Thanks for the upbeat attitude you have been displaying about the current problems WE ARE ALL FACING! You are absolutly correct about this "panic' coming to an end SOON. Thanks for you and your family showing all of us how we can be concerned - yet confident, aware - yet not overcome, and we can go through part of your day watching ya'll do things that bring comfort and enjoyment to us and to you. Ya'll brighten my day!

Mike, you mention your work in the oil and gas industry. I thought I would tell you a little about my family. They're from the southwest PA and north WV area. They worked in the NG industry for most of their lives. They helped with the pipelines to move NG from the south into the PA and up into NY. They help build a pumping station in the little town ob Brave PA. I just wanted to think you for all the efforts to bring us good content and take our minds off the calamity that is striking our nation and many around the world. We need good content that isn't meant to sell fear and doom. Thanks again and God Bless.

Appreciate your comments about our hanging together and riding this out, Mike. Want to share an example of great Americans and selfless acts. We have in our little valley (Roaring Fork Valley, CO) a local distillery that makes wonderful spirits, including world class vodka, rye, bourbon and gin. Potatoes and other ingredients are sourced, locally, from farmers in the valley. The staff are family people who live in the small towns, and are committed to valley principles of community -- not just profit. Glenwood Springs to Aspen -- hot springs to Continental Divide past town -- is a span of about 50 miles. As with most of America, we can't find hand sanitizer, rubbing alcohol, or other hygiene-related aids, anywhere, from Grand Junction to Denver. A few "bad apples" are hawking these essentials on Ebay for ridiculous prices, and people at risk can't afford/find them. The owners and management of Wood Creek Distillery has decided to produce and bottle hand sanitizer (80% Ethanol, 18% Water, 2% Glycerol) and give it away to locals free of charge. The formula is published by the World Health Organization. The product is actually potable (160 proof!) but shouldn't be consumed, recreationally. :) Comes in gorgeous glass bottles 14" tall. Wish I could include pictures. Anyway, they're probably losing $5 per bottle pushed out the door, but they're responding to a need, selflessly. This is what America is all about -- not the very few price-gougers and opportunists. Thanks for all you and Melissa do, Mike. Hugs to Eva, Hannah, Hunter and crew.

Love watching you mill logs, reminds me of when I was a kid and watching my grandfather turn huge logs into beautiful lumber for his customers. Also, thanks for your pep talk this morning about the world situation. We are survivors and we will survive this and will be better because of it - you may not see that now, but you will after it's over with. Also, I bet you have people in your area that would be happy to have that saw dust. My grandfather use to sell it to farmers to use for cow and calf bedding and pet stores loved it for their animal cages. Am I seeing a new revenue stream for the Morgans? Blessings always, p.r.morehouse

Hello Morgans. Had a quick thought about what to do with all the bark rough cuts. You can use them on the back side of the building instead of using good lumber. Those slabs of pine would really make the wood shed look as though it were made of logs , if you nailed them horizontally. Maybe use the as lap siding. Just sitting here watching you work . Maybe you could use your rough cut boards some where else just a thought. I also noticed the saw dust building up and wondered why you couldn't" hang a 5 gal. bucket on the discharge . When full use it as a mulch around your trees and flower gardens or something ,thanks for your videos and time ,,I enjoy everyone.

So we are doing school work for the morning and then chores around the 85 acres. We are making firewood in snow up to our knees, several bond fires and hotdogs, planting seed in peat pots, making blue bird houses, cleaning wood duck houses, greasing the 1070 jd etc etc etc. I had to go to town to see if it is true of people going to the Walmart to hoard toilet paper. I don't know what you could use that thin layer bark cut on, but it would be kinda cool to use it on something. Maybe siding for a deer blind or put it down on the trail then cover it with wood chips. To wood chip that trail it's gonna take the entire family chipping in. Takes a ton of wood chips and they don't go too far for everything you gotta chip. I'd almost ask a tree company if they need a spot to dump chips you got one for them. I always got wood chips from our city compost place where the tree trimmers dump. An entire days worth of them chipping would do like 40 feet on the trail.

good video, every one has their own ideas, techniques and plans. I do not want to invest in a sawmill and do all the work cutting timber off my farm so this is how I build a farm shed. I purchase metal carports in the size I want or need. It gives me a 10' metal roof in the center sloping to 8' on each side and metal framework on each side, I pay 65 cents per board foot of sawmill lumber locally so I buy 2.5 x 2.5 inch sawmill studs and frame the vertical metal posts of the carport with this lumber to have wood to nail to, I then use 3/4" x 12" x 8' lumber on the sides to close the carport in, then use 3/4" x 3" x 8' battens to cover the gaps. Quick sheds that I can frame in and close one end or leave both ends open for drive thru. I have eight sheds/ barns I built this way and one of the sheds is 18' wide and 42' long with both ends open so I can drive thru pulling a trailer or store a trailer load of material until I need it and have room on the sides to store other things. simple quick build and works great for my needs.

Yo Mike, I noticed when you were cutting boards that you raise the head on your mill in preparation for the next cut. I run an older LT 40 and I am able to pull the board and return the head without raising it. It just fits and saves a step and makes measuring for the next board quicker. Just an FYI that may work for you.
