If they get away with it, perhaps they'll have enough money to live off of for another 10 years. If they get caught, they'll end up with a roof over than head, plus 3 squares a day, rather living on the streets. We are a throw away society, so we care little of those over 50, despite the fact that we'll all grow old at some point, at least most of us.

Most disabled get just over $900. They do not even qualify to put in a rental application. A low income studio is $1015. Or was six years ago when my rent had shot up so high with new owners that I had to go. My sister took me in. Old enuf now to qualify for senior housing. Been on the waiting list for a year.

Really glad she had room in the garage for what furniture and etc I kept or I'd be starting with nearly nothing. I got very lucky. She'd only moved from the Midwest a year before my son (and housemate) died and then new owners. There was noplace to rent, even with Section 8 help. Not a one bedroom in sight that wasn't a luxury apt and $$$$$.
