Almost the same as the MasterCraft Extreme 80 75amp Welder......Same Factory.., diff paint & stickers.......haa Do u think this would welder thicker then the 80amp MasterCraft Mig/Flux core welder.? I'd rather Stick Welding..........
I have the CT version. I am a novice welder as in, I have about 1 hour total under my belt. I found the smaller 1/16 6013 rods burn real fast at max amperage and burn hot, but you should have the machine set for 20-40 (really 40-50 on this machine). I struggled with a 3/32 6013, but I now have good success by running DCEN instead of DCEP and letting the arc heat up the pool before I begin to move. Machine needs to be on maximum. From there I can do a slower weld, and I can feel the rod going into the work, which gives great control. I just ordered some 5/64 6013, which I think would be great for this machine. I blew a 15 amp fuse (yes I currently still have fuses and no "currently" is not a pun...or is it...) that was shared with a few other things in the house. I had a dedicated 240V line to the shed for an old compressor and I changed it to 120V 20A, which the machine loves. The line is 30ft of 10/2 for any concerned electricians out there. I am going to fabricate a kindle kracker and a new level of shelves inside my offset smoker for my first projects.
It's a great little machine, perfect for projects around the house. I haven't had a chance to play with mine much, but I mostly bought it to run off my generator for portable emergency repairs. I think it was a pun.😄
I have the same welder but three years older - used it fairly regularly through that time and has never let me down on various projects and different thicknesses of metal. You are correct in saying one must find the correct amperage/ rods. For the price and my needs it was perfect. Great job on the video as well. Cheers
@@BruceLyeg yeah i got the mastercraft , its all the same unit i think. Harbour freight looks the same also. Done alot of welding with it no problems. Let us know how you like it after awhile
How's she goin'? I'm no welder that's for sure. But having said that, this looks like it would be a great machine for someone who just needs to stick some metal together. It's nice that you can use it to weld from a 20 amp circuit. That could make this a worth while tool to have. Thanks for sharing and take care!!!
Hey Mike. I thought of you when I was doing this video, it'd be a great welder for someone like you that as you said "just needs to stick some metal together". I even tried it out on a 100' extension cord (usually a no no for welders) and it worked fine.
That would definitely be good, for some of my small projects...The Tinman, from Wizard of Oz, approves it,... yup !!! 👍 👍,...PS,...the best Fortune Cookie, that I ever got was, (What's that in your eye? Why, it's a Sparkle!)...I still carry it in my wallet, to this day...Your welding sparks reminded me, hehe...Take care, Bruce...
Thanks Marc. You should pick one up, they're certainly cheap enough even for occasional use. I have never gotten a fortune from a fortune cookie that I thought was worth keeping lol
That seems to be a nice stick welder, Bruce. I know nothing about welding and would you believe this, I actually bought a small TIG welder from my fellow bible studies brother. He does quite a bit of welding in coures. Me....nada. I'll eventually get around to it. Full-watch and loved hering metal get fused. Have a fine weekend, Bruce. 👍🏽🙂
Thanks Don. Boy, you're jumping into the deep end starting off with TIG welding! It's not that bad, just requires lots of practice. Once you learn to TIG weld, the rest is easy though. You have a great weekend too!
Awesome Bruce《☆》Like Meatloaf said 7 out of 10 ain't bad 7/10=2/3 fuzzy math🤓My barn has 60amp service wired for 220v as well but the previous owner took the 220 plug with him apparently. Nice demo btw👍🔥My question or comment is(Can you do a comparison to one of your bigger units under 60amp preferably ?)🖖😁🍗🦎◇¿.🌴◇:*:◇🌴Greetings from⛾Florida🤳my good friend😎🎱☮🔊🖖👍
Thanks BDOG. Fuzzy math works for me! Just take the plug out of your laundry room for the dryer! lol Good idea on the comparison between this and a larger welder, I'll do that. Have a spectariffic weekend
No need to be negative Hue. You could have looked on the positive side and said "50% of your movements are in camera frame". Hahahaha anyway, yes. It's a good little welder for small jobs and an excellent buy for the price. Have a great week
Awesome, you must be a master welder. Perhaps you could post a video of you welding with the same machine and show me how it's done. I realize I'm far from the best welder, but I'm always opening to learning and improving my skills. I look forward to seeing your video
