We Filipinos stay awake till midnight because of so much joy pouring from our hearts, relatives arrive, most kids go out Carrolling, and theres Christmas parties like everywhere, then after that, when you get home theres still so much Christmas spirit around which will cause you to forget about sleeping

We celebrate dec. 24th dinner time at 7pm with familythen 12midnignt we eat the main celebration with family again, then around 2am you go to friends house to drink til 6am... on the 25th of lunch there will be another celebratory lunch, and also sometimes dinner w extended family then after dinner you go to friends for more drinking... basically the whole ber months, you would have drinking session w friends every night or every weekend... and you would be invited to at least 10 christmas parties from workplace or your partners workplace or your moms or dads workplace, etc... also nobody tells you but new years eve is actually part of the christmas celebration... on dec.31, we would do what we do on christmas again which is have dinner at 7 and supper at 12:30midnight after the fireworks at 12:00midnight... and jan.1 we do lunch and dinner w fam again... its crazy!

We Filipinos have big midnight feast (noche buena) specially Catholic families, in time when people are coming home after attending the midnight mass.

"simbang gabi" is what I want to accomplished , its very hard to wake up at the very early of the morning, I only finished 3-4 nights. Would do that on December? Theres a lot of Chapels and Churches around Makati, or Go to Baclaran Church.

Queso de bola are the cheese balls introduced by the Spanish it's a ball of cheese covered in red wax it's harder and saltier than the regular cheddar. But now in the market are queso de bola that is cheddar.

During Christmas (Dec. 25) we have a Family Reunion. We celebrate it like a fiesta at our ancestral home. This has been our tradition, cause Filipinos are Family Oriented. Thanks.

3:54 Noche Buena is all about gathering of family and friends. The bigger the gathering the more lively This is also when Christmas presents are given/exchanged. I've tried it, nothing in the world like it.

Most sleep early then just be awaken by their companions or alarm clock just before midnight to partake of the big meal 😁. Others just merely while their time away doing board games, playing comp games, drinking and just about anything to include opening of gifts while waiting for midnight 😂. I love completing simbang gabi every year. I dont have particular wishes every time but sometimes my heart’s desires just come true after completing them. I hope that i would be able to do it this year too despite the awful handling of pandemic here in the country.

Christmas tradition, we go home to our ancestral home and all my titos and titas, cousins, Lola's and grandchildren.. all in the house. 3 years ago we build another house besides the old house since now it can not accommodate us all because of all of us have partners and children. It becomes our great grand fathers tradition. from just the 3 of his sons (our grand fathers) until it becomes a clan in our generation. The whole house is full and its like feast for Christmas eve and Christmas day. With karaoke for two days, play and pool parties with may cousins and now our childrens.

My favorite Christmas time is when we have family gatherings , cousins , distant relatives , family friends stay together, exchange gifts and karaoke. As what they say " Drink and drink and be merrier because tomorrow we will drink again " .

simbang gabi is a novena wearing a Christmas costume - watching from Singapore. I frankly didnt miss the crowd and it was refreshing to celebrate Christmas here in Singapore. because it was with just really close family in less crowded venues because Christmas isn't as big here as it is there in the Philippines. such a boomer thing to say but year in year out since birth, crowds and three -6 hour carmagedon [no movement of traffic along Edsa] like on Dec 22 when people are heading out to their respective provinces.... yeah, it gets old. so this is my caveat for really liking the no traffic and less crowds in malls here :-)

During childhood we hang socks before Christmas eve cause we believe that Santa Claus will put gifts inside it then we check it by morning if we got one. PS. Now I know Santa leaving gifts inside my socks was my parents 😊

Traditionally "noche buena" is eaten after the midnight mass (Eve into Christmas Day). Literally, this big meal is eaten around 2 am of Christmas Day because midnight mass is extra long.
