@@FeelMyBicepp it varied. Very roughly, one third of my annual lifestyle costs were invested (so if my spend was £21k I would invest £7k) In later years I invested a higher percentage because my wages went up, but I did not spend more.

i don't think it is. Once bitcoin crosses it's all time high, it becomes the new bottom. Anything under 69k is a good buy. It's still advisable to work with a fiduciary advisor instead of relying solely on speculations.

The whole talk about "reverse" market crash (real estate and stock market) basically argues that we are nowhere near done with inflation and that we might actually experience "hyperinflation" in the near future combined with accelerating poverty levels across the nation or going thru a historical economic depression...those are the extreme conditions that have produced the reverse market crashes in most examples I've seen. I personally don't see anything that extreme coming, but who knows.
Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Strategists have been aiding folks in recording gains over 250k just in a matter of months, so I think there are alot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you have someone who knows where to look like i do.

I just started investing 1.5 months ago and I'm making all the mistakes that a beginner investor often makes. 1) My portfolio is complicated, 2) I am affected by "noise" and trade way too often. 3) I am impatient, indecisive and act emotionally 4) I over-emphasized the dividends-paying companies, 5) I obsessed over the fees. 6) Now I'm not even sure if this is the right time to invest anymore. For those of you watching this elsewhere: Banks and Financial institutions can fail suddenly, and it can be of equal probability with you loosing your job (which tends to happen simultaneously), you might loose most of your money with maybe a little refund 10+ years later. It is not always a good idea to keep your emergency funds invested. Keeping it in a Bank that does not give interest but government owned, or even keeping 2-3 months in a safe at home might be a good idea. Please investigate the end of Weinmar republic, compare it with recent events such as Argentina, Venezuella, and observe what governments do when they go bankrupt.

I have a portfoli of four etfs the vanguard s&p 500, Vanguard FTSE develop, iShares NASDAQ 100 and iShares Automations and Robotics. Is that too much, should I just stick to one, and if yes which one?

The best performance in my portfolio is S&P500, the worst the dividend one (actually in minus all 2 years I hold it). VWCE doesnt perform that good as for you, but I guess it needs more time and space :)

You are absolutely right. Especially if you have previously invested in stocks, it is easy to make everything too complicated with ETFs. An MSCI World ETF with a savings plan is all you need.
Investing in an ETF like VWCE is very simple. The future price will reach €500 one day, thanks to inflation 3%, dividends 2% and earnings growth 3%. The price today is €107. So with this 8% yearly return 1 VWCE ETF will cost €500 in 2044! So, stop worrying about the economy and stop watching CNBC. Just buy your gold bars before the price reaches €500.

Xtrackers a lanciato il primo ETF MSCI World ex USA. Si chiama Xtrackers MSCI World ex USA UCITS ETF 1C (EXUS). L'ETF aiuta a diminuire la dipendenza del mercato americano. May I ask, given the fact that in the long run, we expect immerging markets to get more and more financial stronger (As all analysts and even current tech new predict), wouldn't a 3etf like 50% VUAA 25% VEUA 25% EMIM approach be more versatile? (also who knows maybe in the future eu decided to offer tax advantages to etfs that invest in European companies only). I feel that VWCE 65% weight towards the usa market is not so future-proof.
Thanks for the video! One question: why would you choose Vanguard FTSE All-World instead of, say, iShares Core MSCI World, even though the latter has smaller expenses and performed better, at least in the last 5 years? Is it just because of the larger diversification?
He talked about this in separate VWCE video, as you said - it's diversification, as IWDA does not cover small cap nor emerging markets. Those under performed lately, but it's not an indication for future performance.
Exactly as @GoSu said :) But I totally understand investors that choose to only invest into developed markets (eg. via an MSCI World or FTSE Developed World) due to the lower fees and EM's poor performance over the past decade.

My wife and I have ETFs that we bought when we came to Austria but our contracts run just for the next 3 years; after that, it is likely that we'll have to leave the Schengen area.

But I also at the moment diversified with other type of assets - broad ETFs as S&P500 and FTSE All World, also High Dividend ETF and a few shares. Apart from that I invest in P2P and Money Markets fund like you and also Farm Land.

For VWCE accumulating, how do you know which percentage/amount of your annual gain represented the dividend? For example, how much divident was paid in 2023 and on which month?
You have thousands of stocks within the ETF paying out dividends at different dates throughout the entire year. As this happens, the fund reinvests them into more shares of the stocks within the index, slowly raising the ETF share value by the amount that would have otherwise been paid out by the Distributing version of the same ETF on a quarterly basis. How dependent are these All World emerging market ETFs on Chinese stocks? Are they regularly adjusted? If something in Taiwan blows up, investors in China are going to be immediately caught with their pants down, just as has happened to all those German companies who can't get their money out of Russia.
The whole world would obviously be impacted, not just emerging markets. That being said, China makes up 2,6% of the FTSE All-World, so its share is relatively low.
Lesson 1- don't spend your whole life investing just to end up with the same lifestyle you have now😂😂😂 Lesson 2- investing is about making more money. It's not passive investing if you end up just earning what you would at your day job. When you are old and are about to die anyway. Well done you still can't enjoy life because you have not grown your wealth just groan your ability to live in retirement
All good advice! But don't forget your pension pot. What is your pension invested in and how is it performing? Probably between -4% and +4% in last 5 years. Compare this to a global ETF and ask - where has all that money gone? Answer: Not to you, that's for sure! So take control of your pension!

Yeah, just buy SNP500, Nasdaq100 & a Large Cap Dividend funds that's it. The US is still a largest economy in the world so nothing else is capable to provide as sustainable growth in a very long term as the US indexes do. Sure you can make 150% in a very bullish cycle but you'll loose your money then anyway as no one in the world is capable to maintain very high performance in a ling run.
Why not combine your ETFs with stocks? it looks like with 80% ETFs - 20% stocks you whould have a better ROI and less risk. I was also surpriced as a read the book psychology of money where the author was doing the same thing. Is it because you seek peace of mind or because of your more defensive investment strategy?
I wanted ti buy the FTSE ETF you suggests in the video. However I see that on Degiro the only ETF replacating this index Is USD denominted. Buying this ETF would not expose me to FX Exchange Risk if I am within Eurozone?
Yes true I have heard those advices often I like 2 or 3 ETFs one foundational maybe about 59% then two growth ETFs for growth like QQQM or SOXQ on an Roth IRA and keep buying more shares, can also get some good dividend stocks like KO , O, or STAG, cheers ❤❤
What do you mean tax implications. With all ETFs I have bought I’ve paid for expense fees which get taken off the top and dividends are of course taxed. That’s all I paid ??

This is pretty spot on and good info. This is pretty much where I got to 3 years into my investment journey. One valuable tidbit I gained form this was putting your Emergency Fund in a different insurance covered broker. Definitely will look into that!

I tried ibkr but I still can’t buy ETF, they are either missing KID, thus disable the choice of buying them. Or I’m illegible to buy them, so i need to change the account settings to do so. Trying to change account settings just notify me that it ibkr deemed I’m not elligable. It is a uphill battle.

I think they had slightly higher fees (TER) in general, but I was mostly talking about the transaction fees when buying 6 ETFs regularly instead of just one.
Why not the SPY (S&P 500) index? That has always performed great, and definitely better than the ones you mention right? You are definitely more experienced, so I am sure there is a caviat to this S&P 500 fame of being the best of the best and returning over 10% a year on average. Could you explain me why not to invest in the SPY and rather on the FTSE all-world? for example

Vanguard FTSE All-World UCITS ETF (USD) Accumulating VWCE (The FTSE All-World index tracks stocks from developed and emerging countries worldwide.)
Hi Franko, I can't give you investment advice, but I can say this: The Vanguard FTSE All-World already includes all the stocks in the S&P 500 (these make up around 61% of the index), so in my opinion it doesn't make much sense to buy both, unless you want to increase your share of US stocks further.
