I loved Blitzball! I played so much I maxed out all my players. I think I spent more hours on that than I did the actual story. Made the World Champion super easy to get

My "favorite" (sarcasm very much intended) type of ultimate weapons to get in RPGs are the ones that require you to beat enemies so strong that by the time you earn the weapon you've long since moved past having any real use for it.

Getting Lionheart on disc one still makes me feel like a badass.

I was def the kid playing VIII and refusing to advance the story until I had crafted LionHeart. What a fantastic game I remember that being.

I studied the strategy guide to learn how to craft the Lionheart in disc one when I was a kid, greatest achievement ever! Everytime I replay Final Fantasy VIII, getting the Lionheart disc one is mandatory

I remember playing Final Fantasy X one Summer. I was going for a walka's ultimate weapon and I just remember playing blitzball over and over again just trying to get the sigile. Playing blitzball while watching Microsoft, Sony and Nintendos E3 is one of the memories I will always have.

I actually got my hands on Lionheart early because I thought it looked like the coolest weapon yet. Took me a good 15 hours to get all the materials due to bad RNG, but I pulled it off.

Wakka's fully powered ultimate weapon isn't hard to get, just time consuming. For me, in FFX, it's Tidus' weapon because I just can't beat that chocobo, and Lulu's final sigil because I've never been able to dodge more than 10 lightning bolts in a row.

I remember finding a work-around to get the Jupiter Sigil, not so much a work-around as more of a pseudo-exploit. The AI for Blitzball wasn't very intuitive, so by scoring a single goal and then passing the ball to a sideline team member and just not moving, the AI wouldn't try to steal the ball, instead it would just wander around the center of the arena. This became much easier and consistent to do if you leveled Tidus a bit to perform the Jecht shot on demand, even more so if you managed to score the Jecht shot 2 from a tournament. One goal and you could simply wait out the timer; made this mini-game much more tolerable for me, as the constant huddle timer stop was annoying af. Still, this was less painful than dodging the 100 lightning bolts for Lulu's onion knight. Cheers!

Most difficult for me on FFX was Tidus, getting Wakka was somewhat enjoyable for me... but it might just me since I've also enjoyed getting Lulu 😅

The lightning dodging is pretty easy imo because of the weird exploit where it always strikes in that particular spot on one of the screens. The butterfly and the chocobo one were harder for me just based on the pure randomness of it all. Still, none of it surpasses the madness that is the jump rope game in ff9.

@4:00 this was actually the easiest one for me but i already had the parts from playing blitzball before i got the base weapon. the are a couple of amazing players you can recruit early in the game and a couple of wakkas team members are pretty dang good if you can lvl them up.

Let's throw in here a minigame that no one ever mentions: cactaur hunting in FFX given how it is required for Rikku's ultimate weapon. Its ten boring rounds of red light/green light with ten cactaurs whereby you have to hoof ten spheres back to a rock sometimes four huge screens away. Its just mindless, boring, meaningless busy work. And good luck if you haven't got No Encounters on your armor yet because you will be fighting the same seven monsters about three hundred times.

The Blitzball was super easy to get. You just had to keep resetting Blitzball until the reward on offer was what you wanted, recruit some OP players, crush everybody, win...

World Champion was never hard for me to obtain since as a sports fan, I loved Blitzball. As soon as I was able to, I immediately began playing. Once I had access to the Airship, it made recruitment that much easier; reset the League and grab free agents. I watched the Resistance Weapon grinds live with my FC's former leader. I knew it was a challenge and a half and by the time I reached that point of the game, Endwalker was closing in, so I didn't bother going too far. I'm hoping the Manderville Weapons don't include some insane grinds, but knowing Yoshi-P and co, there's going to be something we're going to have to do just to obtain their best levels by 6.5.

There is no way you found blitzball harder than finding going back to the farplane to find a chest, locating baaj temple, and dodging 200 consecutive lightning bolts in the thunder plains. Lulu's weapon was a nightmare. I never even changed my original team in blitzball only person I ever recruited was wakka. Even yuna's was harder to obtain than wakka's.

Somewhat unrelated but I remember on my second playthrough of ff7 I wanted to 100% the game so I followed a guide and got all the best stuff for my characters. After using it to beat ruby and emerald weapon i went to fight sephiroth. What I did was had 4x attack combined with a materia that doubled its effect and copy cat on the rest of my team. Idk how many attacks it took but it wasn't many. Tl;dr I beat ff7s final boss while technically using only regular attacks and it took less than a minute. I kinda laughed at how ubsurdly easy he was at that point

World Champion isn't that bad if you know the trick where you reset the blitzball data after you get one of Wakka's overdrives. THe RNG is easily manipulated. As for the lightning dodging. At first it seems hard but there's a trick to that as well that makes it really easy. Lists like this are subjective because they are either hard for the player or tough for the player depending on the player's knowledge of the game.

You should do one of these on ultimate Limit Breaks. Particularly, Quistis from FFVIII and her ultimate Shockwave Pulsar. Blue Mages always are difficult to get the best abilities for, but this one is on another level. What quistis needs to consume to learn Shockwave Pulsar is the item Dark Matter, which has several steps to obtain. Firstly you need tool refine skill which is only available for Siren, a completely missable Guardian Force if you don't have anyone junctioned to Draw at certain fights. Then you need 100 curse spikes, which are a grueling grind to get from powerful monsters that spray status effects at the party.... Or Triple Triad. And it was worse if you were trying for it on the Playstation instead of the PC remaster, as then you also need Siren to be level 100. The reward is the only move Quistis has to break damage cap, though.

If you're having trouble with Blitzball, here are the steps you need to take to make it easy: 1. Get the airship and recruit Brother. 2. You win. Optional: Learn the Jecht Shot on the boat to Luca.

As a ff14 player for many years, I can say that the hardest weapons to obtain are by far ultimate raid weapons (specifically when content is current, not years after release). But if we're talking about relic weapons, certainly the ARR zodiac weapons. The book step alone with hunting logs and fates takes several hours, and unlike resistance weapons, it doesn't get easier for the 2nd, 3rd or x amount of weps you want to get afterwards. It's just as painful the 2nd time. It's also worth noting the stats pretty much are irrelevant so it's straight up just for glamour purposes.

As a final fantasy XIV subscriber, I can tell you that the resistance weapons are a MF' er of a hard grind. It takes a lot of time commitment to level them up. I spent so many hours just getting one sword up to max level. I highly suggest anyone trying to level up these weapons, do not get in a hurry and enjoy their beauty when you're done. With final fantasy XIV it's not about the level of the item, it's always about the glamor game

Blitzball became the only reason why I actually revisited FFX... Omega ruins & box monsters became my home and friends for a while, after leaving all regular content aside to win with my "Independent team" Svanda, Linna, Kiyuri, Miyu, Ropp, Zev Ronso and the clasic duo of forwards... Like MegaMan Vollnut, I still wait for a Blitzball game on it's own (X-2 is an empty mini-game in comparison)

Honestly, for me, getting Tidus's ultimate weapon was _far_ more of a pain in the butt than Wakka's. For Wakka, it was just grinding through a relatively simple mini-game. For Tidus's, you had to deal with that obnoxious Chocobo race with a 0:00 net time. First, I absolutely _loathe_ action games like this. But with the final game's stacking of random movement, stunning birds flying at you, and the necessity to hit sufficient balloons (preventing just running really fast towards the end) just made the entire process an thoroughly unenjoyable experience. With Blitzball, at least a little bit of skill made each game easy. The Chocobo race was largely luck since the variable movement and balloon placement was random.

Blitzball remains the worst thing I've ever encountered in FF this side of "Draw".

If you attempted this abomination of a mini game, then you know this is the very definition hell incarnate. Lulu’s thunder skips is right next to this.

Blitzball really isn't as much of a burden as people make it seem. You can also cheese it by scoring the 1st goal with Tidus and Jecht shot. Then manually swim the ball INTO your goal. This will force the opposition to swim in circles and take no other action. Easy stuff

I actually enjoyed Blitzball. I've gotten so good at it that it was easy for me to get the Jupiter Sigil.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the Ragnarok form FF V or the Excalibur II from FF IX.

I guess i didnt even notice the grind for world champion. I just enjoyed blitzball. So I more so stumbled upon it at the time.

Could get lionheart prior to leaving balamb city if you really dived head first into the card game. Some people what till deling city. However one of the fishermen in balamb had elnoyle cards that convert to energy crystals. These in turn convert into pulse ammo

I'm not sure if it counts as "Ultimate Weapons" but they were the best of their content tier. And I mean the weapons you get when clearing the "Ultimate" difficulty fights, the latest being the Dragonsong Reprise, and the hardest fight in the game by far. Clearing it is the hardest challenge in the game so far, way harder than getting any relic weapon.

World Champion is very easy to get as Blitzball is pretty easy with Jecht shot. Get 1 goal with jecht shot then pass to a defender and sit at your goal to run down the clock. The other team will never attempt to get the ball back.

I did the poll, but I've not seen all of the trailers or kept up with what's been given about the story. I'm mainly just bummed that the game looks like FFXV or whatever that game was about "Chaos!" I was hoping for something a bit more anime or JRPG-feeling than the current direction (though not in combat...I never want to return to turn-based combat, lol). In fact, the story feels eerily similar to XV's. I'm not psyched. I do need to get my hands on Crisis Core'a remake, though. Forgot that came out.

I got world champion and all the reels legitimately on the PS2 back in the day, I just save edit them in now on PC, I'm old now I aint got time for 200 hours of Blitzball.

I don't see how the devil I managed to obtain the Lion Heart in FFVIII as a kid. I played the original PS1 version and didn't have access to internet or a strategy guide back then either. And I clearly didn't know what the devil I was really doing back then either regarding the game's system.

Blitzball is my #2 favorite things in any final fantasy. #1 is Triple Triad in FFVIII

Respect to your opinions, but I got the gastro fork but never Excalibur 2 so I'd say that's the hardest from 9. Also, I always enjoyed blitzball, so it never felt like a grind. I'd rather play that then race chocobos, dodge lightning, or catch butterflies (but I can't remember if those tasks were for sigils/crests or the actual weapons)

For me, the worst will always be FFIXs Excalibur II, not because it's hard, but because you have to speedrun the whole game to get it and it's quite useless since you can only use it at the final boss fight, also speedrunning through any RPG take away all of the fun out of it, it's just something you would only do for the achivement on modern consoles or PC.

getting those bozja weapons were a pain. the amount of dungeons and raids u had to do was kinda insane and for some reason i decided to get them all. i think because at the time i didnt have aanything else to do while waiting for the next expasion

Disagree on the blitz ball being hard. Score 1 point then sit inside your goal and walk away while the time counts down. Easy to cheese, but also easy to win if you play seriously as well.

I use the cheap method in winning blitzball, so i guess wakka is one of the easiest to get. Driving the drunk chocobo on the other hand is a nightmare. They say it has a way by just steering it to one direction but it just doesn't work for me. So as you can guess i got everyone's except tidus'.

Wakkas weapon is debatable given how people feel about Bliztball. For me, I personally enjoyed going after his Celestial Weapon because I actually love playing Bliztball. However, Tidus and Lulus weapon I wont even attempt. Get 0.0 on the clock for Tidus as if controlling that janky Chocobo isnt hard enough but now I also have to dodge 99% of the obstacles and basically grab every single balloon? Yeah no. As for Lulu, dodge lightning 200 times in a row while I have no single way to check how many I have dodged and also cant get hit once otherwise I start over? Nope, not even worth it.

I can see people not liking the sheer amount of blitzball you need to play for WC just for being monotonous, but being difficult in any way, not so much. Granted, I didn’t quite get it at first myself, but after a couple runs of FFX, I realized how to manipulate the AI, and I don’t think I’ve lost a game that wasn’t that initial one against the Goers since. Again, playing that much blitzball is still a problem, but now it’s just going through the motions for hours.

You can skip the Final Fantasy VIII card game to get pulse ammo and Dragon Fangs, you can obtain laser cannon from Elastoid on the 2nd laguna's dream, and then convert it into pulse ammo, and you can obtain dragon fangs from T-Rex on Balamb's Garden Training Center before you leave Balamb Garden to Timber on Disc 1.

Honestly once i saw a guide on which blitzball players to recruit winning became so easy just tedious tbh. Getting the trophy for filling out everyone's sphere grid felt WAY harder just because it's a grind fest

i loved wakka's ultimate weapon.. using the attack slots overdrive you hit 999,999 damage 15 times if you got 2,2,2 on the slots and that was not hard to do.

Except none of the Shadowbringers Resistance relic weapons actually relied on "daily or weekly caps". In fact none of the steps really relied on RNG at all, especially if you were doing the steps outside of Bozja.

Wakkas weapon was easy and fun, wasnt even tough to get. Dont start paying blitzball until you can recruit Brother and Rin then you are good

Doing resistance weapons current content before it got nerfed was insanely ridiculous, but I did it, soon as I finished it they nerfed the grind lol

I was going for the platinum in ff10-2 and I gave up because there was too much of a input delay to dodge all the lightning consistently

I feel the the Resistance Weapons for 14 were done dirty in this video as it didn't show off any of the weapon glow which (besides the stats) is one of the big reasons to get them as you can show off what you got to everyone in the area at the time. They don't mean much to some people but they are a grind and they should be honored as such.

Unpopular opinion: i love Bliztball 😎 and i'm never tired of it 😍 so World Champion was and will always be one of the easiest ultimate weapons for me to get in FFX. Rikku and Kihmari will always be the worst of all for me.

Liked blitz ball and there is only a few characters you need to make a killer team like rikku's brother so for me it was pretty easy/fun to get. I hated Tidus weapon the most out of everything because I don't like racing, especially when there is annoying obstacles.

Lulu onion knight should take Wakka weapon spot. at least blitz ball were fun to play with

And the thing is, Final Fantasy doesn't hold a candle to some other games in terms of getting ultimate weapons. Because when it comes to annoying ultimate weapons to get... BIG TIME MAJOR LEAGUE annoying ultimate weapons, you have to stand in awe. IN AWE, of the all time king of difficult to get ultimate weapons, Legend of Mana. Legend of Mana requires a grind and a farm like none other, one that will take FAR beyond a single playthrough to complete (in fact, at least one item has to be farmed on the hardest difficulty, which isn't available until AFTER beating the game), gathering hundreds (underline HUNDREDS) of items. And that's just step 1. Step 2 requires you to use those items in your smithy in a VERY SPECIFIC ORDER! If you're off by even one item, it ruins the entire thing. Plus, you have to be lucky. The RNG of certain items can screw you out of an ultimate weapon, because the game just decides at random to misfire certain items without telling you that it's happening. So you likely won't know if it happened until you're done using each and every item and you don't have the stats you wanted. In other words, you have to spend 2 to 3 hours forging and tempering the weapon, and just pray that everything works. Otherwise, you have to start over. You did save before starting, right?

I'd add the weapon from defeating the hidden boss in Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep. Never beat that guy. The second best weapon was from beating Vanitas' Lingering Spirit so you got his key blade in black and white and helped stats to fight No Heart or No Name. Whatever he was called.

Please, seriously, Wakka? Out of the entire team there, Wakka's sigil is the easiest to get the moment its an option. You dont even need a "winning team". You just need access to the airship and you're done. Reset the league so every team is set to lv1, and restart the leagues until the sigil is your reward. Then go to the airship, recruit the pilot (Brother), and you pretty much win 75% of all games. His speed is absurd, his shoot is ridiculous, and even his defensive abilities have him constantly beat enemy strikers. He'll level up so fast by the time you're halfway through the season he'll be several levels ahead of everyone. And hell, if you really want to make sure you win, recruit either Miyu (Moonflow) or Kyou (bridge on djose temple). Both are free agents and start with a respectable CA stat. But again, with Brother this is very optional. nah, Wakka has no business being mentioned on this list. Tedious, yes. Difficult... not remotely. Not compared to Catcher Chocobo or 200x lightning dodging

Always hated it when Devs hide a strong Weapon behind the optional Superboss, which is even stronger than the Endboss of the Game, just for the LuLz FFX Ultimate Weapons, i'd hade chosen Lulu's over Wakkas, Wakka's not hard just random, Lulu's is just hard with the 200 Lightning Dodges in a row, even the Chocobo-Race could be cheesed if you know the ''trick'' behind the Birds and Balloons whats with the Weapon for Steiner for which you must speedrun the game? xD

FFIX's Excalibur 2 is what kept me from playing the game. The OCD completionist in me absolutely hates having a time limit that spans the whole game. It kills the game's ambience and storytelling for me because the time limit will always be on the back of my mind.

In ff8 you can get it earlierer. Thats not true you can get adamantine from adam tamai at the beach of dollet. If i remember right lvl 30 and higher. Energiekristal fron el noire cards and fireteeth from grindel(under level 30) in the forst near balamb. So you get the material after timber and make it in dollet, as first possible option If i remember right.

I think A Realm Reborn relic still the most taxing relic weapons to get in FFXIV. I will say the most hardest to easiest (currently, EW still not count). Zodiac > Eureka > Resistance > Anima.

To anyone who would dispute the first entry in favor of Caladbolg or Onion Knight: Let's be honest. Any of these three is a perfectly valid candidate. I would have picked Caladbolg since I am what the internet calls degenerate scum (I enjoy blitzball), the Thunder Plains can go die in a fire, and most of all, whether anyone wants to admit it or not Catcher Chocobo is an exercise in categorically unfair random horseshit.

Im quite surprised that you picked Wakkas weapon from FF10, as both Lulus and Kimahris (crest & sigil) are ALOT harder to get! Dodging maaany ligtning bolt in thunder plains for Lulu, fail once and you're back to square one... And capute blue butterflies and avoid red ones for Kimahri, also insanely hard compared to a few Blitzball matches... With just some easy team building you can win almost everytime. For me the lightning dodge is by faar the hardest, still to this day I have not gotten that done.

I am tired of everyone's saying "bkitzball is so hard." No it ain't. It is a fun calming game If you plan your strategy straight, you have no problems. The hardest part is the lighting in those darn planes. 131 is my record. Always get ousted off beofre I can finish it.

"Recruiting and Developing a winning team" As someone who always keeps the base roster for the Aurochs and always wins I find that hilarious. Even while dragging around dead weight like Botta and Keepa Blitzball has never been difficult especially if you unlock the jecht shot.

Even as a kid I had no trouble skipping ultimate weapons if they were BS to obtain. If the time/effort to get it outpaced the time to beat the hardest fights with lesser equipment, then I don't care. I'll hit that boss 2-3 extra times than spend hours trying to get 1 weapon to make that fight last 1 minute less.😂

Resistance were one of the easiest relic weapons to get in ffxiv. Zodiac > Eurekan > Resistance > Anima Manderville weapons seem like they're going to be easier as well with the first step being a tome grind again

The hatred I have for Blitzball can’t be emphasized hard enough. That damn sigil NEVER appeared. I played nothing but Blitzball for a solid week after doing everything else and that damn thing was just never an option. I gave up. 20 years later and I still hate Blitzball.

For FFX, Lulu's sigil is about 1000000000000000X harder than Wakka's. I know most people find Blitzball hard, but I personally find Blitzball extremely easy. and while it does take MUCH longer, i'll take length of time over difficulty any day. Imagine getting to 190 lightening strikes and then getting hit. I'd smash my TV.

I honestly think the ARR relic weapons were probably worse to get than Bozja or Eurkea. Clearly the hardest ones to acquire are the Manderville weapons though. Because they require you to suffer through hours of pure nonsense. /sarcasm
