We bought this stone house in Italy during the pandemic in 2020. The house was a ruin and we saved everything we could, unfortunately that meant only four stone and clay walls! The back wall, against the terrain, was close to collapse; the roof beams were eaten and basically reduced to dust; the inside separation walls were easily taken down and the whole project turned into a heavy renovation/rebuild.
Follow our journey as we turn this old stone house into a beautiful home 😊.

with every video the house is becoming more of a home. The terracotta, when combined with the stove, will bring a rich colour to the room. It's looking great!

Your stove is very elegant! I had two stoves installed by our local specialist. The one in the living room is 10 Kw and has a system of ducts which conduct warm air to the bedrooms above, without fans, electric motors or the need for an external air duct. The other in the kitchen is a modern wood burning cooker, which is fantastic. My house is quite large so we needed 20Kw of heat to kept all warm in the coldest days, though in fact we very rarely need to use both the stoves together. luckily we have a lot of wood and in 10 winters here have only used our own, from storm-felled trees and branches. Free heat!

As an American, Your channel is the only one I watch with closed captions as I speak no other language (very American). I have loved construction since I was a child and I am now 80 and find it just as intriguing. I stumbled across your channel and found myself in awe of the thought, work, and effort that goes into the reconstruction of this old Italian structure. What city are you closest to, so you can obtain building materials and have a close home base? Thanks for such detailed and heartfelt videos.

That’s the coolest hand cart! Having pros do the install is very important and looks like they know what they’re doing! Beautiful choice of stove and it appears to be very efficient. La stufa è la sua posizione in soggiorno e anche la canna fumaria fanno proprio un bell effetto. Pur essendo una stufa moderna non “rovina” il vibe semi rustico del soggiorno. Bravi, buona scelta. E poi vi meritate on bel like grazie al segugio fedele 🐈‍⬛.

Good morning from northern Vermont USA where there is a lot of snow and it is cold. Morning coffee! It was interesting seeing you guys working on the floor wearing tee shirts while it it is all white with snow outside. Watching the wood stove installation and the seeing the warm fire made the episode all come together. Beautiful!

We have been following your labor of love with great interest. I was intrigued by the location because it reminded me of the beautiful Ligurian hilltops and towns of my ancestors. My cousin and his family restored an ancient bar run by my great grandparents in the mountains north of Genova. Their wedding gifts were fixtures for their new home and eventual restaurant. Look forward to more episodes.

Bonjour les archis, c'est Dame Mavi qui nous fait la lecture aujourd'hui et c'est bien plus agréable. Sacré bon boulot les jeunes, votre maison a maintenant un charme fou même s'il reste encore de nombreux travaux à réaliser. Je pense surtout au jardin qui deviendra l'écrin de votre demeure : quelques cyprès et un magnifique murier platane qui vous fournira une ombre bienfaisante et reposante. Si vous le désirez, je peux vous faire quelques plants de ce dernier, et c'est cadeau ! Magnifique votre poêle, très classe. Il ne restera plus qu'à monsieur Mavi de préparer un stock de bois.

I would like to offer some advice here based on a few decades of working with cementitious products, that is; concrete in all it's different forms formulas and additives; screeds and other mortar fractions. I would not presume to give craft advice but only safety. Avoid all skin and eye contact, even minimal. The injuries I have seen are horribly disfiguring (including limb amputation) and contact dermatitus will haunt you for ever. Wear your PPE.

Stufa bellissima, siamo anche noi indecisi su una stufa di questo genere oppure a pellet, siamo in campagna ed ora andiamo a GPL ma dobbiamo integrare il riscaldamento in altro modo perché così è troppo costoso...

Abbiamo scelto anche noi il caminetto della stessa marca. Una bomba! scalda che è un piacere e il costo rispetto ad altre marche e’ di molto inferiore. Bellissima comunque la vostra stufa.👏👏👍
