Literally am not having words.. the whole lecture was just awesome...was in an awe the whole time how could anyone explain a concept so deeply with so much patience..hats off to the legend out there 🙂❤️
I can't understand how possibly and beautiful your classes are. I am preparing my physics exam watching you videos. Thank you for making physics spectacular (PS I even bought your book, loooking forward to having time for reading it)
9:30 , Hats off sir, This is the best way to solve a differential equation my eyes have ever witnessed , Really you make us see through the equations, so visual , so natural.
Lol no, this way how will you actually solve equations involving damping or complex DE involving exponential and trigonometric something like AC circuit before steady state
Thank you so much for your lectures. You cover the content in depth and very clearly. I also enjoy your experiments a lot; they really demonstrate the real-world applications of the concepts in a very amusing fashion.
It is teachers, and demonstrations like this that made me love science. It has always been my favorite subject. Teachers any less eccentric, and demonstrations any less dazzling risk being perceived as boring to the average student. This man is a genius and these videos are solid gold!
I like the way sir teaches each and every thing practically, he explained how the things actually works in real world. I had enjoyed this lecture very much. (JEE Aspirant)👨🔬👨🎓 from India 🇮🇳♥️
now i found some other thing that confuses me i noticed that you used the -kx=-mg*sin(tetha) on the pendulum system, but i suppose the rope is considered not stretchable? or is the K here is just a constant so that the Restoring force is directly proportional to the displacement? if so, why is the displacement considered x (the small arc formed), or is it because of the small angle you can consider it a straight line? thanks
+Lectures by Walter Lewin. They will make you ♥ Physics. i am terribly sorry sir, i think i mixed up with an other video, so i think it is the banana that confuses me the most ^^

I may have found a hint in his book "For the Love of Physics". There he writes: ".. - and when after ten oscillations I turn of the timer, it reads 45.61 seconds. That's a period of 4.56 ± 0.01 seconds. 'Physics works!' I scream, and the students go BANANAS"
I love physics ive had a passion for it since childhood but i can assure you it is very difficult to explain these complex topics in such an engaging, thorough and precise way. Demonstration is everything! He does it so effortlessly you can tell he understands in front back and sideways and really deeply cares about making it click for his students. Thats a passion for physics, not everyone has it but those of us who do really wamt others to get the same understanding and bewilderment the universe brings to us
Thank you very much, it is hinting me towards the comprehension of universe and matter. I am a civil engineer aged 60 , the subject civil engg primarily based on hooks law, now realise what oscillations are from spring theory into string theory of quantum mechanics.
what a great teacher you are, Sir! Time period of pendulum is independent of mass, now I won't ever forget this. But the sinusoidal wave with that paper, that was my biggest confusion when I was in high school. It couldn't be explained better. You're truly great sir!
46:23 that was a real Miley Cyrus moment for the professor lol. He has such a passion for teaching , I wish I had a teacher like him in school than I wouldn’t have sucked in physics like I did back then.
I never believed in LUCK until I came across Sir Lewin's lecture. His students are the luckiest when it comes to physics.... well we all have the same through this platform ❤
Thank You, Dr Lewin. I really appreciate how you compared the two formula; the formula for the pendulum and the formula for the spring and how you explained that mass has nothing to do with the period of an oscillating pendulum! You truly are the best teacher. No debate. Non-negotiable.
Wow, excellent. I missed physics in university because I thought the math would be too hard. I'm now learning what I missed back then. Thank you for these detailed videos. I can only learn so much from the short 5 minute RU-vid mass consumption videos with fancy computer graphics and no math. You are helping me learn about wave/particle duality, wave functions, electromagnetism and more! My favorite is the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle video. First time I truly understood what it meant and what quantum physicists mean by "information" and "observation."
I had a teacher like you in my tuition classes! He is also a great teacher! I hope I meet him again after getting my medical college. Btw great explanation sir:) you really make physics easy! Thank you so much 😊
Professor hanging from pendulum, this is what MIT is and teachers like you make it what it is. This is my favorite lecture.Very VERY VERY exciting. I can't express how happy I am to watch this lecture. I am going to get in high school(I am going to get my result on 24th march), I am extremely privileged to see these lectures from my home(though getting into MIT is my wish and dream,it is difficult).
Sir after this watching video I have realised what physics in reality is . You are awesome professor . I would like to meet you at least once in my life . I touch your feet sir with huge respect . Touching feet of teachers is a culture in india . We all Indians are proud of you. Hats off to you sir🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
One of the greatest Physics teachers the world has witnessed. Thank you very much Professor Lewin for your teaching methods that has literally set a standard of teaching Physics. I'm blessed to find these golden lectures during my lifetime. Stay well professor!
Thank you so much sir. For the first time i could involve myself in physics for 47mins straight, and not force myself....this is a great achievement for me..😊😊
i used to not be interested in this kind of stuff but the more i watch your lectures the more i become fascinated with everything that you talk about and it makes me want to learn more
Long live sir.... Knowing something better than other is nothing..but giving that learning to someone else in a better way is the best . And you are best.
Yes really beautiful to who seeks. I have no words express . Once again thanks . The time period for planet Earth works out to 8.911 sec. For 1 day of acceleration. I don't undrstand what string is holding us.
WHAT A GREAT LECTURER. AN DXCELLENT DEMOSTRATION BY HIMSELF. HIS STUDENT NOT ONLY LEARNT A LOT BUT ALSO ENJOYED.😁😁😁👌👍👌👍🌷⚘🍁 I AM WATCHING TIS LECTUR AFTER 5 YEARS.THE TEACHER HAD FULL COMMAND OVER HIS SUBJECT IN PHYSICS. WE NEED SUCH A TALENTED TEACHER.🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰
This level of teaching motivates some beautiful minds so much, they reach the level of complexity and appreciation of nobel prize. You are beautiful Sir.
LOVELY lectures from Prof. Walter Lewin. Really hope that I have lecturers and concept explanations that are as great as Prof. Walter here in Indonesia. Thank you Prof. Walter !!
sir that why we love you you dont give lectures of physics you also apply in class a huge respect for you from whole india (and also sir please collabe with physics walla
Thank you for sharing these wonderful lectures. It doesn't take to be a genius to understand your lectures because you present things in a clear and practical way. If all teachers were like you - we would have a new Albert Einsteins every decade.
Sir i really love your precious precious precious and precious lectures....you are not only teaches physics you teach that how to teach a concept in physics....because your saying that physics is not only remembering equation physics is concept....
Professor.. Thank you for the amazing lecture... Initially I hate this topic but after seeing your lecture, I am in love of Physics indeed!!Thanks a lot.
Tonnes and tonnes of love from India... It is really unbelievable.... Because how could someone explain each and every concept with demonstration... Hats off to Walter Lewin sir... You will live forever.. We love you forever...
I am a medical student from India... Left physics years ago ... But your lectures sir are again helping me to understand one of my favourite subjects deeply again ... A lot of respect sir.
Speechless! Absolutely spectacular! Definitely the best physics class - and possibly the best class - I have ever seen in my life! Thank you, professor! Physics works!
"Thank u sir for making the lecture so good" THERE IS SOME SPECIAL FEELIN YOUR LECTURES THAT MAKES PHYSICS LOOK MORE BEAUTIFUL. 😊😇😊 "You made my day, because i was struggling to understand these topics" LOVE FROM INDIA🇮🇳
I am 14 years old and I came across sir Walter Lewins classes now I am in love with physics and I found my pursuit of happiness that I will become a theoretical physicist .Thank you very much sir .
@@kshitijsharma3170 he's dumb. Class 11 deals with vector area of equations of motion with trigonometry and calculus, Class 9 student can't relate to these topics
What makes physics so beautiful is how it applies to completely isolated phenomena, that the amplitude of the spring system and pendulum doesn't affect their periods, that the formula for the period is awe-inspiringly similar for both spring and pendulum T = 2pi • (m/k)‐½ . Just replace m for length of the pendulum and g for k and you have the equation for a pendulums period.
This man is precious. Why idolise a love island contestant with some killer abs when u can idolise this brilliant-genius man 😍😍 he will save my education.
Perfect example for the quote "No pain ,No Gain". You must have taken such an amount of effort and pain to teach them. They are lucky to learn Physics from blessed hands.Enjoyed the lecture Sir...!
