Hi .I have a controller(evofox elite controller ps4 type ).It’s R2 button broke.the spring slot for the key broke .I tried replacing it with the L2 button but it was not compatible.I want to repair it ,but I don’t know what type keys should I buy for.can you recommend me the model.
Ok so for those that still have an issue, it might be the one I had. My r2 on my controller kept going off nonstop. Every time I COD or Fortnite my guy shoots without me touching the controller. Sometimes it stopped but he mostly kept shooting. I took apart the ps4 controller. You have to get to the contact points which are behind the buttons, in front of the plastic thats in front of the motherboard. Make sure to take out the r2 & r1 button. Once you get to this clear film, you’ll need Isopropyl Alcohol with cotton swabs. Clean all the contact points with the cotton swab that has been dipped in alcohol. Once cleaned, put back together & it should work as new.👍🏽 Just did mine & it works like brand new. P.S You might as well clean everything with alcohol to save you future trips from opening the controller to clean it again. Merry Christmas & Happy New Years👍🏽
Thanks, man. Controller started sticking for the first time, was prepared to take it apart. But then your video’s progression method actually did enough to fix it. Solid advice, here’s some for the algorithm.
If you want to break your right trigger in rdr2 turn on infinite ammo and infinite dead eye, make sure you have max dead eye level, go into first person and aim down the sights with a semi automatic pistol, hold L2 and spam R2 and R3. Your pistol basically becomes a machine gun but your controller will probably end up broken.
Thank you so much! I was having a breakdown trying to figure out why it worked in the main menu but not in apps. I pulled the L2 button down and blew into it super hard and saw visibly there was less dirt in that crack. I went into my apps and now it works!! I don’t have to get a new controller!🖤🖤🖤
Subbed. Fixed my trigger controls. I have been having problems with my trigger control on certain games especially shooter games. I followed the method where you put tape on the trigger. Although I had to apply tape a couple of layers. Thanks mate!
Showing the screw sizes was very helpful thanks. I think the contact point on my l2 had some dust cleaned out the button not that there was any visible dust. And blew compressed air at the contact point. And bam all fixed responds like normal again.
Thanks for the detailed video! Unfortunately, I couldn't even open the controller, as the screws were too tight (nothing helped lose them), and my screwdriver was slightly bigger than needed. I'll have to get another one.
Thanks man, helping a lot with the cardboard one alone, also pro tip, if you don’t have any cardboard you can just fold paper into a sphere like shape to make it thicker and work the same as cardboard
Thanks so much for this, man! I didn't think the tape would work but it did perfectly. It might be just a matter of time before I have to replace the silicone completely, though. My only suggestion would be to put the reassembly all together at the end of the video. I had to seek back and forth to find the different levels of diss- and reassembly, to make sure I was doing it right. Again, great video and thanks for the help!
These videos were really helpful! I bought 2 very cheap controllers, one with R1 always "on" and the other with R2 not working at all, the first just needed a deep clean on the conductive flex cable with isopropyl alcohol, the other one has visible degradation on one of the paths for the R2 button and the multimeter confirms there's no signal, so I'll order a replacement flex and save 2 controllers from their sentence to the landfill 🙂
Thank you, you saved me from sending my expensive roller for repair that would take weeks to come back. You are the goat I wish I could give you more than just 1 like
The fact that he showed both models of the DualShock 4 is absolutely awesome👏 my R2 would go off out of nowhere and then stop it wasn’t bad or anything but would definitely cause some issues while playing cod and fortnite so I removed the R2 like shown in this vid and it definitely has some sort of dust inside, it all came out with a little brush and running the R2 under water
Thanks. This helped. I was traveling with the controller and the trigger got jammed weird, which made it permanently stuck because the little nub that’s supposed to keep it inside the casing got pushed outside the casing. Upon reassembly the springs were driving me nuts so I tried it back together without them. Works fine so far, will reinstall them if the controller is acting weird. Oddly enough, it didn’t seem like the springs were ever through those side pegs to begin with. So I guess they were just hanging out squished between components.
Hey this is a amazing video that goes over how to fix this problem but my r2 button automatically pressure it self, I did everything in this vid and it most certainly helped me a lot I saw a reduce in the number of times it happens from every 3 sec to not as often now but I still face the same problem any fix or recommendation
My current issue with the 2 Dual shock 4 controllers is that the L2 trigger is always fully actuated once the controller is turned on. It doesn't appear to be an issue with the trigger itself as putting another controller's mother board in the same body I have no issues but if I put the motherboard of the broken controller into a new body the issue is still present
same, these cobtrollers are pathetic this is why pc gaming is better, I have a membrane keyboard which is older than a decade and still have no problems but these contolrers have so many problems
@@javianbrown8627 yes, if only consoles could allow other input devices then the problem would be solved imagine using 10 dollar mouse and keyboard on console or make cobtrollers like ps3/ 360 level of quality
Thank you so much buddy, The 6 method with layers of tape worked ;) If I didn't find this video, I'd have to spend my money for service. Greetings from Poland🇵🇱
My controller's r2 button, when put to an input test online, shows that the button is only pressed halfway, while every other input is just fine. How do i fix this?
My controller works fine and all but the R2 does the work the first time I press it, usually I have to press it 2 times which isn’t good during games. Any fixes?
Thank you so much ! my L2 button spring was out and i clean it all around it and it help so much and it become lika new controller again first time i leave any coment on anny video ! and you get a like from me !
My R2 had 88% to 92% input. I replaced the rubber and it can now reach 100% But if I do not apply some additional strength (even after pushing it all the way down), it merely reaches 96%. L2 is still working perfectly.
I believe you have the variation with the long tail. Those springs normally don't come off, but if they do they go on differently. I remember covering it in another video, but I can't find it.
When im playing racing games, the R2 button are not fully press, like when i check on gamepad test, it's only go to 80% press which is make my car minimal speed and not in full speed.
all others where unclear but yours was brilliant it wasnt to fast you said what might happen you warned us what would happen if we did it wrong thanks 10/10
Simple fix to most problems: Go to quick menu, select sound / devices then press turn off device and click on dualshock 4. Your controller will turn off. Just simply turn it back on
My R2 was loose and didnt want to work in any game. But now did the spring method and added some tape to the R2 button and the white button thing as it was almost cut in half. Controller works now.
Sadly, none of these fixed my Dualshock 4. R2 is still being rapidly pressed on by itself. Now L2 is doing it too sometimes. I'm just going to have throw this one out and shell out money for a new controller.
This issue first happened on my first control which was an overprice overcomplicated aftermarket control L2 went, so I went out and replaced it with a generic ps4 control logitec i think and now the R2 has gone on this one. I play snowrunner a lot if that helps with diagnosis, amd have to constantly hold the trigger to accelerate.
Thanks for the video, My R2 trigger was not working. When i checked the silicon rubber below the trigger it slightly wornout, so I kept a small rubber object above the silicon object and locked the R2 button then the controller started working fine.
