I think it's pretty fair to be unhappy waking up as a lab-rat and pet, spectacle for the rich only being kept around for other's fear of mortality knowing that everyone and everything you ever loved is gone and will never return.

I've suffered with severe depression my whole life, it has consumed me pretty badly. Its effected my ability to feel joy and excitement towards anything and striped away the ability to feel like anything has any point to it, like everything is pointless and mundane. But even so, being able to continue to exist would be a blessing as watching the world turn over and over and people do the things they do is beautiful in its own ways. I might not have found out how to live a pointless life yet, but a lot of other people haven't either, so how about we try figuring out how to do that first, even if it takes years and years to find it, eventually you will find that just living is what counts

Well, in the grand scheme of things, we truly are completely unimportant, tiny specs in the Universe. Enjoy your life, have and raise children, be kind to those around and finally - have a good death. Energy, that was used to create you - can never be made or destroyed, therefore in some very difficult to quantify values - you will exist forever, but you will change your form. Most importantly - do not overthink it - just live a peaceful life here and now.

That part was weird. Because its common in a lot of places. She is his nurse and he a sick patient. And she clearly develops an emotional connection. But then it sounds like part of the job application was "do you have morals?" She answered no and got the job.
