I think you would be much better off spending the extra hundred bucks for Nikon's 40mm f/2. You get AF and full control of the aperture, as well as a much faster max aperture, and while bigger than this pancake it is still much smaller than the average full-frame Z lens. It has a nice big focus ring that's easy to grip when you want to go manual too.
I very much agree with you on this. When it comes to lenses under $500, the returns from bumping up a $100 tier are huge. AF, sharper, less flare, faster, smaller, easier to operate, and full frame. Yeah. And at 40mm FF, it's close to the crop on the MFT 16mm Sigma that people use as webcams.
