You are such a fantastic teacher. I appreciate you so very much. You take the time to explain everything you’re doing. I’m about to challenge myself to paint this for my son’s office. Thanks again. Middle Ga USA
After over a decade and half of being afraid to paint again with acrylics...you have made me want to pick up a brush and canvas. I love your way of twaching and could listen to you allllllll day
The lightning one Ian......FAN--BLOODY---TASTIC. Thankyou. I am painting the eye of the storm and was a bit stuck. I now know what to do with the lightning. Thank you and hoo roo. :)
I have looked at many tutorial acrylic videos because I want to start painting. I love everything about your videos! I would love to watch longer ones just so I can learn from you all the tricks and things of how to or what not to do. You make it so fun and I never find you boring. Hugs to you for what you do for our artistic world. I love your cat, too...I have two.
I enjoyed watching your techniques on how to paint lightning and dark clouds. Great work! Have you ever thought about painting tornadoes? That's another video I would like to see you do. 😃👌🌪
I am a new painter and I do tend to like the longer videos with a lot of explanation in them. I find them helpful in learning new techniques, oh and I love how you do clouds. I have been struggling with clouds and trees.
Love your work there. I would definitely sit through a longer video. Wanting to incorporate lightning using that technique into a night landscape. Thank you for sharing your talent.
I think your videos are the perfect length, you have a nack of spending the right amount of time on the parts that need more explanation and less time on the boring bits. Love your lessons, and learned heaps .good on ya mate keep them coming.
I love your work and have completed four paintings following your sage advice. You stated you would like us to say if we Want longer videos....YES PLEASE! Your teaching is so easy to work along with. I am preparing to do this wonderful painting too. Thanks!
Most of us who watch RU-vid watch for hours - I usually watch several of your videos back to back - a longer video would be awesome - I learn so much from your instructional paintings. Love love love watching/learning from you!!
Hi I must agree with all those that want longer videos because we learn more, and I love love your work. The first one that I did, the other one hanging in your workplace and I was showing my friends and a lady from America bought it, but I don't know what to do about the signing of the painting, if you can help me I would appreciate it Bernadette Northen Ireland UK
I regularly watch painting videos that are more than an hour long. Just do it, I would watch and so would many, many others. You might find that you are able to put more elements in the paintings you are teaching and become a more effective teacher. I love your work and I enjoy watching you.
Love that you take the time to teach us but a longer video would be great, let it all out mate, the more you can teach me the better. That lighting is Awesome!
I literally skipped exactly to the part where you talked about people skipping through 😂 I was only skipping around to look specifically for heat lightning, but I did end up watching the whole thing! Lovely video, thank you so much, handsome. 🥰
I have completed two studies of this painting for practice and one finished product. Your lesson was easy to follow and I was able to expand on it a little. Would love to see a more complex lightning lesson. I am going to study the sky for awhile and prefer your style of teaching. When are you coming to America? Are you coming to South Carolina? We have a huge artist group here. Would love to have you come teach a class.
hopefully in may/june i will be in america, if you are following me on facebook you will be able to keep up to date on where i will be and when, cheers Ian
Thank you for showing us how to do a painting with lightening in it. I’ve tried it before and it never turned out well. I look forward to trying this. Thanks again. Love your paintings.
I'm from Egypt I follow you very well to learn from you and I want to make paintings like your paintings to improve income You are a very, very real artist too
I love it! Thanks! I paint as a hobbies n wanted to make a creative painting for my boyfriend who loves batman. My plan was a black background with yellowish lightning in the shape of the batman logo....I know im not the greatest at painting but i love to do it. when I started painting it I hated it...it never looked right....now I have a great idea how to go about it.
I know I could certainly sit for an hour or two and watch you paint and learn. I am a rather new painter and although I have family and friend's who say I paint very well, I don't see it personally. I love what you are doing with blending. Have you painted snow? Would you let me know where I can go to check out all your video's please. Thank you.
here is a link to all my videos i have over 170 there just keep scrolling to the bottom of the page to load more videos, cheers Ian. ru-vid.comvideos?disable_polymer=1
Just found you and you are wonderful...I am not a beginning painter....but found your painting techniques inspiring and great. Want to try your style...my vote is longer videos...do you have more advanced videos?
i don't do advanced video as most advanced know what there doing, i keep my video's doable for the beginners so when they see what i do i want them to feel they can do it also. if you look in my play list there may be something there. i dont like to come across as an artist showing how good they are at what they do, even thou there is nothing wrong with that, I just want to come across to them as , look what i can do you can do it too and i will show you how.
LOL I hope he sees your comment. He just needs to have students on camera to yell insults at and chuck their "raw" paintings into the trash, before promptly shouting "GET THE F**K OUT" Hell's Art Studio. This guy is way nicer than Gordan Ramsey. Edit: cursing
I also watch other teacher's like "The Artsherpa" and Angela Anderson and the paint for an hour or more and the give so much info and you learn so much it's amazing. I love watching their every more. I'm enjoying watching you also!
After reading a few comments, I think your videos are just about right. 30 minutes is great. I tend to get tired and lose interest after 40 or so. Keep up the excellent work! (Although, I could listen to you speak for hours! Love the Aussie accent!)
yeah i think your right most of my vids are from 15 to 25 mins long i am a bit un easy to make them 1 hour long as i too think people will lose intrest, cheer's Ian.
This old dog just learned a few new tricks! I've been painting and teaching acrylic painting for years and today we did a scene with a stormy sky, palm trees and some lightening over the beach. Wish I had seen this video before the class I would have loved to have passed on some of your techniques. Next time... Any way my cat Tara (terror) sends Steve her best. They could almost be twins. Oh Yea, This video could use a bit more volume, a bit heard to hear for these old ears..
Lovely tutorial!!! I was looking for tutorials on painting lightning and none of them were really simple and understandable to follow along with. Thank You!!! :D
