During a holiday in North Wales, I made my first visit to the Llangollen Railway on a beautifully sunny day. The line is on an uphill gradient from Llangollen to Corwen with the departure from Berwyn requiring a standing start on the gradient as well as on a curve. From the roadside, we see GWR 57XX 7754 powering out of the station.
