Nice video Dan! When I ran flatbed I twisted my straps as well. Besides the flapping the straps will loosen up over time as well if you don't twist. Honestly it should be required to twist and illegal not to.

A good-ol-boy trucker taught me that trick some 40 years back. He hauled my trailered pleasure boat from NY to Austin. He pointed out the strap damage that had taken place before he twisted them. I had always tried to make them neat & clean, not twisted. No more!

Can’t wave a magic wand & produce a trailer instantaneously. It takes time to order, get other trailer orders out of the way, get components in for the build, etc.. They can’t just drop everything (& p*ss everyone else first in line) to build Dan’s trailer.

When you had that blue pipe on your truck and said you were close to your consignee in Hungerford Tx. I figured you were dropping at Formosa Plastics in Wharton at US59& Tx.102. I had my favorite air freight load there in 1996.

Twisting straps affects the aerodynamic property which causes them to buzz. It’s the same property which makes a flag wave from side to side! Strange you should mention Hungerford since the original is only a few miles from where I used to live in Swindon. Both are in the south of England - one in Berkshire and the other in Wiltshire. Berkshire is pronounced ‘bark shire’ incidentally. 😂

Missed you, both. Yes, I agree everything bigger in TX. The Bad as well as The Good. I' seldom see piles of trash up against the highway fences like in TX. My favorite is "you are now a felon" billboards when you come out of NM. Can you imagine how Mexico feels today since TX was theirs until not too long ago. Thank you. stay safe.

Trucking is like the frontline. 90% wait 10% madness. I suspect most of your followers are truckers/ex truckers so enjoy all your vis content not forgetting Bailey of course. (One time I was on the Georgia/Alabama border fast asleep, The at 0130 a dam train came through with its horn wailing!!! Hell I was on my feet ready "battle" in seconds. LOL For an Englishman it was like hell broke out. LOL). 4th tank?good planning. Stay safe from that darn weather.

Dan, you are smart. Er on the side of caution! I have never driven thru on of those Storms, but stationed in Jacksonville with the USN. Did ride out Hurricane Donna back in the 1960's. Scared me worse than any storm on the High Sea. Be safe ,keep Bailey secure. Bruce.

In the early 80’s didn’t that truck stop in Ozona Texes have a Indy car inside? I seem to remember something like that. I had my own 82 Aerodyne cab over and woke up to my wife freaking out. I’d parked on the west bound on ramp to sleep. Anyway she woke up to light bulb fog and said she kept seeing stuff. Shook my head and went back to sleep. We still laugh about Ozona 40 years later. BTW love your videos Dan. Edit: my wife said New Year’s Eve 84-85;was the night.

I think you just get kind of lazy with the camera. You’re right, all of the driving is boring. That’s why you have to film some of the other stuff you do more often. You will pull into a fuel station and say I need to get some fuel And then stop filming until you’re driving again. You need to film more fueling and maybe cooking in your kitchenette and stuff like that. I think it’s just easier to walk around and show your load and set the camera on the dash while you drive so that’s why you tend to do mostly that
