Edit: It makes much more sense if you read about Tabi's backstory. He lived a horrible life, even before he and Girlfriend even met. Girlfriend broke up with him and had his pet cat killed just for shits and giggles. Girlfriend isn't a good girl; she's a cruel sadist and an animal abuser. Not only did she kill Tabi's cat, but she also killed Scooby Doo. If I was Boyfriend, I'd break up with her in a heartbeat.
