8.5 PM (Animal Crossing OST)

This reminds me of my time playing the game when I was like 10 years younger :D I usually started AC and the little villager came out of this house into the evening. It felt like peace.

Beautiful piece of music! I'm doing a 365 Days of Music challenge and chose this for Day 275! I like to write something for each of the tracks, so I thought I'd share what I wrote for this below. **Day 275:** "8.5 PM" It is so important to rest. Whether that's getting enough sleep or taking a day off, a little rest makes a big difference. There's a time to work and a time to rest, but one thing is certain -- there is certainly a time for both. This theme seems to find a middle ground between work and rest. It's certainly tranquil and sleepy, but it's also very much the kind of music you would find in a study/work playlist. (I've already added it to one of mine.) I think the main thing keeping it awake is the percussion. It's just light enough to warrant some action unfolding. The seashore fading in and out and the sound of cicadas also gives me the impression that we're slowly on the move. It's the kind of music that would be very nice during a late-night outdoor decor session in New Horizons. You're not necessarily in a rush, but the surrounding peacefulness sets a nice backdrop for some casual activity. This was apparently composed as a result of an Animal Crossing music study, evident through fading accordions, minimalist percussion, and the ambiance created by the sound effects. That said, this doesn't really sound like any particular game. It's probably closest to Wild World, but the quieter bit (1:47) feels more New Leaf. I do also hear some similarity to New Horizons 2AM in the melody, but this predates New Horizons by over three years! There are many great themes in the Animal Crossing series, but there are always some that are shorter, emptier, and more repetitive...and not as enjoyable as a result. This track remedies all three of those obstacles: the piece is longer, full of little bits like guitars and chimes and whistle synths that back a simple repeating melody. The melody is constant, but the backing prevents it from being annoying. This allows the tune to blend into the background without droning on, which is perfect for games like Animal Crossing where you could be listening to this for an hour straight.

This is one of the most beautiful ambient tracks I have ever listened to. Please make more like this. Plus its inspired by Animal Crossing so what is not to love!

Some four or five years ago I listened to this song on a regular basis -- it was one of the only songs that could calm my (at that time, horrid) anxiety. A few days ago by chance I found it again. And damn, it holds up well.

i found it. i was 13 when i found this track and i was going through a really hard time and this got me through all of that. i haven't heard it since and now i'm 19.

God, its songs like these that make me realize how much power the music and gaming industry has over your emotions.. The combination of all of that stirs up the nostalgia chemicals in my brain and its the most wonderful feeling in the world.. So thank you, and bless
