudge FOR them until they get a real apology. He and his father seem to believe that you can do and say shitty things, but once you QUIT doing and saying shitty things, everyone should pretend you didn't spend years DOING AND SAYING SHITTY THINGS without you ever having to own up to any of it. I am not a religious woman, but atonement is in order.

I always questioned David Carradine's death. Based on the way he was tied, doing what is believed he was doing, it makes no sense that he would be in the closet alone. There had to be other people in the room when he died.

Cruel world here, hello Dr Das. Great video, thank you. Shooting accidents are so common. Alec Baldwin matter comes to mind. Since childhood I disliked David Carridene, he always seemed odd to me. What a terrible death. There must be psychological problems attached to these kind of practices? Gosh, huge problems with the Gayes no doubt! Kobie Bryant was a great person, a great tragedy for his family. Dangerous Personality Disorder, I would very much like to learn about it from you. Steve Erwin, oh my heart breaks. What a wonderful person. My fathee always said that he is abnormally reckless. My father also said that SE had psychological problems, so your initial reactions to his conduct must have valid bases. A freak Stingray... What a loss to the world as he was a kind and loving man. Thank you for this most informative video.

Cher’s eulogy of Bono was quite moving so I almost forgive her for introducing auto tune into song performances. (Do you believe in life after Love 🙄) She just helped to ruin modern day music. Irwin was a heroic man who spread excitement for animals conservation all over the world! Yikes bless your heart. John Lennon said: “ History is what happens when you’re busy making plans” didn’t he? Kanye? 😂 No famous women deaths? Careful. 😢 Jane Mansfield? Carrie Fisher on the plane? Etc…

I like your willingness to share something cringe-y that you did, explaining that you didn't understand back then. It's very relatable in a way that most people avoid. . I am diStuRBed by any combination of death and anything sexual. That is the worst one on the list IMHO, while all bad/sad. I admired Sonny Bono for the way he jumped into his endeavors with both feet and dog paddled 'til he made it. A singer (a rather unlikely one at that), a restaurant owner, and a politician are the ones I learned about. Pretty amazing when you think about it. 😊

Phil Harman was also popular because of the TV show NewsRadio, and I remember being completely shocked by and intrigued about how he died. Of course, even then, I was a true crime junkie 😆. Anyway, Hartman was a good comedian. I felt a moment of loss when I found out about his death because...well...he was funny. It was a tragedy, for sure, but DAMN, it was completely unexpected, and it was all over the news. The context was even more unexpected, so I IMMEDIATELY wanted to know every terrible detail.

I honestly don’t know how it took so long for someone to kill Hartman. I remember seeing interviews with him and he was shockingly arrogant and condescending to the other performers he worked with and to his wife on the red carpet. He was a classic emotional abuser who manipulated and didn’t love Bruno. Nobody deserves to be murdered and I wish she had had the strength or sobriety to just divorce him. It was interesting to see that all those clips of him snapping at Steve Martin, being condescending to Conan O’Brien, body shaming actresses on SNL are not available. Not even his fat shaming Oprah Winfrey. Anyway, it bothers me that he is depicted the way that he is. Based on his exes, his colleagues, etc. he was manipulative, sadistic and should have been divorced. Too bad he abused his wife to the point of thinking murder was the only way she could even the score.
