Phase 1 Build of the 76
Following from the last build video, we do the doors, upgrade the door trims and add new speakers to the doors. Also strip all the interior out, finish the full carbuilders install and then put it all back with some upgrades.

Good installation, stage one and two, Looks like hard work. I’m glad the noise of the V8 is still there. I mean who doesn’t like the noise of a V8!

Yeah very happy with the result. Saved a few $$$ doing a fair bit myself but yes it all adds up. So worth it though. The sound deadening and the head unit made the car so much more useable.

She a beaut mate i know what its like to do your pride and joy up and get it to your personal spec ive just done the same with my mark 7 hilux and its been such a joy to finish and have ready for the ruff stuff.

Thanks mate, yeah been fun doing some of the work myself. Really happy with the car so far but lots still to do. The mark 7 hiluxes were a pretty popular shape I think, see a lot of them around.

Thx mate, yeah they were a nice touch pretty happy with them. Pretty happy overall with the interior of the car. Still a couple of small tweaks to go. Will start looking at some mods to improve performance off road next. Probably start with tyres as on our recent high country trip definitely found the limit with the current tyres.

First time i heard they full out and being an owner of 3 vdjs not one has fallen out….? Must have been when people have pulled then out to upgrade the led bulb inside and broke them or did not put them back in correctly???

Not sure, mine were both stock and one already had a broken clip the other didn't but was loose fitting and on rough tracks they'd both vibrate out. Can't remember where I heard but on a forum somewhere I think saw some posts that it was a common issue. Wouldn't have bothered changing them except for that.

Looking good mate. I do think the black looks much nicer than the grey. Hoe much weight did all that sound deadening add though? Looks like a lot of weight just to block a little sound. Those seat covers look mint too mate.

Not sure on the sound deadening alone, but all the mods, sound deadening, roof console, seat covers, rear panels and the winch added about 140kg to the car. So I guess the sound deadening was probably around 50-60kg.

@@OffTheBeatenPathAus I have heard it is not light weight stuff, I guess if it was it wouldn't do the job right. 140kg for all that isn't too bad though and in reality you replaced the door trims so they probably didn't add much, more just repalced the weight from the old ones.

@@OnCountryWithMick yeah but they had speaker pods on them which the originals didn't plus the weight of a 6.5" speaker in each door..... all adds up

Yeah used the self adhesive roof treatment that was one part I didn't get to film as did that just before taking the car to the auto elec. It's much thinner than what goes on the floor and doors.
