Heck of a setup Dave! When you’re in business the more OCD you have with your organization the better. Faster job response and quicker tool inventory! Be proud! That’s a slick rig 🤙
I like the simplicity of this trailer. You have room for materials storage, a bench (which I agree with completely...), a proper ladder storage area, electricity at the bench is a must.... I've watched dozens of these videos and I like yours the best...honestly. It may be because it appears you concentrate on one field of work rather than these handymen who have to carry electrical, plumbing, landscaping, sheetrock, etc.... well done sir. Signed, John in Texas...
Thank you for the compliment! Where I live I’m not allowed to do any plumbing or electric, I’m not even allowed to swap out a light fixture. You have to be licensed in those fields to do that work. I do pretty much everything else besides roofing, and tile work.
@@bluelineimprovements7349 So like ... you do cabinetry, drywall, trim? How is that? I am considering my first trailer. I am a remediation contractor with vans+truck.
OCD, that’s the name of my helper, as in I use my ocd by putting in some time now, to think up how I can help myself in future work flow, so my gear is mindlessly organizable so that I can be freed up to do other things. Great rig, let the haters show you how much you SHINING! Let each job come out straighter, faster and more profitable than the last!
Storage for full sheets is on my must-have list. Love it. I want one half of the trailer (man-door side) to only have wall-mounted saws and the like, so I can get back cargo space if I need it. I want clear floor all the way to the nose. My Dewalt miter saw stand will rack vertical. Room up high for moldings and 1-bys up to 12' long...
Very Nice....(OCD) = $$... Less time spent looking for things and more time getting the job done.... I would like to float an idea for what I want to do and get some feedback... picture this same trailer set up but as a movable pod... carried by a 14,000 GVW dump trailer with the appropriate wench to drop and pull the pod back on when not using your dump trailer for projects that require a..... dump run, cleanouts, etc. Extra income, save on dumpster rental.....perhaps rent your dump trailer for clean outs....
I sure could have, but to set up it like I wanted with the ladders on the side and the sheet goods cubby I needed a 7’ width. I wanted a 7x12 but I didn’t want to wait three weeks for it to come in. They only had 7x14 in stock. I still have more stuff to add so there is room for expansion. I’m glad I had to get the 14’. It’s great to have more room for longer boards.
How thick is the plywood used to make the shelves? are the vertical and horizontal components the same? I tend to overdesign everything but the weight is definitely a factor when towing this around.
The front shelves are 1/2” plywood with 2x3 framing. Where I used the plywood as the “frame”, such as a vertical wall with a horizontal shelf attached, I used 3/4” plywood for the most part.
Most of it didn’t need to be attached to the floor. There are some spots where i used a metal L type bracket. Or I screwed a wood block to the floor then screwed the plywood to the block.
