Wow! Jingle writers really earned their keep in the 70’s and 80’s. Some of these jingles are more elaborate than songs you’ll find on today’s top 100 charts. Lol
Hey, it takes a lot of hard, hard work to make a record full of AutoTune effects, or to do a hip hop record full of sped-up vocals that sound like the friggin' Chipmunks on crack...
@@elc1960 Hmmm. You know what? I don't even listen to hip hop or pop, but I just took a look at the Billboard top 100 and the entire list is full of what I presume to be trash. So, maybe I just should've said the top 100 of that time? lol
Three packages of sausages for $1 ….what I wouldn’t give for those prices. Sure, the pay was less but the difference between pay and cost of living was better.
Great to see John Ritter and pretty much everybody else I can recall. Nice to see Erin Moran in good spirits. How can so much time & change taken place? I miss this type of TV. They actually seem to care and incorporate values into their shows.
@@dalemulholland2387 I was a little kid in the '70s. It was just better times but that might be just because I was a child. We did have economic problems back then and they were other issues going on but when you're looking back you tend to look back on the youth as being better times. And I remember these specials coming on. I would get happy
@@dalemulholland2387 when I was young, and didn't have to respond one word questions on simplistic comments that really don't need explanation ... 😆 good enough for you, friend? ✌️
I'm amazed how many of these commercials I can still remember, like they just came out yesterday. I have forgotten how patriotic and melodramatic they were.
I haven't seen that Apple Jacks Cereal commercial really made me happy and so nostalgic❗ I had not seen that commercial since it was on and to have such an emotional impact on me was incredible❗ Thanks for posting this. I still have a smile on my face❗ 😃
I miss comercials like this and growing up during the 80s and 90s it was just nicer..than. today 😢.ok who doesn't want a way back machine right now to go to the old grocery stores in these ads to acess the food prices 😅
Omg'sh I was born in 1977 and grew up in Long Beach California in the 80's and I remember all of Cal Worthingtons commercials selling cars. He always had like Elephants and would stand on his head to sell you a car. Talk about a trip down memory lane. I miss my childhood n stuff
1:15:21 - That's a very young Jane Krakowski in the Nestle Toll House cookie mix commercial. And immediately after that, you have something I truly miss from my youth: the Santa-on-a-Norelco electric razor ad they used to show every year at Christmastime. Later on, you have a couple of Sugar Smacks commercials featuring Len Dresslar Jr. (the voice of the Jolly Green Giant) as the voice of Dig 'Em. The Tab commercial has two future celebrities in it: Joe Regalbuto from Murphy Brown is the guy caught staring at the hot babe in the bikini, and Matt Dillon is the sweaty football player.
It's A Shame That Most Of These Products Are Not Around Anymore For Future Generations To Enjoy! These Commercials Were The Best Growing Up With! Nowadays All You See Are Commercials For Lawyers, Medicare, And Prescription Medications! Times Have Really Changed!
In that "When You Say Bud" spot, that's the immortal singer-songwriter Valerie Simpson (of Ashford & Simpson) on lead vocal. It is, however, not her in the commercial; they had an actress lip sync her part. If they'd asked her she'd probably have done it herself...
Interesting bit of trivia. The older woman in the Maxwell House coffee commercials is in fact, the same actress that played the Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz.
Love this collection of commercials, brings back a lot of memories of days gone by. One thing I did notice was the American pride in many of the commercials. Most of the brands mentioned America in its advertising one way or another. Also, I think this compilation of video's were uploaded in alphabetical order? Great nostalgia.
I want to go back and live it all over again. The 70’s and 80’s were the best years of my life. We had the best TV shows and Specials back then and lived in the last of the best decades in America..it was the party of a life time and we lived it well. We had the best TV then. Falcon Crest, Dallas, Knots Landing, Dynasty,The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, The Six Million dollar man, The Dukes of Harzard, BJ and the Bear, Air Wolf, Battle Star Galactica! Knight Rider and for the first time ever the motion pictures of, Star Wars, Star Trek, Superman, Spider Man, Close Encounters of the third kind, E.T., Poltergeist, Jaws, Friday the 13th, Aliens, (No not the ones being aloud to just walk into our country right now in 2023), Predator and many more… We also celebrated the bicentennial in the 70’s when the entire country celebrated it from Apr 1, 1975 - Jul 4, 1976. It was like the 4th of July every day. It was fantastic!.…it was such a better time to be alive in this county. We never had the problems that are here today. It was unheard of for kids being shot and men walking around dressed as women. It was the last of America and we were lucky to have experienced it.
If you've never used the closed captioning option on these videos, you should try it with this video. Some of the captions here are sheer comedy gold. Don't take my word for it, try it yourself. Some of them will make you laugh out loud, most of the others will make you chuckle, and the rest will make you go "WTF???"
@@bessiehillum6498 The captions don't make grammatical sense, and in some cases are completely ridiculous. My guess is that they were somehow automatically generated, but they don't match up exactly with the actual spoken words.
Ok I need to admit I find these commercials as thrilling as I did my wacky packages. Sometimes I feel I’m a victim of a massive psychological experiment aimed at ingraining an urge of consumerism. I am sick
Love's BBQ Pit. in Rosemead... was my favorite restaurant to go to... and the Light Brite commercial threw me back to my kid days. Which some days I could go back and do it again knows what I know now. Love the Pepsi generation commercial ls too!
any woodwind or brass instrument player will tell you, the last thing they would do is eat a chocolate bar just before playing their instrument. icky yucky poo poo nasty spit all down inside the instrument simply not done..
@@tycanuck I'm not on any meds. Only vitamin My mom died at 95 took no meds her entire life Depends on your genes and life style.. Only one operation for her eye. No walker wheelchair looked much younger. A lot of Drs I think put ppl on meds they don't even need.
I remember a microwave meal called _Meat Dump_ . It was marketed as a weight loss aid and came in tomato and ham, pea and ham, ham and prawn and ham-lite and mango. Basically it was ham, but they put a lot of laxatives in it
