Zam gave this very analysis few days before dlakadla in his channel Mzantsi and Usa news. That's why i think his views are very educational. For instance, he spoke about Holomisa instead of Angie, He mentioned whilst happy with Steenhuisen, he could have been better utilised elsewhere, he spoke about Hlabisa as being his deputy president and so on.
Mr Professor they are called the national executive, the positions are executive positions and they obviously have advisors with the necessary qualifications in those portfolios. The GNU was a national directive.

The DA should never have agreed to that letter of intent without stipulating a marked reduction in cabinet posts and a clear understanding regarding proportionality. The ANC, even after its loss, hasn't changed one bit. Now, we sit with a bloated cabinet filled with incompetent ANC deployees and can therefore expect more of the same. The DA is on a leash, so I won't hold my breath. It's quite disappointing, to say the least, and very far from a GNU. The ANC has far too much power because the cabinet does not reflect the will of the people.

For someone who is meant to be an academic & a political analyst, the analysis is off. Problem with people like Mngomezulu they have dogs in the fight and so view things through a factional lens & so can’t see the wood for the trees. Politics is the art of the possible. Even if ANC got 100% of the vote, whoever is leading has to do a political balancing act & appease different constituencies so that no one feels they have been mugged, everyone needs to walk away feeling like for their compromises they got some concessions too. That is reality of politics. You have to know the power and interests of your stakeholders and respond accordingly to survive or have some longevity. IFP is a jnr partner with 3.9% of the vote, they have already been awarded KZN their base. DA with 21.8% of vote is the second largest party in parliament and in the GNU, they too wanted the DP post, its shocking that the professor thinks it would have been a clever move to show such contempt & appoint IFP when you are trying to build consensus and unity. Paul Mashatile is next in line to be ANC President in 2027 you think he and his supporters in NEC will take a demotion lying down? Bantu Holomisa executed a coup when he was Chief of the Transkei Defence Force, it will be foolhardy to give him complete rein over such a powerful portfolio more so given his military background & how he has been critical of the ANC over the years. There is a reason why the military should always be subject to civilian authority. Giving him someone like Angie Motshekga as his superior is meant to slow him down. People/parties contest elections to get power. Politics is not a churchHow do you go into a GNU without a seat at the table? You need to have some influence and to be seen to be doing something otherwise your constituency that put you there will just judge you negatively more if things you are against are implemented with your rubber stamp.

The ANC is STILL acting so arrogantly, whether national or provincial. They still act as if they won 60% instead of the 40% and 34% they won respectively. They haven't changed, bloody skelms. I blame those people who didn't vote.
