7 WORST SKILLS FOR FL4K, ZANE, MOZE AND AMARA in Borderlands 3 (Worst Character Skills)  

He bites! counts as the pet doing damage, thereby procing Frenzy and Who Rescued Who?. It's worth a point.... but only 1.

Good misfortune shouldn't be on this list, run and gun Zane without barrier can keep his action skill full pretty much all the time

Nerves of Steel is Zane's best skill. With it I can put a lot of pellets into a crit spot with a jacobs shotgun usually causing them to freeze if they don't die. Accuracy skills are great if you like to aim at things. If you just want to blow everything up like Sal or Moze then don't bother.

I always have sprinkles on my fecal matter. Don't knock it till you try it.

He Bites! is a good skill, in my opinion. It was one of the most valuable in my first playthrough, especially once I entered Mayhem Mode. With the right perks, your pet basically becomes invincible due to how much health you're giving them, meaning the ability to just send them in to tank a big attack and heavily damage the enemy is a very viable thing to do

1 point in He bites combined with frenzy gives you continuous max frenzy stacks

good misfortune is fantastic for a drone clone combo

Moze has a skill in the shield of retribution tree that starts shield regen after a critical kill which is made useless by a guardian rank skill

Good Misfortune, while not a top skill, is definitely not one of the worst skills. I dont enjoy cryo zane, call me crazy but I'm not a fan, so I dont use barrier and so I find extra action skill duration with clone and sentinel and making my tree momentum based (including increased speed for action skills active) is really beneficial.

Moze's Forced Feedback is completely worthless once you get Shield Reboot from Guardian Ranks. Also with He Bites.... if you get a Red Fang Legendary mod not only can you get the reflection up to 25%, Not only does He Bites counts as the pet actually doing damage aka....it procs Fenzy, the red fang taunts all enemies after Gamma Burst. It's not as bad as you think. It's going to be my co OP build for Malawan Takedown.

Good Misfortune is for alternate high dmg output builds without needing CCC

He bites! and Frenzy is a good combo. I would only recommend spending 1 point into it. he bites! still needs some kind of buff, either turn up the reflect damage or add a new additional effect to it.

Steady's Hands is by far one of the best skills on Amara, since it's so high the bonus that allows you hold down the button with your Rowan's Call and feel 0 recoil whatsoever.... ~Was just because this skills that I decided to create the Amara's Call build, and to this day is my got to build with her...

He bites can warrant putting one point in because it triggers frenzy. I’d actually put distributed denial in its place. The skill is bugged, and doesn’t work on the barrier or via sharing effects at all with many types of shields, including turtle, brimming, health bonus, and amp. It doesn’t work at all with unique shields such as break up rough rider health rerouter ect, which heavily restricts use to not using the best shields in the game. It also doesn’t work on the shield with spike or nova, and doesn’t share with teammates booster drops. Very few shield can fully benefit from this skill, and it’s basically exclusively reflect bullets. It also doesn’t work when held, which is a shame because all-rounder deterrence field being held is billions of times stronger than distributed denial as it is effective immortality. And with nerves and steel and refreshment both being trash you need to spend 4 unwanted points after getting cool calm collective to get it, forfeiting a capstone in another tree. Admittedly no big lose if using sentinel. But you forfeit your most powerful use of the barrier and also forfeit synchronicity your biggest gun damage increase. Yeah there’s some theoretical increase in efficiency in co op when you use your barrier to help your team mate. But not that much even for a barrier slave.

Does He Bites! proc Frenzy? If so, it definitely shouldn't be on this list, because even if the reflected damage isn't too high, it still gives indirectly increases damage by stacking Frenzy more quickly, with the bonus of a tad more pet survivability. Worth one point for the Frenzy bonus alone, I think.

Zane’s Duct Tape Mod is VERY useful, but if you’re using the Night Flyer it can sometimes get in the way.

Good Misfortune isn't as useless you would think. For Calm, Cool, Collected (CCC) to reset your Action Skills' Duration and cooldowns, you have to be not only at full shields, but full health as well. While CCC will kickstart a depleted shield's recharge on a proc, and then regen health once you have full shield with a second proc-- you may not have the cover available to fully utilize it should you find yourself in deep kimchi. He Bites! is worth slipping a single point into it to supplement Who Rescued Who? (WRW?) and Frenzy because everytime the pet takes damage, WRW? will grant health regen for Fl4k and you will gain a stack in Frenzy.

Plenty of Zane builds don't use Calm, Cool, and Collected because his Under Cover tree is pretty bad in general. Good Misfortune is actually pretty decent.

Hellwalker for fade-away fl4k + critical damage is just insanity

I think Steady Hands only use is for Boss Farming. A lot of times Amara can simply build up massive amounts of damage through amplifying her elements, Anointments, and Rush stacks you can often spare some skills into Health regen in exchange for deadly rapid fire accuracy into certain bosses crit points. Plus I suppose it might help during the Terror event, but you probably want gear for that.

He bites works with frenzy, so if you’re going into frenzy you SHOULD put one point into he bites

Already disappointed at the first skill. Steady hands is very underrated and has proven stronger to me than wild fire. Infusion is a basic skill because it doesnt add damage it converts it. If someone is weak to an element you will want 100 percent of your damage to be that element and infusion contradicts this

The he bites skill is good synergy with the frenzy skill next to it because whenever your pet takes damage fl4k and your pet grt increased damage and this can stack. So putting 1 point into he bites and all 3 into the one next tonit work really well with a tank pet gamma burst build because you will always have that increased damage

Selfless Vengeance with the Deathless artifact helps with adding some incendiary damage, good against bosses in a lot of builds.

The only reason I left dakka bear alone during co op even in early game is cause it makes you immobile. I told my friend that I'd rather have gunfire coming from 3 different directions than have gunfire from a temporary 2 places that basically leaves the person mounted on iron bear directly where the enemies were firing at.

Selfless vengeance on moze is strong with the hellwalker shotgun, but excels if you have 5+ points in thin red line as the skill cant actually take health away from you if you only have 1 hp. (Deathless artifacts count too)

After cap stoning Moze's Red tree, I got dock-a-bear and this whole time I thought it was supposed to be some sort of auto sentry Turns out I wasted a skill point after 3/5 of the game because my partner never went in it once

In my personal opinion I loved the good misfortune perk. Got it as soon as I physically could I went with the drone and decoy playing a very agile hit and run style havent hit true vault hunter mode only because I started a new playthrough with my little brother before I got there. But it feels great to have and honestly I don't see why wanting to kill off enemies quickly is a bad idea ya the kill skill durations arent fully used but most of them only benifit you know shooting people and with enough shooting people die so I find it very satisfying also combine it with that trees capstone to trigger kill skills with action skills and I spend most of my fights with at least my drone out the whole time,(the decoy dies alot lol). Maybe I'm just not seeing that particular point but I respectfully disagree.

Zane's nerves of steel is only useful when running a terror build , helps steady the aim all while always being under the terror effect , no matter the annointement for terror , its "debuff" still stands and nerves of steel actually does help in this situation >.< but other than that i dont see why it even exists outside being a bait or filler in the tree ^^

1) He Bites is a decent skill. It has far greater damage potential than the pet and more importantly, is a multiplicative damage reduction. 2) Good misfortune is not a bad skill - sure CCC is alot better but requires hefty investment into the barrier tree. The highest dps zane specs tend to be red-blue (even if they use barrier as their AS). 3) Steady Hands is good. For 3 points the Handling goes a long way. And Infusion is not always desirable if you are using elemental guns.

Fl4k's dominance skill slays with my character, hijacked a badass tink turret that slayed a whole crowd. The class mod i have on counts boss enimies as regular enimies, so i can turn the bosses to my side for time to recharge health and sheilds. (Just my opinion though) edit: Loved the video anyways. Please dont take this as hate

Selfless vengeance can be used without taking damage if you use deathless as the hp amount rounds down

Dominance looked fun at first, but my pet ALWAYS prioritized controlled units. Fricking Always!

I think Steady Hands is great, especially the handling part. Reduces recoil and helps with hip firing. I think the worst is Wildfire, did some dedicated testing recently and it never ever did anything, even with "40%" chance and enemies packed so tightly together they were touching each other. Might be a temporary bug of the current version though. Infusion is a double-edged sword, it has advantages and disadvantages. One of the disadvantages is that if weapon and action skill element are the same, impact damage is the same but DOT is reduced because one DOT is 60% and the other is 40% but you can't have two DOTs of the same element on one enemy.

The only thing I wouldn't disagree with now three years later is dominance , after the bus it's one of the most powerful skills he has other than megavore

Selfless vengeance is great with the flakker because you have to reload every shot. You can force it even if you regenerate ammo just by spamming the reload button after shooting and it doesn't really reduces your fire rate. Consequently it's better than the ability which give you shock resistance if you use the transformer and the iron bear bubble suck. I'm not saying it's a great ability but it's the less useless of those you can invest once you max out the best skills at the begginning of the red tree.

Also for flak’s dominance skill, you can not kill the enemy you have controlled until dominance runs out, same with amara’s glamour skill, making them pretty useless

some reload speed buff skills like in borderlands 2 would be cool, but I guess the developers just increase the reload speed and weapon swap speed in general in this game so there' not much need for them

Steady hand(s) is an important skill in Amara's sheriff build.

Imo moze’s worst skill is the one that recharges your shields on a critical kill. It seems so pointless when your guardian perk can do the same thing on every kill. It’s also just before the TD capstone and right next to the PD kill skill.

Infusion doesn't add, it actually takes away from an element-matched gun. Good for mobbing though. Calm, Cool, Collected is def better than the skill skill, but having both isn't bad if you somehow don't have full shields (can happen with puddle attacks and grenades, certain melee attacks.)

It's weird that Force Feedback didn't make this list, especially since the list seems to be made for lv50 characters and Selfless Vengeance is an auto-include in Incendiary/1 hp Moze. A lot of people don't notice that Force Feeback requires a *critical KILL* not a critical hit and is completely useless when you pick up Shield Reboot from the Guardian Rank skills. I made a reddit thread about it a week ago and learned the hard way that people don't read tool tips very carefully and then will die on the hill they've made for themselves defending it.

2:12 Question about Infusion. What if your weapon already matches your action skill element? Does it do nothing? I always thought this skill was weak however I have barely played Amara so I could be wrong.

Dakka bear is pretty good early on if your running iron cub. 20% damage increase for 1 point out the gate compared to putting 5 points in really big guns at the start but yeah dakka was really useless at launch for solo players like myself.

selfles svengence is a skill that cant kill you in a tree based around haveing 1 hp and massive shields think about that

With Mozes selfless vengeance use a deathless converts all but one health doubles shield and keeps it as one hp

i think the health taken from moze's Selfless Vengeance stays gone im respec-ing my moze and i keep getting one shotted to death at lvl 24 cause my health wont heal or regen past 500

Well, that settles what my last point is going into (bit of a slow player, only have Moze at lv48 atm and haven't touched anyone else). Was thinking "Ooo, turret+auto bear"...yeah, if the damage doesn't scale (or scales really poorly) I think the bubble shield is a better choice.

Gotta disagree on Good Misfortune for 2 reasons: 1: Calm, Cool, Collected is not a skill you can reasonably aim for if you are building a Clone&Drone Zane which can still be perfectly viable and in some instances even be better because not all enemies can be frozen. Like, no offense, but players don't always shoot for the most efficient builds if another one is more fun (my proof: There were people playing Zer0 and Krieg as melee classes in Borderlands 2). Also, it's a lot more fun than barrier Zane and features less overall visual pollution. Also, there being another alternative doesn't make a skill bad and Good Misfortune is really good (unlike Moze's incendiary skill which has horrible downsides and which also features much easier alternatives). 2: Good Misfortune can be boosted by Zanes legendary Executor Class Mod which is arguably Zane's best Class Mod in most situations, meaning that you don't even have to put any points into it as long as you are using it.

Infusion is such a waste that I would consider it worse than Steady Hands. You never want to convert any damage to an element because it means less DPS with the generic damage-- not more overall damage.

What should be on here is forge and some for the road. Redistribution and means of destruction make it so your ammo count never moves if you have even half decent aim and they're low cost tier 2 skills.

Got my skill point loadout all set for Moze, FL4K(Otherwise I won't hear the end of it for spelling error), Zane. Probably would've been nice if it was one character a video. More video, more stuff to watch.

If you could attack the target that you dominated with fl4k (the skill dominance) I think it would be better.

I don't get why everyone hates on doca bear. Its fun for coop, if you have the legendary class mod that lets you have auto bear out til fuel is gone its an absolute boss melter til you get into mayhem 3 TVHM, and for going down the bottomless mags tree its the most bang for your buck to get to tier 3 skills. I wish the damage scaled better but for a 1 point first tier skill its really good.

One I find bad is Amaras Infusion it doesn't work right

Infusion isn't "further enhanced" by Forceful Expression unless the action skill element is always paired against the enemy AND Sustainment isn't being used. (because Infusion doesn't proc Sustainment and actually reduces the healing of elemental guns) Otherwise FE takes over all of Infusion's positives without stacking; leaving behind only the negatives. In other words, if the build includes Forceful Expression then Infusion becomes way worse than Steady Hands because it is actually detrimental rather than just weak.

Flacks dominance skill well he is classified as a beast master so yeah and anyway it's more of a get a temporary bullet sponge than get a temporary attacker

Does Amara's Infusion work that way now? Because I've seen it actually decrease damage in some situations. Which would make it worse.

I enjoy constantly respecing and making different builds and play styles. Finding and constantly using the one most powerful or most tanky build isn’t so enjoyable when there are many other options to try, in my own personal opinion. I like changing things up and trying new builds with new gear and weapons. I play with Zane, and don’t use the barrier. Mind blown.

Less accuracy = less bullets landed = less dps.

please rethink your stance on He Bites... if you have both He Bites even 1 point... and Frenzy you get a buff that is almost always on if you are active with your pet.. meaning you point out targets for them and whatnot.. plus there is a nice skill that has the pet actually taunt so there is that as well... sorry for poor grammar on phone and cant spell to save my soul.

Force Feedback in Mozes red skill tree is pointless once you get 50 guardian points in the survival skill tree. It's a better skill and you don't have to blow 20+ skill points to get to it either, plus it s just better in general

He Bites? More like It Bites! That skill(being a Flak user) really does suck. If it got buffed to like 50% damage reflection, THEN it would be good!

For someone who uses steady hands and transcend I can already disagree with this list sure it's not a damage output but, I'm able to land more crits from a distance with multiple projectile weapons and example of how good this actually is I can literally return the crossroads accuracy back to pre patched stats and with the right terror perk return the missing projectile that was also lost.
