Love your channel. I have a Creality 10 watt laser that I’ve had for about 6 months now. Just added the AtomStack X70 Max for larger and thicker materials. Keep up the awesome content.
Looks like a beast of a machine! Thank you for the review. In a side note is the Clack Shack ‘open during the week’ I am going to be going down 65 Monday for work. I always enjoy meeting folks from around here when I can. Have a good one.
Steve on a stick had me laughing.. I had a little bit of a tough week and that made my day... lol 🤪I don't have the Atomstack, I have the Atzer P20, but I still like to watch your build videos. The overhead camera angles are very helpful! thanks for the great content and the laugh as well!
Question about the cleaning of the laser lens. I clean mine everyday, I have to remove it, take off the nozzle, run a q-tip with alcohol on it around the lens. Then put it back together. Listening to you talk about getting the Z axis just right made me wonder how hard it would be to clean the lens? Great video, I liked the consideration of putting the assembly at the end. I watched but I like not having to skip through the video if I didn't want to watch it.
Regarding the 36v and 24v connection, I’d turn it over and mark the sockets with the F1 red laser. You’d have a more permanent mark. I’ve been looking at this as my second laser. The F1 being my first.
The Z offset on my d1 pro messed me up for the first time yesterday. It made my engrave about 1/3rd of an inch off center. Drives me nuts but thankfully it was for my mom and she still wanted it.
@@TheClackShack thanks for the reply! I’ve heard from them 5mm in one pass but am curious as to the glues used if that would be an issue with its cutting ability. Seeing it cut plywood so fast tells me it shouldn’t be an issue. A lot of power vs Creality’s 60w they say can cut 3mm bamboo at 900mm speed. Can I ask where you got the laser glass for your enclosure? Thank you.
Hi David, two questions: 1. have you any updates on this laser since this initial review - you gave it a spot in the shop, is it having any issue holding onto that spot? 2. In your videos I notice that you have dramatically changed the way that your interlocking panels look (seem to be much smaller) have you been updating your etsy store with the changes for older machines (still using Atzer P20) for example?
It is still king for cutting. I use it every week still. I am improving upon the design on newer versions but what you are probably seeing is the DIY kit that I am running in my enclosures. They are minimal but do take more permanent setup.
Great video. I'm looking to buy an A70, could someone tell me the overall footprint of the laser frame, so I can see if it will fit in my space. Thanks
Can you do a side by side cutting test with the 30w MK2? I am going with the XW MK2 when it's released and am curious how much faster that extra power will cut same material and design
CO2 and diodes are different animals intended for different materials. For wood, it works great but bed size is also something to consider. Both have their limitations but I like mine for what I use it for.
Okay I hope I'm not repeating myself I can't find the comment I just made so probably messed something up.... What are your thoughts on the larger version have you heard anyone using that? The max
From what I can tell, the mechanics are the same, just a larger frame, longer belts and cabling. I just didn’t have room for the bigger one. Rarely do I need anything that requires that size work area. I also have a 4x4 CNC if I do.
I have the Ikier equivalent of this laser. For 35 watts, I'm getting a 0.1 mm kerf, for 70 watts, I'm getting about 0.14 mm kerf (0.004" and 0.0055" respectively). It is definitely a bit larger than the 20 Watt xTool D1 Pro kerf.
Hi I bought one of these that is the A70 Max and am having trouble connecting it to my Mac this is not the first laser that I have used on this mac through lightburn either. When I click on the device button to home the laser it says; ALARM 9 Homing fail.Could not find limit switch within search distance.Defined as 1.5 * max_travel on search and 5 * pulloff on locate phases. ok Grbl 1.1h['$' for help] [MSG:'$H'|'$X'to unlock] [MSG:Caution: Unlock] ok Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Check the installation of the z axis. If it is not properly calibrated during install, it will cause that. The focus probe of the zaxis needs to be even to the surface where the feet are sitting. Do not set it based on a honeycomb or etc
That’s unusual, I know lots of folks that already have theirs. I have worked with them for years and they asked me about testing it when they first designed it last year.
I got mine the same week and have been cutting with it already. Ordered it in late Feb. Great machine btw, and Clack has been a huge help. I’m a no body, You should inquire with them.
They call it PRO and it isn't even built as a closed-box machine with safety features. Avalanches of NO-PRO toys which are launched on the market on a monthly basis, everytime "This is the best by now" but it's just a little less crap. Collections of craps which are sold to people willing to pay and be lab rats for their dangerous experiments. Maybe PRO doesn't mean PROFESSIONAL but PROFITABLE (for the sellers) and PROBLEMATIC (for the buyers).
@@TheClackShack The fact is not that I don't like this machine specifically. The fact is that I don't agree with the sale of dangerous machines of this type without them being supplied factory ready with the highest possible safety features. This applies to this machine as it applies to the other ten thousand versions of this type of machines which have always been sold without protections, since the models with 1W of laser power. The possibility to make a custom enclosure is not a possibility, in my opinion, is a lack of a fundamental feature which is sold like possibility for you to solve their problem, just because you have fun in building enclosures. It's like someone selling a car without brakes and telling you here's a chance for you to have fun in building your custom brakes.
@@simoncino83 I guess it is a preference, I think folks are responsible for their own safety. I have actually built go carts and dune buggies as well. Used tractor brake setup to get better turning radius.
@@TheClackShack It seems to me that you're confusing things you build for yourself with things that are mass-produced and sold to the public. Things that are mass-produced and sold to the public must comply with certain minimum safety requirements, especially in relation to the most dangerous risks. I assume that your home's electrical system contains a circuit breaker and an RCD to protect your home and your life. It's not up to you to mount it or not mount it, it just must be there. Anyway, if you're happy to continually pay - rather than get paid - to receive incomplete and unsafe equipment, that's fine. If you are happy to complete and make safe the machines at your own expense, that's fine. Obviously, when I say "you", I'm only talking about ordinary buyers, not about reviewers who receive every month some new machines for free, and they also receive a percentage of the sales they bring to the company, and they also earn from the views of their reviews.
@@simoncino83 Actually, where I live, we do not have codes that require us to do specific things. I did install breakers but only because the old fuses are expensive. Good day..
