Our pets were horribly allergic to Love my Carpet. They both started losing patches of their coats (a doggie and a kitty). At first the vet was surprised as he thought the products were safety tested. Yeah, not so much. They both recovered after we stopped using it but they looked so sad for awhile…

0:33 - Charles Kimbrough as the dad in the ad for children's Sucrets. 1:02 - James Garner and Mariette Hartley for Polaroid's One Step camera. 4:29 - In the Doublemint ad, at 4:37 the young guy in the theater with his date is Ike Eisenmann, who was the original voice of the Little Green Sprout in Green Giant canned vegetable commercials. 5:35 - Susan Blanchard for No Nonsense Easy to Be Me pantyhose. 9:26 - Paul Frees as the voice of Poppin Fresh for Pillsbury crescent rolls. 10:52 - Kukla, Fran & Ollie in a promo for their Christmas special 'Tis the Season to Be Ollie. 12:52 - Largo Woodruff as the girl at the drive-in in the Ruffles commercial. 14:12 - Ed McMahon for Ford trucks. 15:12 - Cheryl Tiegs for the Olympus OM-10 camera. 15:42 - Gary Owens does the voiceover for an NBC special starring Joseph Bottoms promoting Disney's The Black Hole. 17:15 - In the ad for the GE food processor, the first lady is Fran Brill. 17:46 - The male customer in the Ponderosa ad is Alka-Seltzer's "Try it, you'll like it!" guy. (I don't know his name.) 18:33 - NBC News reporter Rebecca Sobel does an update in which she commits a big boo-boo: she gives Bishop Fulton J. Sheen's age at the time of his death in 1979 as 24. (He was actually 84. Whoops!) 21:18 - Joe Santos as celebrity spokesman for the 1980 Plymouth TC3. 22:38 - Orson Welles for Paul Masson Rhine Castle wine. (Say it with me now: "Aaahhhthefrensh...") 23:07 - Ronnie Schell for the Atari 2600 game system. I grew up on the West Coast (Oregon). Some of the commercials aired on our local stations at that time were different than some of these, but I still recognize quite a few of the national brand advertisements. Fun to see the advertisement for Hello Larry and Real People. Our family used to watch those routinely back in 1980. I was in kindergarten at the time, and remember it being such a carefree time of life. Thanks for the great uploads!! It's wonderful coming here to reminisce.
