Is it really necessary to submit radiological reports when immigrating to South Africa? I can understand the request for a medical report but feel as if that's unnecessary exposure to radiation.
@@motionenergy808 Very easy to hypothesize, but when reality bites...... I can reliably inform you that there are multitudes of South African economic migrants in the UK and Australia. You have heard of the phenomenon known as the white brain drain from SA? Okay, now you know. The way things are going in SA you too may one day join the multitudes of economic migrants of all nationalities and all hues just trying to live decent lives. A fair part of what make up South African citizenry were exactly that at one point, economic migrants. There but for the grace of God....
Shame man 10 months waiting for a South African visa sounds about right 😅. At least you had the student visa while you was waiting. Where did you apply for your Relative Visa? in SA or outside the country?
So I have a question?🙃 So I've been a refugee for 18 years now, so all my life but I wasn't born here. I've never left the country either. So my question is how does the permanent resident permit process work for me with respect to my situation and also as an aspiring flight attendant who will have to travel out of the country for work?
Hey Tino..that's my daughter Tino in the pic too..I have a critical skills qualification (Bec Hons in International Agriculture) from the UK. Does the automatic permanent residence only apply if you studied in SA? Cool video!
Haha thank you! Sadly the automatic PR only applies if you got the degree from SA. However, if you have 5 years of working experience in a critical skills field then you automatically qualify for the PR.
I'm not very familiar with your field (I'm in engineering and IT) but it might be considered. Have a look at page 17 on this gazette - www.dha.gov.za/images/immigration_critical_skills.pdf
you just made me feel better. i have a question. so can i apply for the PR while im still a student but im studying a degree that falls under critical skills?
What if u are not from south africa and u want to move to south africa permanently can u still get the t2a when ur not in S.A? And what type of visa do u have to get in order to move for permanent settlement
There is other route to get PR in South Africa that is if you have a Refugee status for 10 years you are illegible to apply PR Permit in South Africa by applying Certification Letter first
Thanks for your work sir. Can you inform us about the Permanent residence visa that is taken upon graduation into critical skills fields attained in South African institutions? what are the requirements?
Sure. I wrote an article on this which provides more details but essentially, if you graduated from a South African Uni qith a critical skills degree, you can immediately apply for PR using a waiver that was signed in 2016. More details here : trying2adult.com/applying-for-south-african-critical-skills-permanent-residence-permit/
Thank you Abel. I really can't confirm whether or not using a diploma in place of a degree would be possible hey but the waiver does specify "degrees". You would have to confirm with VFS or Home Affairs to see if this applies to Diplomas too. www.vfsglobal.com/dha/southafrica/pdf/PR-critical-skills-waiver.pdf
Kind of late to be commenting on this, but as a US citizen can I apply for the critical skills visa from my experience as a wildland firefighter in the US? I work for anti poaching in SA and want to become a permanent citizen
I been married since 2009 and applied permanent residence in 2016 at vfs still waiting till now.and now have to applied for temporary residence visa every 1and half year.
I doubt it mervin. Xenophobia feeds off all sorts of factors, but in SA's case poverty and ignorance are huge top of that list. I don't see the economic situation in SA getting any better any time soon.
Okay, thanks homeboy. I'm based in Botswana myself. If you get your permanent residency there with a critical skill, will you still need a work permit. And then secondly, does the spouse of a permanent resident need a work permit to work there in SA?
If you have permanent residence then you have all the privileges of a permanent resident. That includes being able to work anywhere you want in SA without the need of a visa (you are viewed as a local (Black South African) when applying for jobs. It also doesn’t matter how you got that permanent residence. Check out one of more recent videos on the benefits of permanent residence...they apply to you whether you got it through work permit or through your wife. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iOETZCk_DbY.html
Great content Brother salute. I am seeking for information some assistance 😆l overstayed and life happened l got family in S A now but paper work dololo any advice how can l get hold of you ?
Tjo that's quite a wait there...but I have noticed they will treat people differently depending on the type of visa you are applying for and the country you're from. If you're African and you take the marriage/spousal or relative visa route then you will likely wait the longest...
Have been looking out for such videos like this, well explained and direct. I actually Finnish my studies in critical skills area since four years back but I not hear this information but I will be back soon in SA to apply. Thanks brother. You are a genus
Hello, I'm a Nigerian. Please is is possible to come in with a tourist visa to south Africa and when learn one of this critical skill, and the get the degree and apply for the PR permit? Please reply
What are the qualifications for getting a business visa in south AFRICA? I live in the United states and I'm interested in transferring my business in south Africa? And moving to south AFRICA
Hi dear thanks so much for this, i married a south African citizen but he died before 5 years, i have a 9 year old son for him who is also a south African citizen. What i want to know now is can i apply for south African permanent residency been that he's still 9 years???
Hey Tino, what happens when your passport expires and you have a permanent res permit.. Do you have to apply for another permanent res permit to go with the new passport?
Passports are needed to travel internationally so if it expires, you’ll still be able to live in SA... but you’ll have to apply for a new passport from your home country. People are usually able to do this though their embassy or a consulate. It’s generally a good idea to always have your passport handy as a foreigner in any country. I’m not sure where there’s there’s laws against having an expired passport
@@arnold2076 And once you have renewed your passport, you need to take it to home affairs for them to put that sticker that you are a permanent resident
You mean Cape Town is a beautiful country? Lol... Btw, this permit business is interesting. I have a friend of mine that's currently in Zim. She studied anthropology, I think or something along those lines. She did degree in Arts/Humanities. She studied at a university here in SA. She basically wants to come back to SA but struggling. What advice can you give her?
Yeah that's a very tough one. Most Arts/Humanities degrees aren't listed under the "Critical Skills" that SA is looking for but she needs to first confirm that this is actually the case. She needs to have a look at the list of Critical Skills to see if there is anything she qualifies for. Sometimes not all job titles are listed there (my job title is not there for example) so she should also look for people in her field who have similar qualifications as her to find out which skills those guys used to get their visa. But ultimately, if her qualifications are not under the Critical Skills then she will need to look at other avenues because getting a general work permit when you're not under the critical skills list is near impossible cos the hiring company will have to prove that they could not find any South African with similar qualifications. A lot of people who end up in this scenario sometimes sign up for a Masters Degree in SA which is considered a critical skill and then use that Masters Degree for applying for the critical skills visa...obviously you'd need to make sure that Masters Degree qualifies to be a critical skill...If she enjoys academics she might consider doing PhD. If you hold a PhD from a South African University you qualify for Permanent Residency.
Hey Rachel. I really can't confirm hey but the list is not exhaustive. There are certain roles that qualify for the visa but can be called something else on the critical skills list ( a lot of careers in I.T for example). I would recommend that you call your professional body and ask them about whether you qualify for the visa. They are in a better position to address your question.
Hi tino, I’m planning to apply for permanent residency as I study a subject on critical skill list at uct. My study visa expires in Feb. I will graduate in December. Can I apply and then leave and wait outside the country ?
You won’t be allowed to apply and go wait in your home country for the visa. They actually don’t allow you to renew your visa (or upgrade it) within 60 days before it expires to prevent people from leaving the country before the visa is out. It takes about 3 weeks for the visa to come out though so you may be able to apply and not have to leave the country. One of my friends was able to apply for a Critical Skills VISA using a letter from his department that confirmed his graduation date and he was able to submit his application before graduation.
So helpful ! Thanks so much. For the visa I will need professional body registration confirmation though ? Would you recommend applying for a visa and then for pr ?
Either route will work, it depends on your own situation. Yes you will need a South African professional body to give you a Critical Skills Clearance (them basically confirming that you have a critical skill, the right qualifications, and enough work experience)... If you got your degree from a SA University then you can straight away apply for PR... it even has less requirements than the critical skills visa. The only problem is you can only apply for PR if you still hold a Study Visa (or another type of temporary permit).. I ended up applying for a critical skills visa first because my study visa had expired and I couldn't apply for PR while using a visitor's or tourist's visa. After I got my critical skills visa I applied for PR within a month after I came back to SA and it came out after 3-4 months.
I am on study visa in South Africa and studying bachelor of science in information technology my degree complete on 2021 November my current visa valid 2022 March my question is can I apply critical skills visa without job offer using my bachelors degree
Yes you can. if you don't have a job offer you can apply for the One Year critical skills visa....or you can apply for permanent residence. Refer to the articles I wrote on the subjects: trying2adult.com/applying-for-south-african-critical-skills-visa/ trying2adult.com/applying-for-south-african-critical-skills-permanent-residence-permit/
@@trying2adult Can I apply for a Critical Skills Permanent Residence Permit if I'm in the U.S.? My goal is to apply for Permanent Residence right away. Is that possible or should I apply for the Critical Work Skills Visa first, then apply for the Critical Skills Permanent Residence Permit? I don't live in South Africa yet?
R 37,000 per month guaranteed minimum.. How about an individual that is Not receiving a pension yet, but does have significant savings to get by for the 4 year retirement visa? Let's say an individual can prove $500,000 U S. with bank statements s.. Would/ could a temporary visa be granted for 4 years?
Hey there! When you say "You don't have much of a choice" regarding the 2 - 4 year wait, that isn't true. An Immigration Lawyer like myself can assist by getting a court order to compel the DHA to give the outcome after 8 months of submitting. Boom. Share the news. ;)
Haha that's very interesting. My statement was based on the experience of most of my peers, colleagues and other foreigners I have interacted with. I people need to be more aware of the fact that they can expedite the process with the help of immigration lawyers. I will definitely spread the word. Thank you.
Hey there since you're an immigration lawyer I want to ask something for a friend...how can he get a study permit if he have attended his whole highschool here in south Africa using only your passport? He is finishing grade 12 this year

Hi im a South African, in a relationship with a Zimbabwean it's been 4 years well we are married 2 years now, he paid lobola (bride price) and we did a celebration (white wedding) how can we get a permanent permit or to register our marriage, we have a marriage certificate that has no stamp... Bro i am a moroccan and am thinking about moving to cape town and might be opening an busines like car wach ( around 50.000 $ ) can i get a permit residency
Hey Fahd. It’s pretty tough to open a business in SA as a foreigner. You need large investments (more than about US$400,000) and various other requirements. Your chances of getting permanent residency are pretty slim
Hey Izzle. The ZEP visa is only available for people who were on the "ZSP" visa which they discontinued a while ago now. I don't think you can get this right now... but I could be wrong though, it's best to reach out to VFS or home affairs.
Hy just wanna know if it happens u grow up here in SA but u dont hve the documents of ur parents Oringin nd u can't go to ur birth country no ur parents. What are the requirements having all the proof that u grow up here. To add reason u can't go bck to ur birth country coz u wre born as foreign thr too nd u dont have any document to use. Whats the solution in this i need help?!!!
Hi Terence. That’s quite a complex situation you have there. I’m not sure what sort documents they require as proof the best person to speak to is an immigration agency. There’s quite a few out there if you use Google. They usually have free consultation so it’s worth a shot.
This is unfortunate situation u find urself in,SA give kids country of birth but citizenship or permanent residency is traced through ur parents.that is y all after birth they give all 4reign mother's a paper to b processed by their embassy. So that u get all required documents or papers needed to stay in SA.UR embassy will give u better answers in situation like this
If you qualify then it's possible. A lot of my friends apply for PR while they are studying their Masters (they use their BSc to apply for the PR). You should certainly consider it.
I used the same documentation I used for my critical skills visa. You can check out the video here (check the description for links to further details) - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iXoMwkea-XU.html
Hi Ashely I also apply mine this year January 2022 I am still waiting nothing as been changed on the vfs website still saying has been received at DHA … any suggestions or tips l will be much appreciated 👍
I'm not the best person to confirm this but I think US$3,000 per month would be enough for proof of financial means... of course you have to make sure you meet all the other requirements of the specific visa/permit you applying for.
@@trying2adult is it possible to show that you're receiving a significantly large amount of money on a monthly basis from property rental income to get the rich man permit? I am British and my wife is Tunisian. It is objectively impossible to prove that your income is "guaranteed for the rest of your life" as even nation states that give their citizens pensions can become bankrupted, failed states. I have a letter from the government of Hong Kong promising me 32,000 Hong Kong dollars per month which is about 3500 dollars US. Can I get the permit and then swap it for permanent residency?

It is time to migrate to south africa. People are starving. Jobs do not recruit any more. twice as many homeless people in a short time. yet companies are closing down. More housiing is empty because people cannot pay the bills. It's now or never. The government can move everybody with a grant of 5000 euros per person. We've lost trillions already so this will be a quick recompense.
