No matter if I am able to fish or just watch a video of other people fishing I am happy but watching you guys fish is the best just wish I was as positive in life as Jordan. I can’t fish anytime I want but the fun joy excitement you guys give us fills my vanes and pushes me to try knew techniques hit new waters and help me learn not every day on the water is a guarantee of success but regardless you can always find the positive in getting out there and trying. Caught 11 steelhead out of one hole on the Satsop. Let them all go. I don't keep steelhead anymore. Only keep Coho. Satsop has some big Coho in January. Caught a few 18 pounders. Once I get a 20 plus going to mount it.

There are some special rules in place on the coastal rivers last I looked. Might want to investigate that. I often camp at Mora and fish the four rivers there.

John Day river in Oregon late 90s early 2000s, 42inch long 15lb hatchery steely was my best. It had a tag in its head. Biologist took it and a few months later we got a card with its info. My dad also caught one there as well that made the 15lber look like a baby! I thought it was a salmon at first cuz of the sheer size of it. To this day i havent seen one that big! Have you addicted hairlips fished that river?

I like a center pin reel for smaller rivers like the one's you fish. When the float goes down I just reel up and when I feel the fish , set the hook. You have a better catch ratio.
