@@VintageEngineRepairs I can now work on bigger engines but these smaller ones got into my blood as early as 6 years. I would watch my dad and his mechanic work on them. We used them extensively in water pumps. Grew up in a farming environment.
Hey Tom... Salute from New Zealand. I just picked up one of these from a swap meet... no spark plug... yet I expect she will not take much to get running. Villers are Legendary down here in NZ. 50 years ago I had bigger one on a farm Go-cart... it was a beast! Now I intend to get this smaller unit going on a mini bike for my youngest son...
Incredible restoration job. Better light on the engine would help show internals of assembly and a mic shooting towards you would enhance sound a tad. The touch up on engine paint work had me laughing given the state you got it in. Well done.
Good work mate, perfect time because I finally got time to fix the carby on my mk10 and got it going today! The only difference is mine looks more petina and needs tuning as well it being a kickstart! Sounds great 👍
Hi Tom Can you tell me more about the tool you used when timing the engine it was mounted on the bench and moved into position on top of the piston. Thanks
I’m watching this for info on restoring small engines, good content camera I would say should be closer so we can see what you are doing properly, don’t need to see work bench
@@VintageEngineRepairs No problem mate I have come by a few of these small engine's myself I bought them at an auction I am in the middle of sorting a video out to upload to RU-vid.
@@VintageEngineRepairs I mainly deal with car's am a mechanic. But I do like the old vililers engine's I have a Seagul engine that belonged to my grandad it was last run in the 90s I put the wipac coil on it and now it runs again.
Hi Tom, does the top of the piston come level with the top of the cyl. block on TDC? I’m working on a Villiars 25 at present, and the top of the piston is about 4 mil below the top of the block on TDC. Is this correct?
Hi, Are you based in the UK? I have two MK15 engines that need refurbishing and would happily pay, or could you suggest a company that deals with such engines? Thanks
How do you get the flywheel off? got the pull starter off, that centre nut only wants to undo so far....is that screw near it have to come out as well?
