TheGpeace5 The dates are as per the Indian Calendar, Saka Samvat. Accordingly, the festival "Ambuvachi" falls in "Aashar " month of Indian Calendar & June of CE. The dates vacillate between 6th of June to 8th June generally and the finally ceremony is concluded on the 4th or 7th day of the day, generally that day falls on a No Moon day or Amavasya. One of the shakti peeths, this sacred place is being said to be a Jagrut Shakti Peeth. Besides, the Nilachal range adds a surreal beauty to it amplifying lone's deep subtle feelings and strange realizations. Make a trip and experience that First Hand... Nothing like it... Yes i agree too. A temple should be a place for celebrating life and not death. Sacrificing animals is a primitive and inhuman way of worshipping and shows a complete lack of compassion to animals that are creatures of god too like us.
