Holy Cow - that is the best looking Baby Pac I have ever seen. Amazing job of restoring one of the most unique games around. The amount of care your team takes shows in the work. Blown away!
Fantastic, I wish I'd not live so far away to have same treatment for my baby pacman I'd be very interested in viewing the prototype you mentioned Thanks a lot for sharing all these moments and informations with us
I've seen many of your restoration videos and man...you guys just raised the quality level with this one. Worth every bit of whatever you charge to do this. PS: Last time I actually seen and played this, was between 1982-1983 when I was living in Greece.
AnalogX64 Thanks!! This overhaul cost $980 and customer supplied the side art, control panel overlay and playfield overlay. We swapped out the playfield with an extra we had.
I have to say im not a big fan of pinball but never seen one of these kind. So much more could be done with this concept. You guys really do an impresive job. I so love watching these vids they are a great break in my day. And there are some very lucky owners out there. Maybe one day I might get one. But I find it hard to see pinballs but that one looked really cool. You dont see stuff like that now.
Had a horrible life this poor playfield Was a excellent restore for this great pinball hybrid game Note: other similar is Granny and the gators, has a similar gameplay system
I noticed on your video when your testing baby Pac-Man, when you go down the tunnel I noticed baby Pac-Man didn’t slide down on the screen to show your going to the pinball game, my machine is does the same thing and doesn’t show. Is there any way to fix this? Thx, Mark
You mention BPM often having right flipper ball launch diode issues. I have that issue now. The ball just launches right away. Trying to fix, wonder what diode to buy and how to know if diode for sure
TNT Amusements Inc, yup it launches with no wait, I want to fix so it DOES wait. I’m chasing info to replace diode as diode is still there and not visually damaged. I’ll just trust you and replace it
I found a service bulletin on ipdb.org that shows wiring of this switch. Look at this. Also, try completely unsoldering one side of the switch ad see if it still does it (meaning something else other than the switch is the issues) www.ipdb.org/files/125/Bally_1982_Baby_Pac_Man_Two_Service_Bulletins_April_1983_see_second_page.pdf
Here's some playing tips for this machine. Since I didn't have access to the real machine (which is truly a misunderstood classic... fantastic strategic arcade game) I had to use PinMAME and VPX. Enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0fNAXXWxpsE.html
hi Todd, i'm gonna be contacting you after pandemic is lifted. I have a cosmetically like-new Baby PacMan Pinball that powers on fine. But there's a green screen in the top monitor and the sounds is very low or non-existant and does not work when pressing 1 or 2 players
Question..Can you actually wash the play field with water? I guess I am confused about that...wont it ruin the electronics underneath? I have to put a new overlay on my Baby Pac Man too...
you can use water in a limited way...we find the best cleaner for playfields is the automotive GO JO...original formula....it not only gets everything clean, it does not hurt your hands down the road
Thanks! I also tried to user your web email on your site and it does not work...was gonna call you today about what replacement bulbs to use for my baby pac man..can find the correct ones anywhere! grrrr
The memories......... all those years ago back in Toronto, I worked for a few video game companies servicing equipment. One of the companies I worked for loved putting two games into one cabinet. Normally what would happen is I'd install four, 4PDT relays to switch the the joystick, buttons, coin switches and speakers between the two different CPU boards. Anyways, Bob bought a few Baby Pacmans and Granny and the Gators at auction, they were cheap, and boy did he love cheap, so why not? He decided that I could easily add a second game into the machines. Oh, what a disaster this turned into. No matter how much I tried to explain to him that Granny and the Gators and Baby Pacman both used a scanned matrix to read all of the switches and that I would have to add in enough relays to separate the strobe and scan lines for each scanned switch, he wasn't about to listen. I never saw Bob so pissed off before. But he eventually gave up and just stuck them all in the Holiday Inn's in the Toronto area.
I love that machine and you guys did a great job restoring it. My dad had the same machine in his work shop going back quite a while ago and I don't know what ever happened to it,I think he may have been fixing it for someone I can't remember. I still have a pacland board and I just wanted to know was their a dedicated cabinet for that game? or was it a conversion because we had the game in a cocktail machine. Thanks guys and great video.
don't think I've ever seen this one. (wow) and I've been on gog since 2011 or something I still know people who left it when it was a subscription based game site. Not anymore :) Thank god for Witcher. without whom gog would never exist. Same company.. and someone who really wanted some games that sorta ran on Dos Box to actually run that way using their own tweaked Dos Box. I could get some games to run on Dos Box but it was like finding a needle in a haystack. Oh but memories of The Beast Within (FMV) Gabriel Knight 2 (never liked the 3rd one that um some idiot we know Tim Curry? did the voice on that smh oh he's fun in Colour of Magic eh don't think I should spoil that for you but if you like some Monty Python it's a must.
TNT Amusements Inc it's unique so therefore great game :) certainly glad you had some spare parets around. although the next time around I assume you'll have to use the other playfield eventually. or sell it ;)
Lee Bartholomew We junked perhaps 5 of these machines over the years---too many issues, etc....and the parts (flipper brackets, etc) can be used on other games.
