you are a genius mate. Really incredible stuff and possibly the best use of a spare bedroom i've ever seen. Looks like a dream

thanks Ben. I cant take full credit because I have learnt a great deal from many others on RU-vid, but I hope that with what I have done here and going forward can give something back.. Thanks for tuning in, greatly appreciated.

Why aren't you using MSFS? It has really improved since launch and it looks incredible.
@CessSim

Whilst it is graphically wonderful, MSFS 2020 doesnt cater for cockpit builders in my opinion. Check out this video I posted on this very subject.... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yRDO2ZSXc0I.html

Very nice! Would really have liked to have seen how you mounted the TV’s on the sides. Thinking of doing the same thing with my sim.
@CessSim
@CessSim 2 года назад
Hi Larry and thanks for tuning in. The side TV's are simply mounted on free standing purchased TV stands with adjustable heights. Have provided a link below to what I used. www.retaildisplaydirect.com.au/floor-tv-stand-mobile/?gclid=CjwKCAjwj42UBhAAEiwACIhADjh8L1YOCrCsMw2CYA_SOU7Vk1iU0E0f-XZa7FcJv3uR4P9expfGnhoC9bcQAvD_BwE

What an amazing bit of kit. Do you fly the 'non-sim' versions?
@CessSim
@CessSim 2 года назад
Cheers mate. Unfortunately not. Have been up a couple of times in GA's but never pursued it. Love watching how you guys do it, and emulate some practices where I can. At present (other than continuing to refine the sim), I am learning about charts....Its a great hobby (although the wife probably wouldnt agree), and so much to learn.

@@CessSim Excellent hobby, and in the long run, a lot cheaper than the real thing - plus you don't have to worry about being grounded for days on end waiting for the rubbish weather to clear up. Cheers.

Do you have a drawing or anything regards the dimensions of your frame? I tried but couldn't view the Fusion 360 drawing. In US terms I assume the frame is mostly 2x4s which are actually 1-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches. I am also considering a 55" front TV and two 32" monitors for side views. Just can't afford or not willing to buy 3 55s at least at this point. I already have the 2 32" ones.
@CessSim
@CessSim 2 года назад
Hi Jay. Unfortunately, I dont have any drawings printed as Fusion360 license has withdrawn this now. Having said that, I can possibly put something together fairly quickly and post. I am looking to do a live stream Q&A on the sim in a couple of weeks so stay tuned for that. With respects to the monitors, certainly would advocate a 55" for the front as works perfectly for the C172 frame size. With the sides, it depends on what look you going for. Some people mount the smaller monitor so it just represents the "window" which also looks fine. For me, I wanted to try and create that feel of looking around the window frame so my 55" are set back from the main frame slightly as you might see in my videos. Personal choice and depends on how you are setting up your cockpit shell. Hope this helps

You've done a really good job! Please can you tell me what kind of VGA and CPU have installed in your pc? Did you use 3 x 55" 1080p tv as screens? You use tv because there aren't pure monitors of that size? Thank you so much!

What software do you use?
@CessSim
@CessSim 10 месяцев назад
Hi Timothy. Thanks for tuning in. I use both XP12 and FS2020. Prefer XP12 for the flight dynamics and how the aircraft looks from inside the sim. FS2020 for the scenery.....much better IMO for VFR flying. At the time of recording this, would have been in XP11............

G'day and thanks for tuning in. Been listening to your controller podcasts of late and learning so much from you so thanks for that. Given you are a local here in WA be great to get you to have a crack on the sim sometime....lets keep in touch. When/where are you controlling next? I would love to spend a bit of time in your airspace? I use the call sign VHJAE. (just listen to the one who makes out he knows what he is doing but doesn't !)

Do you suppose a 13700k/4090 combo would run this on 3-55 4k TVs?
@CessSim
@CessSim Год назад
HI mate. A lot of variables when it comes to discussing this. What Sim? What FPS you want to target? What graphical setting? I would assume you want the best of the lot. In my experience at present, XP12 even with the best of single PC equipment would struggle to get a solid 30FPS across 3 4K screens. Sim needs to deliver a min of 30FPS IMO to deliver a playable experience. I have a 12900K + 3090Ti and I get circa 40FPS across 3 x 1080P to give you an idea.....
