Leo Bidwell (69003) was with the 16th Victorian Rifles as a Medic at the age of 19. Originally from Malmsbury working at the Post Office, Leo enlisted on 26th of July 1918 training in Broadmeadows and moving out with the 1st Depot Battalion on the Carpentaria Embarking on the 7th of November 1918, however, the war finished a few days later. He ended up as Postmaster at Currum Post Office and lived in Dalmont Streat Highett until he passed away on the 16th of January 1953.

Tamillas Robert Mappin MM (13318) was born in Geelong and enlisted as a student when he was 23 on the 30th of August 1915. Training in Broadmeadows and embarking for France with the 13th Field Ambulance as a Medic on the 22nd of March 1916. On the 29th of October 1917 the Australians around Ypres came under heavy fire, the 13th Field Ambulance and Bob under heavy shelling went out onto the battlefield saving a number of the maimed and wounded. He was awarded the Military Medal for his actions on that day. He returned to Australia on the 8th of May 1919. When Bob came home he finished his studies as a Minister becoming the Vicar of Saint Helans and the Chaplin at Saint Marys in North Melbourne.
