Hey Tom, we are in Florida for a few days visiting family. Julie and just watched your excellent video this evening. Didn’t realize how close we are. Hope we can check this place out.
How amazing to see all the development. I grew up in Florida and went to college at Stetson and in the mid '70s well early '70s we used to load up into cars and drive out to the headwaters of the spring and have a campfire there and party all night we'd also go out there during the day and swim in the spring. I guess I can't remember if it was actually an official park at that time or not. I just remember it being called Blue Springs. I'm glad a lot of people are enjoying it it was magical to enjoy it at that time though. It was all ours is how it felt. I'm so glad I got to grow up in the jungle of Florida spending my first 25 years of my life there. It's an amazing wonderful place I hope they preserve it and take care of these magical locations.
@@CampTravelExplore , we parked at the trail head parking area just south of the park entrance and hiked in. Its where the spring to spring trails meet. It was less than 1/2 mile hike, no lines no waiting.
Yes this was a must do for us this year! We are planning on doing a lot more N GA and N Carolina this year! Are you know settled in S Carolina or just traveling still?
@@CampTravelExplore we were at my brother’s in NC for a couple of months while we upgraded our trailer. We’ve traveled through SC, GA, the panhandle of FL & AL. Now in Mississippi and heading to LA tomorrow. Loved the state parks in GA - they do a really nice job. Didn’t get into the NE section of GA, but will on our next loop!

Thank you very much for that wonderful video I love manatees, and it's so nice to know there is a reservation to keep them from being killed! I've traveled all over Florida but I missed this particular Park and I'm sorry I did.
