The Sikhs are extremely good soldiers. In Burma WW2 My father commanded 5000 men, among them were Sikhs and he praised them for the effectiveness, loyalty and excellent service they provided at all levels. They were a damn good fighting force, you can rely on. At one point I got a bit concerned that you were going to be squeezed by a truck and something else, they closed in on you and looked very dangerous. Lovely scenery though and yet another interesting video. Thanks Noraly :)

Noraly's Pit Stop Lunch ; SARSON KA SAAG + MAKAI KI ROTI : In context, Saag is used to describe stewed or puréed greens. Any type of greens can be used in Saag, but mustard greens (called Sarson) are the most common in Pakistan and India. In Punjabi cuisine, Sarson Ka Saag (or Sarson Da Saag) is often paired with flaky cornmeal flatbread (makai ki roti ) 🙏

Seeing this great content has given me flashbacks to a journey in 1985 where unfortunatly Punjab was a restricted area due to the Amritsar conflict. Waiting at Lahore border for the one day opening a month then having our Magic Bus to New Delhi army-escorted through whole Punjab without a halt. In those times Jammu/Kashmir was peaceful and needs no permit to enter and spend holidays in. Stunning is that the traffic seems to not have changed the smallest bit. Those truck and bus drivers risk everything everyday. The sikh are really impressive people! Have fun and stay safe.

I met people from all over the world and the Indian people were so polite and interesting . I would talk to the spouses and relatives while the patients slept . They were so surprised that I was interested in their culture and religions but I find that fascinating . I also did Home Health and met a few Muslim families too and I would listen to their music and prayers ... It's a shame people can't just allow each other to live in their particular cultures and not fight about it . I pray Israel can find peace and all others . PK

Noraly - if you are still in Amritsar, you must try their pomegranate juice! Thanks for sharing this one, it was a key to my memories. I was in Amritsar in 1994, and spent one and a half day in the temple, Harimandir. The Golden building is like an island in a lake. At the end of the pathway to the building is a room, in which they kept their holy book Guru Grant Sahib at the time. Every morning, during great ceremony, they brought the holy book from there into the golden temple. One such morning, I was sitting on the first floor of the hall inside, looking down at ground level where the book was just placed among musicians and a main singer. As soon as the sun rose the book was opened, then the music began its inciting recitation of the text of the book. I mean, like singing the bible, torah or quran in its entirety. One person had as his only task to turn the pages for the singer. Tablas, harmonium, hand clapping, powerful. You could buy a series of cassette tapes with songs from the temple. As the sun set, the singing stopped as the book was closed, and so did the music. They had been singing and playing the entire day, in turns with other musicians. The book was carried back across the pathway, to its safe room in the temple complex. People left the temple, and the whole thing would repeat next morning, continuing from where they ended the night before. Many people were sleeping on the marble in the golden light from the lit up temple. Amazing, just amazing. I recommend you Jaipur and Pushkar if going south, or Varanasi at the Ganges, and maybe you are going to Nepal? It will be interesting to see what is up your sleeve next! :-) Keep air in your tyres! ENJOY! 🥰

Hello Noraly, I like your videos as you allow the video photography takes its own course. Instead of commenting every now and then, you allow the viewers to decide their action. As India is a land of diversity, it will make one tired in no time. You have braved the odds and delivered the best. Thanks Noraly

I'm from Jammu, and recently I visited Kashmir in my car. The journey was quite an adventure, especially on the Ramban-Banihal stretch, which is known for its treacherous conditions. The road is narrow in this area, and the presence of trucks only adds to the challenge. However, there's some hope on the horizon, as construction work is underway to improve this critical route. It's expected that in the near future, the Ramban-Banihal stretch will become safer and more accessible for travelers.

You should go on a bike trip to these fantastic places in India, like from Gangtok to Nathu La, Coorg to Munnar, Bhalukpong to Tawang, the Rann of Kutch, or from Valparai to Vazhachal Forest. Especially, you should ride through the Western Ghats in South India and the Eastern Himalayas in Northeast India. These are some of the most amazing places in India.

It's true that the Sikhs welcome anyone into their temple worldwide for a free meal no questions asked. I've been to Sikh temples and they have fed me with delicious food as much as I wanted with a non judgemental smile and asking for nothing in return so I give the Sikh people a FULL FIVE STARS. ❤
